Love your approach to teaching this song, skipping the typical redundant and painful "where to place which finger on which string of every chord and every melody line," usually geared towards people who've never held a guitar before! Skimming all the fat and straight to the point! Thank you for a fresh perspective intermediate players like me can appreciate!
Really nice way to get the point across that's simple and understandable. So many "tutorials" over explain every fingering and fret position and with the added chatter it takes forever to get to the point -- which just gets more confusing than it needs to be. With your way, all it takes is a basic understanding of te instrument and it explains itself. Well done.
There must have been a reason that I didn't know of this song until I got the Steven Wilson remix of Stand Up. I wanted to learn this song and here it is for me to learn quickly instead of stumbling around for months trying. Great tutorial
I loved your cover - but only just now saw this lesson. You have an awesome teaching technique. Very efficient. I tend to get overwhelmed by the "first finger on the second fret of the third string" approach ... and we can SEE after all ! :) Great job, and THANK YOU for your time and effort.
Wow! Amazing! Love it! Great job, this would need to be my life's ambition to get to this level from my current banger position on the guitar ladder. Nicely done!
Great tutorial! As I wrote before you are the only guy on UA-cam doing this song the right way. I do this almost exactly the same way. Actually, I just think part 3 is a bit simplified. It uses a couple of hammer-ons/pull-offs. As you pointed on part 4, I also do the E chord as at the beginning. On part 5, I do the melody on the 5th string. It's more difficult but I think it sounds better. Cheers!
This is a great teaching vid. I can't stand those, "first finger second string third fret" tutorials that drone on and on. Yours is a perfect format: play it slow, then incorporate it, then get on with it and play the bloody thing...perfect!

Great lesson. If you can find it in your heart to do other Tull songs....WOW !
