      I do this as well, but I’ve noticed I’m getting some closed comedones & black heads on my cheeks. Idk if it’s caused from the cleansing oil or not, but I read several Amazon reviews saying they experienced the same problem. Thoughts, Dr. Dray? I appreciate your feedback.

    Love your videos! Would you consider making a series for basic skincare first aid? Wound care that we should all know, what to do when we get a cut, or burn our fingers cooking, bruise ourselves. Of course (hopefully), most people will assess themselves and seek medical attention if needed, but in the meantime or during recovery, would love a video for helping with these smaller everyday traumas to the skin!

      If you used Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy, you wouldn’t need to use an oil cleanser at all. That cleanser removes waterproof makeup, even mascara. You only need about a dime size of it. It foams up & cleans really well. No double cleanse needed. It also comes in smaller bottles for people to try.

      @@NatalieG427I use Purity and have almost for 20 years. I am a product junky but I have never used anything else but Purity. I know it’s not for everyone but I love it. It does take all the make up off. I will still sometimes double cleanse with it. Depending on how heavy my makeup is. First to take off the makeup and second to cleanse. I do not have dry skin, especially since using Gold Bond Nighttime Retinol after cleansing. So far it’s worked for this nearly 60 year old skin.

    Dr Dray mixed up which product was thicker between the Kose Speedy and the Hada Labo at 11:23. She said the Hada Labo is thicker, but in an older video of hers (at 13:15), she says that the Kose one is thicker and in that video she puts them both on her hands and shows it.
    The video is called: Vlog: COMPARING CLEANSING OILS ✨ POOL CHAT👙 CAR WASH 🚙
    Now, thicker cleansing oils I thinkkkk work better for sebaceous filaments. The Kose Speedy (pink) rinse off the skin very easily, but the Kose DEEP, is much thicker, and it will rinse off the skin particularly if you have a shower helping out, but it's harder to remove. Double cleansing will easily get it off though. The deep version is great for my sebaceous filaments. Really awesome stuff. Just gotta massage it (from the start) for about 3 minutes (with dry skin) to really let it do it's thing. Takes time.

I have oily acne prone skin and used to think oil cleansing would just make my oiliness worse but I was wrong, if anything I’m less oily now and don’t break out as often. Oil cleanser/ cleansing balm/ micellar water which one is gud for double cleansing for oily acne prone skin?

    • @Tammyiing
      @Tammyiing 11 місяців тому

      @@aabish108 Personally I prefer cleansing oils. I find that most micellar waters either leave a film on my skin afterwards or require a lot of friction and that just irritates my skin. And for me, cleansing balms require a little more work to melt and can get very messy if you don’t scoop out enough. In my opinion, the best cleansing oils are the ones that are very watery, almost to the point where it doesn’t look like an oil, because it’ll spread and wash off easier. I find that a light massage around the nose and cheek area is enough to unclog sebaceous filaments and that helps prevent whiteheads and blind pimples

    I have ordered a few times from Stylevana, but after my last order I will never order from them again. Their customer service, if there’s a problem, is truly terrible! My order was in California (about four hours from where I live) for two months before it arrived. It seemed like it was lost and every time I contacted their customer service, they would only respond with the tracking information. Even when asking for a refund, I would get the same response. It eventually arrived, but I just hope all the sunscreens I ordered weren’t sitting somewhere hot over those two months. 😕

    I am using micellar water followed by cleanser (both very gentle and fragrance free) and my face is super clean after. I wear make up almost every day and my sunscreen is not water resistant. My skin is sensitive, prone to break out very fast if there are oils (most of them), essential oils, any ingredient that contains in the name: olivate, oleate, mystrate, isostearate and other few. I discovered this after about an year of trial and error in order to build a skincare routine. Was even harder to find a sunscreen suitable for my “special” skin. So is good that the rest of the world can use a cleansing oil/balm and I’m happy that some brands sell micellar water and it’s all for me. 😁
    Every time I hear or read “room temperature” I’m wondering what this means. I saw reviews about beauty fridges and people said that is not necessary because you can keep all skincare and/or some medicine at room temperature. I live in Australia in a two storey house where summer can be very hot (48 degrees celsius) and even indoor temperature is quite high. I have AC but I also have a job and I use AC in the evening when I come back from work and in weekends I go out. So during the summer and even spring (now is spring here and we had few days with 38 degrees celsius) most of the time “room temperature” is over 30 degrees celsius upstairs. But I’m sure if you live in Siberia room temperature should be fine and you don’t need a beauty fridge. 🙂

    I’ve been using DHC Cleansing Oil for over 20 years and it’s been my ride or die. I started using it when my skin was still oily and it never caused me any problems. Now my skin is normal/dry/sensitive due to aging and I still love it. When I was in my teens, my skin was so grossly oily that 5 minutes after washing my face with the harshest of cleansers, the greasy slick was already showing. I stripped the crap out of my skin with Sea Breeze, Ten O Six, and sometimes straight alcohol. I wanted the oil GONE, but it never relented. But now, at almost 70, I’m grateful for it. I have minimal wrinkles. Living outside Houston with the high humidity (hate it) also helps. But now, aging sensitive skin causes some problems. Cetaphil and Cerave hydrating cleansers are too harsh and cause stinging and dryness. Instead of throwing them out, I use them to wash my hands. It could be the Niacinamide since I can’t wear my used to be ride or die eltaMD UV Clear anymore either. It causes a red hot rash. The only makeup I use, only when I have to, is the IT Bye Bye Moisturizer. I may have to try the last balm you mentioned and the Hadalabo oil. I never liked the Farmacy balm since it never removed all of my makeup like the DHC did, and it left such a greasy film behind that I would have to double cleanse. Unfortunately, the double cleansing was too hard on my skin.
