“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, reasonable, ready to obey, full of mercy and good fruits” Thank you for this great video
I'm taking the parapro test this Thursday! I'm super nervous because I'm terrible at math! (Probably worse than a 4th grader!) But you sharing that you learned in class the difference between "their" and "there" encouraged me quite a bit! I guess it's okay if I don't know as much as the teacher
Hi Bekki, I just wanted to say good luck on your test, and don't worry about it too much. Just do the best you can :) Also don't feel like you need to know everything even teachers are learning something new daily :) One thing I've learned in working in education is no one really knows everything, and no day is the same. We're just doing the best we can for our kiddos! If you don't mind I would like to know how you're test went? :) Wishing you the best of luck! You got this!
Came across this video late at night bc I couldn’t sleep haha! I am looking to switch from my retail job of 4+ years to work in the schools. I have always had a love for children. I have a second interview this week for another Elementary School as an IA!
Have you ever worked as a bilingual aide? I recently got a interview for that job and I was wondering if it’s the same as IA just knowing Spanish and helping students who are more fluent in Spanish ?
Hi Jenny, I haven't worked as a bilingual aide, so I'm to sure if it's the same as an IA. Perhaps asked HR, or contact the district you applied too. Hope that helps & crossing my fingers you got the position!
Jenny. Go for it girl! I did in my school district and very happy with my job. Big reward to help out students who not fluent in English or helping other latino kids. It’s wonderful opportunity to help out
Hey girl! I lived in Northern California, and it's $16 an hour at my school. As far as what to ask as a certified teacher I'm not sure. I applied on edjoin for the IA position. If you can access it I would search for certified teacher positions to see what are the requirements. Hope that helps! 😊
Hi. Great video. I have a concern. I love the subject English and I'm good at it. I'm considering becoming an English teacher for 7th grade English students; well that is my career goal. Lol but I do not do so well in college classes. Should I pursue English teaching or a teacher's aide position? Thanks 😊
@@TracysCornerHolisticHealing That’s awesome you enjoy English. It depends on many factors one being the income. Full time teachers make more than teachers aide, and have more stable hours. I would recommend working as an Aide and seeing if it’s something you can see yourself pursuing. Then you can pursue classes or during the time you’re an Aide. The schools I’ve worked at were part time so it allowed me to focus on college afterwards. If you enjoy traveling you could be an English teacher overseas. It’s an idea. I’m not sure the requirements or the pay. It’s something worth looking into if you’re interested. Take sometime, and reflect on the pros and cons of a teacher vs a teachers aide. I wish you the best of the luck on your teaching journey. Take care 😊
Seems like you do a lot for a teachers aide . I don’t do 90% of that stuff especially teaching them that’s the teachers job. I just staple papers , help a student if they need a hand and watch them at lunch and playground
Every IA duties is different depending on the school. I actually enjoyed being able to teach as it gave me teaching experience. I found it good practicing and it was mostly teaching within small groups. The main teaching was done by the teacher.
Have you ever worked with special ed students? I just got a job as a IA in the SPED department at a middle school and I’m a little nervous, im not sure what to expect. Any insight will be helpful!
Hi Janelly, first off a huge congratulations on your new job! I've only worked in a 2nd grade special ed classroom for a few months. I remembered the teacher explaining their classroom routine, and told me about each students strength and the areas they were working on to help support them. I learned spending time with them individually help me find ways to connect, and support them. I'm sure working with students you have the patience down, so don't worry :) It's normal to feel nervous when it's something new. Take this opportunity to learn, and grow as much as you can. Tell yourself I am open minded to learning something new that may feel out of my comfort. This is a chance for me to learn, grow, connect, & support the students in the classroom. I trust myself to be the instructional aide I want to be. I hope that helps, and you got this! :) Good luck!
@@AishaLewis Thank you for your uplifting words Aisha, your comment definitely calmed my nerves last night lol. Today was my first day and it went well so thank you!
Hi Valerie, Yes for one school district I applied for I took an exam. Although the other two schools districts I applied for didn't require it. Only an interview. It wasn't hard just basic math, and English questions, so it depends on the district. I have heard some requiring an exam. Nonetheless if you're thinking about being an IA, I would do it! It's a great chance to work with children :) Hope that answered your question.
@@valeriesalcedo8228 that's great, congratulations. How's it going? What do your days look like? I have an interview for IA- learning needs. Not sure if that's similar to yours!
I just got hired as an instructional Aide, this video helps to see the inside scope. Thank you!!!
