We were dreamers back then, when stormy days kept us inside and we played make-believe all night long. Our hearts were not yet wounded and the monsters still howled under our beds. As seasons of life pass us by, we outgrow the past yet remember it forever- still trying to make it squeeze. Until one day, something takes our hand, pulls our heartstrings, and
fearlessly propels is forwards into the wonderful abyss, and wounded we, honor what brought us here, remembering the powerful cycle of life itself.
Biography:
Rainey is an aspiring creative at UNC-Chapel Hill pursuing media and journalism with a concentration in advertising & public relations, studying media production and minoring in studio art. She has a background in dance performance, having previously trained at the Rockettes Summer Intensive in 2016 and UNCSA Contemporary Dance Intensive in 2017. She has also performed in Duke University’s November Dances in 2019 under Andrea Woods Valdes and has danced with Modern Extension and C-Style Dance Company at UNC. Rainey has created independent, self-choreography under the direction of Joseph Megel in performance studies, as well as created work for Re:Rosas UNC Library Takeover that was performed across campus libraries in 2019. She has been dancing with Threehouse Studios: TRAIN under the direction of Courtney OM since September 2020.
