I have to say you’re a credit to UA-cam, I love that you listen to different genres from the 80’s to now and don’t judge them or laugh which I’ve seen some reaction channels do, so thank you.... Heart are incredible singers

I read somewhere that when they went into studio for this song, Nancy had a cold and the producer loved the gritty sound for this song and asked her to take lead. I don't know how accurate that is, but its interesting. I love Nancy's voice.
This song was originally offered to Stevie Nicks, but she turned it down. When it was offered to Heart, they took it and it became a huge hit for them.
I wish adult contemporary would return to pop music. You really don't hear more mature voices in mainstream music anymore. Luckily, we can now stream it whenever but it would be nice for mature artists to be as recognized as the twenty somethings.
Heart is complete BADASSERY!!!! They can truly sing. This is my favorite song by them. They absolutely ROCK in concert. I'm so glad they're inducted into the RRHF. They're incomparable 💖
I love this because it also lets Nancy shine. She's not only an AWSOME guitar player, she's a great singer too! She sounds a lot like Ann in this song. I originally thought it was Ann until I saw this video.
You really do pick the classics. This song is incredible. These Dreams and Alone are the two songs that everyone knows. They were huge, especially in America but this song is known internationally.
I remember Heart's songs by heart, That's how much I liked them as a teen, they were like Goddesses to the teenage me of the 80's. I so wish I could slide back in time and stay in the 80's for the rest of my life. Oh the wishes of a 50 year old man lol.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it already but the person who wrote the lyrics to this song was Bernie Taupin, the lyricist for all of Eltom John's songs.
@@GrubWarp I bought Dreamboat Annie when it came out. I had a Hell of a time getting my friends to listen to it. The album Little Queen helped, but for me Dogs and Butterfly was primo 70's Heart. (in addition to Dreamboat Annie of course).

Heart was the first rock artist I was exposed to as a kid when I was 9 in 1977. I fell in love with them at first listen and still hooked today 44 years later.
Nancy's acoustic guitar playing/work was VERY under rated in the 70's. Check out Heart's Dogs and Butterfly album if you want to hear some Primo Nancy Wilson guitar playing.
This song was dedicated to my sister Sharon Hess. She was a lifelong fan of Heart and specifically Nancy Wilson. She died at 21 from leukemia. Thank you for posting this reaction video and keep the love alive.
Rest in peace Sharon. ❤️🩹 I'm going through treatment for a brain tumor and dreams have been my escape from the pain. Reading that this song was dedicated to your sister really brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing with us, Shannon.
These rocking sisters are fabulous! Thank you for reacting to them. They can do both soft and slow and more harsh rock vocals, depending on the song (there are many!) This one featured Nancy as the lead and her sister sang background. They did another version live years later and they can still hit those notes.
The Wilson sisters, Ann and Nancy, are incredible. This song has a great vibe distinctive of that era. Beautiful lyrics and imagery - a lovely flowing dream.
Apparently Nancy was suffering a cold at the time of recording but they felt the huskiness of her voice added a quality to it so they kept that recording!
To me, this song tells of someone who yearns to return to the fantasy of their dreams every waking minute. As a Christian it reminds of how Death is sleep, and Heaven is the dream, yet it's more wonderful than all the fancies of all our golden dreams.
I personally love Nancy's voice , I think she was often looked over by people who listened to Heart. She had an awesome voice, and her skill with both acoustic and electric guitar are unsurpaced.
THIS song was one of the earliest memories I have of music. The other one is Sweet Dreams (Are Made of this). You can tell I’m a child of the 80’s right? 😂
Love this song, one of my favorites Heart songs; brings back college days memories! (And the poster I had of Nancy & Ann Wilson hanging in my dorm room. As a matter of fact, I think I still have that poster wrapped up with others in a cardboard tube.)
Hey Jay. I fell in love with Heart in the 70s when I was 12 years old summer of 7th grade. My idol.. Lead singer of rock and roll band in the 70s and I did a lot of their songs. Love love them. I was a Pat Benatar singer but their songs are head and shoulders above all others
I will never forget I was working at RedRobin restaurant in San-Mateo California when this came on. I was a music major in College and I fell in love with this song in the 80's
I know it's been said in a few places, but around the time they were recording this song, Nancy had a bit of a cold, which is why her voice sounded the way it did on here.

Hey Jay! Ann & Nancy, to me, really evolved & changed their style from the 70's to 80's. I checked your channel & these huge hits you may want to add to your list. Personally, I LOVE THE 70'S HEART SOUND. These two songs have that sexy rock "Barracuda" & "Magic Man" sound. They are 🔥 FIRE, Jay!! 70's "Straight On" & "Crazy On You" 80's "All I Wanna Do is Make Love To You" "Nothing At All" & "Who Will You Run To?"

This was a rare song where sister Nancy got to sing lead, she usually plays guitar.
Yes, and it's notable how much she sounds like her sister. Not quite as polished maybe, and likely doesn't have Ann's range, but very similar voices.
Ann tried to sing the song and it was out of her range; so Nancy sang the lead vocal.
She also sings 'stranded' 'There's the girl' 'never' and 'will you be there in the morning'. Are there others? I'm not sure. :)
She also sang all the backing vocals as well as played guitar
