@@jusletursoulglobaby - you speak as if you know what you're talking about. I spent 21 years in the Army and I had plenty of interaction with federal government employees. In my experience, the vast majority were very competent.

Not properly funding/equipping the Postal Service isn't just gonna delay mail in ballots, it will delay every piece of mail, including home and car bills, acceptance letters, green cards, Social Security checks, Food Stamps, insurance information, birthday/holiday cards, and prescriptions. So, doing this will impact literally everyone since we all get things mailed to us!
yup. especially on those security checks for some people is hella crucial to come on time. all the legitimately small businesses have already dealt with delayed or denied aid (e.g. PPP).
It already has been delaying mail and packages. Apparently its only going to get worse.

The mail system is so much more necessary amid a pandemic, but Trump and his shoe-lickers are further exacerbating the situation.
@Anita Bath after watching a short recap of his responses to a few questions, no...he doesn't give one rip about the mail, the people or the trust thats been given to him.
My packages are taking over 2 weeks and my mail comes about once a week and they don't deliver everything. I signed up for informed delivery so I can see what all mail I'm supposed to get and my car registration was supposed to come Wednesday and mail never came, mail ended up coming Thursday and only 1 piece of mail came and there was nothing from Wednesday.
I just want to know if his actions will be reversed before the election. I'm not American and it is scary to watch because this is unconstitutional and it seems that it won't be rectified.
This country kills, rapes, and subject black Americans to second-class status for fun and this is the scary part of the country to you?! Lol, ok. Also, no it won't get reverse. Obama made the Bush tax cuts permanent for a reason, so for a Biden administration to step in and make the USPS great again would means he and his cronies would have to benefit from it.
So far, since no politician can get rich off of the USPS, it's now a political punching bag.
Every American should vote early in person or take your absentee ballot to your local election precinct instead of mailing it and carefulling fill it out straight Democratic to save American Democracy and vote Trump and his Republican enablers out of office.
@@m.c.collins6777 Thanks for responding. This issue isn't the only horrifying thing about what is happening in your country. I kept my comment, specific to the video for a reason. To better understand what is happening, it is more effective to educate someone (like me who is non-American) than to assume I do not care about other serious issues.
It's really bad, the post office released a statement saying that would not reverse the shorting machines and several post offices took it on their own recognizance to reinstall the sorting machines. It's interesting because the people on the bottom of the pole hold actionable power but this guy doesn't even know an ounce about his job.
@@MrArtVein Most of the mail sorting machines were sabotaged or thrown in dumpsters to prevent their use, including brand new machines worth millions of dollars.

I am not defending Dejoy but I happened to watch the whole hearing so I will share what DeJoy said. He said that USPS has been receiving far more packages in box formats than envelopes over the years. These sorting machines he got rid of only sort envelopes. By getting rid of them, USPS is creating more space for packages.
"DeJoy still owned a large equity stake in XPO, totaling between" 30 to 75 million dollars. "On the same day in June that DeJoy divested large amounts of Amazon shares, he purchased stock options giving him the right to buy new shares of Amazon at a price much lower than their current market price," (CNN Aug 12, 2020).
So If USPS goes under or just loses more customers, Mr. Dejoy 🤑
@@twochainsandrollies .that statement might be true on a average day. But doing Christmas time and election time these machines are use to full capacity. And why do you need space to store packages when they need to ship them out asap.

DeJoy is the Postmaster General. There are damaging changes taking place in the USPS just prior to a major and highly contentious presidential election. He is the "genius logistician" and he cannot name the person who is responsible for directing these changes? Not only is it clear from this exchange that he is either intentionally obfuscating or there is no GENIUS to this man's ability to command logistics.
DeJoy: "... I did not order major overhaul plans ... the items you identify were not directed by me"

I love how he "takes responsibility" since he took the position, but the removal of the machines have been in the works for years, yet only started right after he took the position and he has no idea who or why it started happening. Yet that doesn't prove him unfit, and there could never be any reason he'd see why that means he should resign. How about... you are completely inept and have only hurt an institution that hurts your stocks in FedEx and Amazon.

Louis DeJoy needs to be charged personally to replace all the mail sorting machines he ordered destroyed and thrown away and face prison time for the Constitutional felonies of interfering and delaying the U.S. Postal Service mail and election interference.
If he didn't order the overall and the unplugging of the machines, then why doesn't he know who did and why didn't he ask the reasons for the overhaul? He's in charge. But, he's another man who refuses to accept responsibility for his actions.

One of the only times I'm proud to be from California....having her as a Congresswoman who takes no -&$# from anyone.
Wether or not those plans were pre-approved or started implementation before he arrived, fact is to our knowledge they only really went into effect after his arrival.
Those are alterations to procedure he needs to be aware of and him not being able to name who authorised them shows one of two things: 1) He has no control over his executives, which is bad, or 2) he is lying his pants off, which is worse. The entire reason for that hearing was the USPS's alterations, destruction of machines and reposesion of drop boxes, and him not being able to answer the most basic question regarding those things, ie who ordered it, are mindbogling.
Now that's an intelligent elected official with some Ball's.
