  • Took a risk and bought this for a giggle as it was far too cheap to pass up.

    Someone definitely did not take care of that pistol good to see you give it a new life .

    Great video mate! I would love to see the gas efficiency of the 1911 with the R501 slide :)

    Keeps the hammer cocked, not cocked back. You ever heard of anything cocking forward? No, exactly. It's not hammer housing either, its Mainspring Housing. Not being pedantic, just think the correct terms should be used, especially in videos like this that others are going to learn from. A pistol like that if cheap enough is always worth it, even if unfixable it can be broken for parts and it has some quite gucci parts on it. Great video other than those small things. :)

      Thanks for the kind words and also thank you for the heads up, I agree with you 100% on the terminology. Will try harder next time 👍🏽

    Cool video, as a gas blow back noob its very enlightening.
    How would you say these compare to some of the other entry level hi capas like the armorer works ones?

    • @tallguyairsoft
      @tallguyairsoft  3 роки тому

      To be honest, these aren’t as ‘clean’ as the Armourer Works (WE with red bits internally) externally, as there are a few slight blemishes here and there however that’s expected as these are cheaper. Where the Army Armament shines through is in its internals - much more TM spec than the armourer works, the hop up unit on the army is far superior as the hop arm is more akin to the TM design and has a nice wide contact area with the BB. The AW uses the newer WE barrel window and a hop unit with a very thin hop arm, meaning if you replace the rubber (VSR type BTW) you have to change the inner barrel and for best results, the hop unit as well. On the ARMY the inner barrel is cut for TM compatible rubbers anyway.

    Hi. Does this pistol have adjustable front sight? And rear sight is propper heght or to tall and pistol is shooting up? Btw nice video. I liked fact that you actually check bbu, i like to tinker with my hi-capas a lot so it is some useful info for me. And way it was messed up was hilarious.

    • @tallguyairsoft
      @tallguyairsoft  3 роки тому

      Sights are not adjustable, the front sight is a fixed fibre optic type. The rear sight matches the front sight in height as far as I can remember. Thanks for the kind words, glad it was of use to you!

      @@tallguyairsoft Is it not dove tailed and locked with screw like on some other army front posts? Good to know. For a moment i was thinking about getting used one to tinker. But in ths case no. Diferent parts i will surly change would change point of aim :-). A pity. Waiting for next video.

      @@jasongoldenfur1253 just took another look, the front sight is indeed removable and is locked into the compensator via a dovetail. The grub screw to secure it goes in from the top, meaning the red fibre insert has to be removed to get to the screw. I hadn’t noticed this before but you are indeed correct in that, for some strange reason, the rear sight sits higher than the front sight! Hadn’t noticed this before, very odd indeed

      @@tallguyairsoft Thank you. Some manufacturers do so to artificaly increase range i supose. If you are using pistol on field it does not matter. I adjust mine for AAIPSC so it does matter for me. Used do file down rear sight on KP-05 from KJW to get proper aim point. O hi-capas with bomar style sight it is not such big problem. BTW. just made some cuts on guarder 5.1 slide and got it to 64g. With guarder bbu and light weight AIP guide plug it is so quick now.

    I brought this pistol today brand new and i was wondering how to lower or higher the fps

    • @tallguyairsoft
      @tallguyairsoft  2 роки тому

      Not quite sure what you are asking, do you want to lower the FPS? Easiest way would be to use lower pressure gas, such as 144a.
      On the other hand, you can try higher pressure gas to raise the power a little and get a better felt recoil. Nuprol 3.0, Nuprol 4.0 and Guarder ‘black’ gas are good options
