Economic survey shows crime levels increased by 19% in 2023

The country has experienced a surge in the levels of crime over the last one year as economic tough times bite, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics indicate. The economic survey also paints a mixed bag of portions for the country’s education sector with the number of teachers in primary schools decreasing and student and pupil numbers increasing, while the justice system continued to lag behind with over half a million cases pending in courts
