Why didn’t you show it after it dried?… Always darker when wet. That is a bit suspicious. Would love to buy it but do not know what the final product looks like.

Wasn’t sure about it at first but it’s actually pretty sick.

i like the richness of the black. We are re-siding our farm-style house with black LP and white trim. Our fence is a split cedar rail that was previously stained brownish. We are thinking about staining the fence black in color (or dark gray) and are looking for a stain that will hold up without fading. We do not want to have to stain it every year. Is this product relatively fade resistant?

The black stain has great longevity. You will want to start looking at maintenance coats around the 3 year mark.

I share a fence line with the neighbor. If I stain my side will this bleed through or drip down on the other side of the fence?

Black is what we want. Should i use a wood conditioner first to apply even and no blotches (over a worn semi gone old stain) on cedar. Also, it is outdoor, should I put a top coat UV protector on it ? Thanks, this looks like what I want.

Thanks for your comment! You do want raw wood before applying the stain, as some previous coatings will keep the oil and pigments from penetrating the wood. Once it is on, it doesn't need anything over it, it has UV protection.

I have a redwood fence that was stained with varathane oil black and has a clear coat on top. It’s 2 years old and starting to show some weathering..wasn’t really happy with the contractor who stained it..I would like to restrain it but I’m curious on the process I should move forward with. Do I sand it and get rid of the bad top coat then restating it or stain over it? I like your product you show here on this video. Please help!

      Hello!
The previous coating would need to be removed, but I wouldn't recommend sanding it. Stripping it off would be the best option, and then reapplying Expert Stain and Seal in Black.

Do you have this color in a solid rather than a semi solid? How would more of a solid look on a new light red pine privacy fence?

Black is only made in a semi-solid. It will show some of the wood grain through for a great look!

Hi do you have any videos of this stain being put over wood that is darker in color like oak or darker stains? I want to stand a table and kitchen cabinets black! What would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

It will appear very dark on a naturally darker wood. You will still see the wood grain through the stain. If doing an interior project, we recommend an oil based poly over the stain.

What is the exact model number of this stain on your site? I saw black, but the containers look nothing like the video.

      Hello!
The black stain can be found here:
      restorativewoodproducts.com/products/semi-solid-wood-stain-sealer?variant=39893522776087
We rebranded after this video was produced, but it is still the same stain.
