Paddleboard Fly Fishing over Shallow Reef

A short session on my live watersports L2fish paddleboard casting some flies over some shallow reef for anything that bites.

The only time I've been out of the US was to the Caymans when I was 12 (early 70s). Remember crying when we left. Such an amazing tropical paradise.

Looks amazing there man, always wanted to do a salt trip I live in the states and only get trout on the fly and largies in lakes, want to feel a bonefish on the end of my rod and my drag scream

I wish they made their boards shorter and wider for more stability.

Yeah it is unfortunate that they only have two sizes but I find the width perfect. Any wider and it would be harder to paddle.

where off of 7 mile were you fishing, was it relativly close to lobster pot?

thanks! Definitely would be nice to have a fly shop here but theres just not a lot of fly fisherman in cayman so it would be hard to keep that business running. Alternatively it would be nice if a store like kirk marine could start stocking fly fishing gear.

@@watermancallum yeah man kirk marine looking thin at the moment. I definitely think there’s enough demand to get them stocking some basics but honestly they don’t seem to be the most focussed on variety haha
