When Smacks said he went back to his hotel room and cried was so awful. He's actually such a handsome guy, listening to him talk about his experiences would break your heart 💔

As a 42 year old man who has felt like this since I was a teenager I often come back to this video and it really helps knowing it's not just me that feels like this. Fair fucks to you for coming out talking about it

That’s exactly how my wife feels, she used to be a size 14 and now she is a size 8 and still is concerned with her weight plus she’s quite tall for a female and to be honest she looks ill with all the weight loss, I make sure she eats well but as Johnny says it’s in the mind , I try and tell her we are all different and there is no normal, as long as you’re healthy and at ease with yourself then you’re fine

The best podcast I've heard, everything that Smacks said really resonated. So, you're not crazy and highlighted so many issues that people deal with regarding body image. Bravo.

Honestly as someone who also struggles with body weight and EDs seeing this has really helped, am really surprised that Freddie Flintoff struggles too will have to check out the documentary, but knowing other people suffer too helps???

This podcast is so relevant to me. I was constantly being body-shamed by people who I thought were my friends. Decided to do something about it & now living a better lifestyle & the weight loss journey has begun, I have lost 2 stone in a matter of months & I use the body-shaming directed at me in the past to motivate myself.

Can relate.. I think he's so handsome, I love a man with some meat on him . It's not about looks, people who insult about your looks or body are insecure about their own, and are projecting onto u.
Keep doing what you are doing 👑

I'm a PT and I pretty much train every or most days in some shape or form(purely for mental health) And im self conscious about my body. The thing is if someone makes a negative comment about someone else it says everything about the person making the comment and nothing at all about who its being said to. Well done for discussing this topic. I dont think its any worse or better for men or women, I just think men are only making it normal to talk about recently. Brilliant podcast lads 👏👏👏 I'm in!!!!

This is the first time for me seeing the 2 Johnnies on video, and the honest truth of what went through my mind in the first few minutes was, "Oh wow, Smacks sure is handsome; look at his beautiful features. I love that Nike jacket he has on; what a beautiful build he has, he must have so many women after him!" So imagine my surprise to hear this lovely dear lad talk more about body image.
I learned a lot about how even men too can be misled by people's comments in society and take some really sideways thinking on board and suffer for it. Bless you Smacks for airing this as it's likely given many pause for thought in our own relationship to our own selves, and to uncover where these things come from and to be kinder, far kinder and gentler to ourselves and certainly to others as we go along. Couldn't love you 3 more! Such good humans; good solid folk over there. :)

I have to keep applauding the 2 of ye lads for wading into the waters of yer feelings about yer body images during then and now....and for Vegas..suites are covered in mirrors and glass that shines brighter than a mirror! I feel men can get away with more than women as we get older..fecks sake..double standard..I tell ye ..

Great conversation. Smacks I feel like this every day hate pics being taken hate way I look. I know exactly how u feel. I hide my body with loose clothing as I would never wear fitted or tight clothing. I remember when I got married n my wedding pics came bk I cried I hated the way I looked kept thinking of how big and ugly I looked. It's hard to deal with feeling this way. Hopefully I won't always be like this.

Fair f*clking play to ya Smacks for being so open about a subject that a lot of men go through.
I went through a similar thing when I was younger and was swimming competitively. Can you imagine being a poor tubby 13 year old going through puberty stuffed into speedos whilst everyone around you looked set for the next Olympics. On land I moved similar to a sloth but in the water I was like an elephant seal. The worst day for me was when we were standing at the side of the pool waiting for our race when the lifeguard poked me in the belly and said 'If you hold that in any longer you're going to pass out'. I went home and didn't eat for 3 days.
For me, where I found a place of acceptance about my body shape was the first week of Freshers week in college during the Clubs and Socs Open Day when one of the lads from the rugby club stopped me and asked if I wanted to join.
I'd always liked to play rugby but feared of being by the same people who I swam with. It was a pretty close knit group. In college though I wasn't going to let the past haunt me. I found my place in the second row on the Freshers team and I felt like I was part of a team. That's what I love about rugby, your size doesn't matter they'll find a spot for you on the team.
Again fair play Smacks, stay safe mate
    Paul

Funny you should day this... I was always opposite end of spectrum being really skinny like borderline underweight during youth and would've done anything to fill the jersey I was in. Now I'm 'normal' weight and go to gym but still see myself as a skinny person and struggle to put on weight still! Just mad to have both sides of the spectrum

Johnny - the rude Dubai/Dublin guy commented on your weight because he was jealous of your 'The 2 Jonnies' success. There is no other reason for insulting people like that - particularly if he didn't know you personally - except you are doing great in life and it's killing him to see you in such a good place.
