Scholl has the voice of an angel and does the definitive version of this great song.
Gorgeous singing. One of my favourite Purcell songs.
So beautiful! I love Andreas and his marvellous voice! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Enchanting. How lovely to see them both - hope that it's not too long before I can see Mr and Mrs Scholl at the Wigmore Hall very soon.
My favourite Purcell song with my favourite singer :-)
Gorgeous rendition, with the silkiest undertones! This is the very song that made me fall in love with the music of Purcell when our extraordinarily-gifted 9th-Grade Music teacher sang it to our class while accompanying herself on the piano. She had a glorious voice that influenced me for the rest of my life.
how wonderful to be able to "musizieren" with your spouse, that is a dream!
These two work very well together.
beautiful Andreas! wonderful accompaniment on the harpsichord too! thanks you both!
The harpsichord has a beautiful tone, with such clarity and such sustaining power.
Your beautiful voice has cured my headaches faster than any medicine ever could.
@@tulapoigy9284 well not everyone can have working ears, and a brain with IQ above room temperature
Quelle émotion la voix d'Andreas Scholl me procure toujours. Merci à vous
Was für eine durchsichtige Stimme des Kontratenors! Die zurückgehaltene Cembalobegleitung ist auch bewundernswert. Klasse!
A beautiful voice and music.
Lovely One of my favourite pieces
Beautiful done 💟
I've turned out to be fan #1 of this singer! Makes me cry!
"Music for a while
Shall all your cares beguile.
Wond'ring how your pains were eas'd
And disdaining to be pleas'd
Till Alecto free the dead
From their eternal bands,
Till the snakes drop from her head,
And the whip from out her hands.
Music for a while
Shall all your cares beguile."
Scholl's voice is unearthly beautiful. I like the countertenor sound. I believe his accompanist, Ms Halperin, is his wife.
How interesting that she more or less starts with Bach's Prelude in C minor [BMV 999].
@@EverBardo I think it's an interesting choice, too. A bit too fast for my taste, but...
Very beautiful too. Thank yoy !
Très beau vocalement !
Better and better... starting from the highest levels and up
bravo andreas, and brava tamar
Bravo !
just amazing
GRANDIOSE ANDREAS SCHOLL ++++ ******
J'aime votre voix ❤

Magnifique. Ça me fait pleurer 😭
Bravo!!!
SUPERIOR
amazing
Maravilhoso!
Genius Purcell - so much so that one listens to one of his ground bass motifs and thinks, "I could write one of them!" But come put pencil to blank stave and suddenly the truth dawns ... Purcell was the Master, home and safe, while I am about to be caught out running for first base! And I'm tolerably musical!
For a singer whose first language is not English, this is amazing. 👍❤️
This is good.
Ein größer Kunstler!
Very Good.....

Luminous recording.

A God!
A little like Alfred Deller, less soft but with more power... What stays the best version... Really l don't know... From France.
Scholl mesmerizes yet again. His gentle nature shines through everything he sings. However, I am certainly not an expert on harpsichords but there is something wrong here. Even Halperin seems agonized about having to play it. Why is it so metallic?
beautifully sung! my only criticism is that he missed all the ornamentation from the original score
💙🩵💛💚❤️💜
A bit of Bach to introduce Purcell, nice idea.
Counter tenors are the shit, by the way when Andreas and Tamar are coming to Mexico, maybe never :(
!!!
Bravo! What is the vocal microphone? I don't think it suits his voice.
Why that Bach-ish intro?
it's strange when he speaks his tone of a man.And when he sing like a woman having falsetto voice.this is ridiculous!
+Marvin Narbonetajr This is not ridiculous! In one of his interviews he shows how everyone can do this!!!! He got his academic education (Réné Jacobs)... and there are many countertenors. Maybe you have to listen to one of the interviews! and ....... when he speeks he has a normal voice!!!!!!
You are only listening to the notes, not actually hearing the many layers of the voice.
Bravo!
Amazing
❤❤❤❤❤
Andreas Scholl's voice is divine, singing my favorite some from Purcell!
