Between your's and Rusty's videos this week, I fill motived to overhaul my work space in the big shop. Thx to you both for sharing, and motivation,Bear Happy Father's Day
Wow , jam packed in the shop alright ! Your South Bend is looking great . Some pretty serious rock climbers there as well . Cheers Dean . 👍
Thanks Max, Yeah those climbers are nuts...I'll stick with playing with dangerous machines
Cheers.....
Good timing. :) Resurrecting the Diamond and Clausing mills will be winner series of videos for sure. Can't wait.
Thanks Buddy, Maybe a winter project
Enjoyed the tour…well equipped & packed shop….koko
Thanks Chuck !
Great update Dean. Well organized shop with lots of good useful tools. I know what you mean about those household duties getting in the way of all the fun stuff. The older you get the worse it gets. Hope you enjoy the Bash and don't let The Seagull get all the good stuff. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Jim, The Seagull is a tough act to follow.... 😂
ATB....
Nice workshop tour Dean. Thanks for the update. There's plenty of projects in your queue - as we know, restoring machines is a big job. Cheers
Thanks Paul, I took my wife's advice and relaxed for 1/2 a day, but I feel a bit guilty ...Lol
Dean, You have so many projects to keep you busy for a very long time! have a great day.
Thanks Philip, yeah lots of rabbit holes...Lol
Thanks for the peek inside your shop Dean. That toolpost grinder is a gem. Nice that you got to Yosemite. That was meant to be part of our next trip but crazy airfares and pathetic dollar exchange rate killed that off. Maybe year after next. Cheers, Preso.
Mark, Yosemite and the Redwoods are must see locations for California it's a bit crowded but always amazing. Be sure to lookup us UA-camrs if you make it out...
Cheers...ATB....
Awesome stuff, very nice setup in your shop
Thanks Adam !
That's an interesting tour, Dean. A very nice collection of toys you've got there.
And thanks for the vacation footage. That' spectacular.
And I would love to come to the bash. But it's maybe a bit far.
Thanks Rusty, Only a few hours drive to the bash for me.. Yours would longer and a fair amount of swimming required..
ATB.....
I really like your shop layout and you appear to have no shortage of future projects.
Thanks for the walk around Dean. Glad you were able to score some metric change gears for the Enco. I bought the same power feed for my mill several years ago and it has been working just fine. That air compressor is a beast. With those CFM's you could do some serious sand blasting. Not going to make the bash this year for obvious reasons.
Hi Tom, Yeah I had a big "free" blast cabinet, was going to setup outdoors.. As it turned out, it was just to rotten and not worth fixing up. Probably go with the HF one at some point.
Whishing you good progress on the shop..
ATB....
Going to miss the Bash this year. Had surgery back in April and was not sure how long recovery would take. Doing well now and starting to get some shop time in. Enjoyed the video.
Hi Steve, Hope your recovery is going well...back issues are no fun.
ATB....Dean
Nice look see around the shop. Totally agree about the slop sink. It's a game changer.
Quite the tool collection. Four years ago, you ran to get a "free Clausing Mill" that you don't need, or have space for. Shame on you for just hoarding. Guarantee there is someone in your area that would love to have a low cost mill to rehab and learn on,and that machinery could have been put to work, instead of sitting under a tarp. You should pay it forward by finding a home for it through your contacts. You should have let it go to someone who wanted it in the first place.
It has some major issues, that will require a lathe and a mill to make the repairs. I'm hoping to start on it this winter...and of course I had the same plan last two winters. (life gets in the way) I really want my grandsons involved in the cleanup and repairs. Ultimately I would like to set it up at their house if they show enough interest in shop work, so it actually gets used. Otherwise like you say I'll look for a local buyer.
