I had the same knife when I was younger and the best way to use the fire stick is to slowly shave a bit of the stick into your little fire starting basket and once you got a bit of shaving in there just shoot a few sparks at it from a few inches away and it will instantly catch it all on fire

I might have to do an overnight where I catch all my food.

I usually do that with my larger ferro rod. It works great!
What action and lenght rod do you use ?..is it one piece easier to move around?.
It’s an ugly stick ultra light. Packs down in 3 pieces. Easily the best rod for rivers and streams!
