This isn't a low bar squat. This is a low bar good morning. That and he re-racks backwards for what? So he can increase his chance of injury even more? Also not using safeties. Use the damn safeties especially if you're going to squat in a compromised position.

Many if not most federations actually do have a rule for this, and this would be technically illegal in those federations. Enforceability would vary greatly though

@@matthewzito6130 its just lockout of the knee's im pretty sure as well as returning to your start position. Because even high bar people lean forward at the top and low bar ppl do it even more.
There used to be a rule in almost every feds rulebook that didn't allow the barbell to sit lower than the top of the rear delts.

@@BearsStrengthAndPower To a certain extent. The elbow is not designed to hold weight at that angle. That's a recipe for disaster. It looks terrible and it is terrible for an elbow joint. It makes no sense. The angle on elbow is maxed out. If he needs to bail out he is stuck. His elbow would roll out the joint. It's a horror to watch such a bad technique.

That's scary looking. Everyone is commenting on his elbows and forearms, but I've tried doing low bar squats and it's my SHOULDERS that are in agony. Also, it appears that he is basically locked into that position. It doesn't look like he could let go or even drop the bar if he had to - almost like a martial arts arm bar or shoulder lock. That's why he had to have spotters help him with the re-rack, I think.

I don’t even understand how this would help u squat more. He still has to bend his knees to depth and straighten up at the end. It looks significantly harder than a regular squat?
In physics torque is defined as force multiplied by distance from point of rotation. So the torque you have to apply with your body to lift, with the hips being the center of rotation is lower.
It also has to do with biomechanics where the glutes are more dominant than quads and they are usually the stronger muscle
@@HarryBolsakbut look it, he has to bend a lot more in the hips, which propably equals out the torque... I don't see any benefits either, exexpt that he is ruining his back by losing control of it.

I hope his arms are strong. Ive seen girls snap their arms on youtube putting stress on their arms like that. Its a twisting force being put on the arm. Not much pressure is needed to break the bone like that. So i hope he is contracting his arm muscles alot to prevent too much twisting force go into the bone

The top of the bar should be no more than the thickness of the bar below the outer edge of the shoulders- that’s from the uspa rule book, I think that’s standard for all feds. This weird squat shouldn’t count anywhere

By letting his torso go horizontal he has increased the weight on his lower back, that is unacceptable. Need to keep that torso more vertical.

That's a really bad take, powerlifting allows and actually promotes people who can find better structural advantage, sumo deadlift is a big no everywhere else but not only it's allowed in powerlifting it's praised, powerlifting enthusiast keeps arguing it's a legit lift, no it's only a legit competition attempt for powerlifting only. And this, you can't have it both ways, you can't promote low bar squat which is using mobility to move the projection of the bar to the back to have a better leverage, and call someone who can do that way better than others a cheat, if anything, he should be treated like a legend and celebrated.
This isn’t within the rules though, not of any fed I’m aware of.
