Hey I'm a slayer player and I wanted to offer a couple more notes for people interested in more. -For many characters, if you press 2K to stuff Dandy Step after many normals (c.S, 5H, 2H, f.S(2)) then it autotimes the grab afterward. Combine this with an on-hit OS to do 2K > 2D > 4D and you'll get a hard knockdown against the high/low and an auto-timed throw against Masters Hammer. This works great when they don't have 50 meter since Pilebunker is such a risk without meter! -Against K Mappa Hunch in neutral you can try dash blocking. If you block the first portion of the move without FDing then it will be throw punishable! -An alternative option against Masters Hammer is backdash. Unlike throw, backdash doesn't give a counterhit and has a more generous window for success. If your character has a 20f backdash (i.e. not a heavy) or better this is an excellent option! On that note, the greatest gift to Slayer is a counterhit. Find options like backdash or fuzzy mashing that reduce the chance of giving it to him. Good luck everyone!
Slayer main here, I wanna add a note to the k mappa hunch advice. It not only doesn't go very high, it doesn't go low either. Any option you have for high crushing (crushing a high attack by going low) will beat it handily (dandily, if you will) As an example, I have a friend who sometimes plays Sol, and Night Raid Vortex beats Mappa Hunch everytime. It's also fairly easy, depending on the spacing, to grab out of blocked Mappa Hunch. You can grab as the Slayer if you're plus and close enough and the enemy isn't trying to grab, so give grabbing a shot to punish Slayer for his nonsense
I never realized how privileged it was to have Aba 2S against Master’s Hammer. Still got knocked out at Evo by Slayer, gosh I hate his 2h. Can’t even poke him at times
make sure not to block mappa hunch in the air. both versions of mappa hunch are minus on grounded block but if you block it in the air you're in way more blockstun which makes him insanely plus
Slayer is actually *quite* busted right now. Reflected... rather clearly... by his matchup winrate data on puddle farm. Expecting (praying for) nerf bat sooner than later.
Pilebunker doesn't beat fuzzy mash? If you're delaying the mash properly you should be blocking the Pilebunker but still getting the jab if he does the high/low which is the entire point of delay button in that situation. The only thing to be aware of is that he can slightly delay Pilebunker, but even that carries a risk since mistiming the delay can lead to bigger punishes by the defender and can lead to him losing the interaction anyway. Just adding to the bit about Dandy Step too: if you use 5P or 2P you can layer the option select against Dandy Step- delay mash to beat pb/high/low but if he does Master's Hammer you will recover in time to jump and dodge it, (grounded) throw punish before it becomes active or air-to-air him.
The last I want to say 22 or almost 23 days I have been scouring UA-cam for a video on how to fight this character because he is dumb broken one or two touch you off of one mistake and I play ABBA I don't have very good speed or damage unless I'm in jealous rage so I'm going to watch this video and I hope to God I can get something out of it because this character has been plaguing my fucking existence and since everybody wants to pick him up and play him it's really hard to deal with his shit sometimes😂
guess nah you can probably FD/Deflect shield (or DP if you have one) OS by holding FD macro on wakeup and inputing 214D so either way you block it, works for any meaty cross up mix like millia's safejump frow what i know he can call it out with his command grab, or if you deflect and he didnt attack you're eating a CH c.S punish ideally you dont get put in that situation to begin with tho real advice is win neutral

pretty sure aba's 236K (the vault move that becomes an overhead in JR) goes over slayer 2H
goes over even some mids for some reason
