A cold air intake giving an extra 30 to 40 hp? This guy is definitely A forum master technician. This guy is definitely new to the game and has just read the boxes for the horse park ganes. It’s almost sad to hear this guy talk about this stuff.
Never heard of a camshaft that goes underneath the vehicle…😂. Mine is inside my engine, but you know I’ve heard on Mars they’re going to be on the roof.
I talked to a speed shop and if you follow RacerX you'll know none of these mods except for the supercharger add any true hp for the money. Coldnair intakes reduce IAT and don't give any hp, chips are junk and exhaust would really do little more than increase sound. I have a 2022 Challenger RT 5.7 6 speed. It is gonna be around $20,000 to forge my bottom end, cam, new ECM, long tube headers, clutch, duel hellcat fuel pumps and dyno tuning to get me around 900hp. Definitely consult a shop before wasting money on UA-cam suggested mods.
You can't super charge a stock 392 because you'll blow it up. It has different pistons and rods than the hellcat. The piston rings are very close to the top of the piston to help it run cleaner. Boosting this engine will destroy the pistons.
Forge your pistons throw all type of hp at it. 392 have the best potential. Don't sleep on the 392. My bro got a 15 with 1400hp to crank...1100whp...392 forged engine. Not hard ,not expensive
Whatever you do don’t supercharge your 392 without upgrading the internals. All of the internals. Don’t half step or you’ll be very angry. They didn’t make this engine for boost. They made it for Naturally aspirated horsepower.
I think he’s over estimating the gains with a CAI and exhaust. Also ,6.4 will only handle about an extra 100 hp with the stock bottom end. You would also have to do something with the trans if you go full boost. The 8hp70 that comes with the 6.4 can only handle around 600 ft.lbs of torque.
I'm supercharged now with a forged 392 hellcat lifters and injectors. And I'm just over 800-900 you can't push 700 wheel, tranny rear end fuel pump fail can't handle more then 700
Be prepared to blow your motor, transmission, or differential soon after though. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Jeep has bolstered the drivetrain (transmission, driveshafts/half shafts differentials, transfer case) made some engine alterations to account for packaging constraints, changed up the cooling system(lost the fog lights to help cool the oil and air feeding that massive supercharger), and retuned the brakes(bigger and 6 piston Brembo's all around) and suspension. Those are just the hardware changes. Add to that all the validation testing-which FCA engineers include a 24-hour on-track durability cycle and a punishing high RPM/high load track test wherein the Jeep had to undergo five 20-minute hot laps around a racetrack at temperatures greater than 100 Fahrenheit. All backed with a warranty. Just get a Trackhawk 😂
I totally agree with u, this kid doesnt know what he is talking about, some poor person is going to follow his advice, put on a supercharger with a cam and destroy their jeep SRT and wonder why it happened. Also, wasnt the SRT engine block itself NOT designed for so much HP? Where the hellcat engine block is reinforced for 700+ HP?
Brownbear is probably right, but to FullSend's credit, I was seeing some tuners claiming they were able to safely run with 4psi long term. I wouldn't wind your supercharger up to 8+psi but it sounds like there are some gains staying at the bottom end of the boost range without adding tremendous risk. I have no doubt by doing any supercharging that you'll shorten the life of your engine and drivetrain.
@@HellcatGuy sorry no I missed that. So why wouldn't you tell people all the parts to support a build like this then? Instead of saying it may damage your engine? I mean your video is advising people how to turn their SRT into a Trackhawk shouldn't you outline all the advice? And properly too? I enjoy your videos, but I would suggest doing your research before giving out mechanical advice to people about their vehicles.
No forged internals? You seem like a nice kid but this is just a recipe for scattering engine parts all over the ground. If you wanna throw a supercharger on your motor without going into the engine, get a 5.7. Smaller displacement but was made to handle boost in stock form. The 6.4s are made for naturally aspirated power in stock form.
No cold air intake adds 20-30 hp without a larger throttle body, and tune to work together, a cold air intake only adds 5-7 at most if not add in the real world
The complication with supercharging a 6.4 is the fact that it has higher compression ratio. It can be done but would need to be tuned to run safely. (You will need to be tuned for boost anyway if you add a supercharger). I would recommend running it on e85 with a flex fuel sensor. Also aftermarket superchargers that out perform a stock hellcats can be found for a cheaper price.
@@Momoshiki2379 I was talking about a way to get it to work on a stock unopened block. E85 and correct timing will prevent the knock that will make the weaker rods fail. You are right though about doing pistons and rods for more reliability / higher power potential. I would spend the extra and drop in pistons and rods.
You NEED to upgrade the transmission to handle the power. Stock 6.4 transmissions are only rated to ~550 hp (I don't remember the exact number I read but I know it's not much more than 500 hp) the cost to upgrade to trackhawk/hellcat power would be more than just trading in for the upgrade.
A cold air intake can provide a modest increase in horsepower ranging from 5 to 15 horsepower, however this depends on the maker, as some may even rob you of HP, so make sure you get a well known make that has proven it product.
About to drop the Legmaker in the Hawk🚀hon be insane. The whine is already loud in whatever mode, but I can’t wait to hear post LM. Always good stuff bro!!!
You can do all the mods to make the equivalent hp as a trackhawk/hellcat,but the running gear -suspension etc upgrades will cost wayyyyyyyy more than just buying a Trackhawk!!
CAI, alone? No. TB, high flow cats are just a few things you need to do with that CAI to even come close to the gains you're talking about. On that note, my 2020 Scat is supercharged (Edelbrock). Motor is stock. BUT...I'm running low boost. Because these guys are right about the internals not being able to handle high boost. It. My plan eventually is to take it to a 426, so I'm gonna run I like this as long as it will. It will be a good case study.
lol "Performance chip" Please please please don't buy an Amazon or Ebay "chip." You need to physically crack the SRT ECU to even have the ability to modify the software. Then you need to have a specific tune written for your car's modifications and fuel. This is literally the most basic thing about modern automotive tuning and if you don't understand it, pay smarter people who do.
The camshaft does NOT go "underneath the vehicle", as you say. Don't you know what the camshaft does and where it is located? What are the cam specs and lobe separation angle (LSA) on this "Chopsticks" cam and who makes it? How do I buy it?
Ok so your wrong on basically every mod you talked about, hp gains are not that high and the price is steep. No CAI is getting you 30 hp maybe 10 if that and tuning late model hemis is like $2k alone. A cam might cost $1000 but the job and other parts adds up to $4k-$5k and is such a big job you should do headers while your there so add another $2k-$3k. Exhaust is basically sound only, not much power there and flow master sounds like crap. last supercharging the 6.4 is not reliable unless you pull the bittom end to open up the gaps on the piston rings otherwise youll pop the ringlands (very common). Also to do a hellcat blower would be a pain in the ass and more expensive than a kit. You sound like the guy that goes to the exhaust shop with a cherokee and wants it to sound like an srt.
That’s not true 6.4L can handle way over 700hp they build the car to handle way over 470hp some cars come with 3.7L touching 400 and still boosting handling the power.
I put on a Borla Atak. I recommend the Borla .. sounds amazing and zero drone .... Jeep SRT has ram air coming from around the fog light. A cold air intake doesn't seem to make any gains. Nice video but more research needs to be done! Some of those numbers are a bit inflated! 5.7 and 6.4s don't have forged Pistons so more than 10psi of boost is a super no go! 2.7 red eye blower's on a stock 392 bottom end would be the absolute end my friend 🤣.
Dude the cam goes under the engine wow I always thought it went inside the engine with a correct tune. And nooo nothing from the hellcat engine will fit the srt…. But I did put a sticker on my car that’s easy 25hp gain 🤘
I've actually done all these upgrades long tube headers cold air borla atak. Stage 2 camshaft and tune and it wasn't 800 hp lol and it wasn't even close to 4k
Imagine the engineers at dodge discussing why not to supercharge the 6.4....."It can't be done, the engine is just to big"....."Sorry guys, it's just going to be to hard, we shouldn't do it."
Please give part numbers/vendor/costs/specifications on your parts list. For example, how do I get this "chop sticks" camshaft if I want to order it? I woukd think that these mods make 30 HP all TOGETHER. It would be nice to go through each mod separately and test it as you go. Some of these "improvements " can SLOW your car down if not done properly, especially on a car that is so factory optimized like the Scat and 'Cat.
Young fella definitely needs to talk to pros before posting useless information on his channel. Gonna cause someone to waste money and possibly blow their car up. Love the enthusiasm though.
When he said the cam goes in the bottom of the car I stopped listening. Cam at the top engine, crank at the bottom. A 2.4-2.7 hellcat blower can be found used for about 2k-2400. 5.7 hemi can bold it right on n maybe be able to take the power. Factory 392 NO! Do not buy it for your 6.4 engine. The factory piston are weak and can not take that extra power. He did not mention changing the pistons and crank. You will eventually blow your engine from this guide. The whipple is okay and the mmx bolt on supercharger yes. Do not do these steps. I’m rebuilding a 6.4 and have learned the difference in performance parts vs the 6.2 n 5.7
I'm sorry but the information provided is incorrect. To be exact very incorrect. In order to get a scat to hellcat or track hawks horsepower you'd have to do work on both the top and bottom end. Just adding a CAI will not increase your hp unless you have your car tuned after the install. If you don't your cpu is not going to recognize the change. Then you'd have to do long tubes swap out the throttle body for a ported hellcat throttle body, port the air intake and heads, upgrade the fuel injectors to a min of 650, upgrade the valve springs, add a snake charmer aka torque converter to the Trans, then fully forge the internals before you can even add a supercharger. Then you'd need to cam it. So if you do all that without the supercharger and go the naturally aspirated route you'd get up to 670 to 710hp which is more than a stock hellcat at the wheels.
Brother.. bruh.. 🤦🏻♂️ you might as well tell them go to autozone and just go through the isles. Walk out with 800hp.. 🙄 I know ya want content, but dude.. educate yourself please.. unlocked pcm to tune.. (without a proper tune.. the brains of your car.. nothing works together properly. Or you won’t get the end result you’re looking for lol) one, piston ringlands are super high on the 6.4L hemi.. you wanna change those out (piston and rods) for at least some drop ins.. then look into fuel system. Fuel is the lifeline to your motor.. along with oil. Then you’re chasing reliability with parts at said horsepower range.. some people say axles or diff brace / one piece driveshafts. Etc.. but transmissions in the 5.7 and 6.4 (hp70) aren’t as stout as the hellcats hp90.. so keep that stuff in mind. Just remember, and I mean it politely.. not everyone is going to understand complexity of engines, nor be a mechanic.. and many younger uneducated people are gonna see your videos and assume it as word of god (in a sense). So do your followers a favor. Just do a little more research brother.. and as you do, you’ll lose a lot of critics in the comments. Just advice. Goodluck!
The price that you're giving for a Hellcat is what a Scat Pack costs. Build one online with the Widebody package and you'll see. Please provide accurate price ranges in your videos and not ballpark ones of the wrong models.
Yeah only way to do this is if you got 30k to blow. If you get a scatpack you know what you're getting so if a person want more power just buy the hellcat.
It's funny he says 6.4 Scat Packs are 475hp but they are actually 485hp at the WHEELS. In the system it pulls at 500hp total at 6000rpm. Lol...Scats are already 500hp, 485 at the wheels.
Your not getting 30hp from a intake, you might get 5-10hp if lucky, I added a intake on my srt Jeep and charger scat, on my hellcat the intake helped a lot more with the power and the whine of the supercharger.
@@HellcatGuy no lol no intake will get you 30hp, you would need exhaust, intake to get close to 30hp, it’s easier on a boosted platform with getting more Hp on small mods over an n/a motor.
Yeah but the 6.4 won’t be as reliable as a supercharged 6.2 which is the hellcat engine because the 6.2 has a forged rotating assembly and the 6.4 is cast

You're not getting 30hp from a intake. You're lucky if you get 3hp from a cold air intake. You'll need long tube headers and a tune to see real gains
I appreciate the advice I needed this info
Brother.. bruh.. 🤦🏻♂️ you might as well tell them go to autozone and just go through the isles. Walk out with 800hp.. 🙄
I know ya want content, but dude.. educate yourself please..
unlocked pcm to tune.. (without a proper tune.. the brains of your car.. nothing works together properly. Or you won’t get the end result you’re looking for lol)
one, piston ringlands are super high on the 6.4L hemi.. you wanna change those out (piston and rods) for at least some drop ins.. then look into fuel system.
You’re correct . I just brought a widebody
@@CatWalker904 So did I! Great car!
What is the part # on the performance camshaft?
Had to turn the video off when he said the cold air intake will get you 30hp😭
Lost all legitimacy when 1. Was CAI...
Fucking Rookie!!!
Gassin ppl up to wreck their whips 😂
30bhp from a CAI? 😅
Kid read an article on basic upgrades and thought he’d make a demon
Kid is smoking 🚬
"Camshaft spins when you drive"
Perhaps
30 extra hp for a cold air intake? lol
Really just buying hellcat supercharger and install it for $200 and bom you have a hellcat 😂
I went with an awe touring non resonated exhaust and it sounds really nice I will have a clip on my channel pretty soon
I’ll definitely stay tuned!
The cam doesn’t go under the car it’s in the engine
Yeah only way to do this is if you got 30k to blow. If you get a scatpack you know what you're getting so if a person want more power just buy the hellcat.
You need to uprade your brakes, ppl never think about it needs to stop with all those horses
Camshaft underneath vehicle no f’ing way it is not under vehicle
So will you get the red key if you add the mods
Yes of course
It's funny he says 6.4 Scat Packs are 475hp but they are actually 485hp at the WHEELS. In the system it pulls at 500hp total at 6000rpm. Lol...Scats are already 500hp, 485 at the wheels.
you cant just put a supercharger on a 6.4 lol not that simple bud
Well it kinda is.. Specially a procharger, it's not hard, a guy with a mechanic mind can easily do it in his garage
Upgrade pistons you’ll be able to ppl boost 350z like crazy handling 600hp
Dude doesn't have a clue about what he's talking about
😂
30 hp for a CAI?? Really?
"The camshaft goes underneath the vehicle" Bwahahahaha! Completely clueless.
So when are you doing the mods and show us, not just tell us.
I think you need to learn more about what a cam shaft is and where it goes 😅
YeaaaaNO.... 😂
You are not going to get 30HP from a CAI.
I’ve always loved chopstix
Your not getting 30hp from a intake, you might get 5-10hp if lucky, I added a intake on my srt Jeep and charger scat, on my hellcat the intake helped a lot more with the power and the whine of the supercharger.
Leg maker says 30, is that true?
@@HellcatGuy no lol no intake will get you 30hp, you would need exhaust, intake to get close to 30hp, it’s easier on a boosted platform with getting more Hp on small mods over an n/a motor.
30 ho from a cold air??? Without tune? Get real
He said 30HP 🤐
400000000 hp
Don't need to do that have a trackhawk man hahahaha nice try tho 😅😂😂😂😂
THE 6.4 Has 485 HP not 475.
Most don't know 6.4 engine makes about 500hp crack. Even displays on the performance pages. I found out 2018.
Yeah but the 6.4 won’t be as reliable as a supercharged 6.2 which is the hellcat engine because the 6.2 has a forged rotating assembly and the 6.4 is cast
6.4 hemi has a forged crank. Just not rods or pistons.
6.4 hemi has a forged crank. Just not rods or pistons.
6.4 hemi has a forged crank. Just not rods or pistons.
You can supercharge a 6.4 just fine. If you are worried, just buy forged rods and pistons... Then you basically have a stronger and better engine then the 6.2
This dude don’t know what the hell he’s talking about
