Jdrunnin No, it’s not all about looks. It’s both. It’s a different perspective when men look at personality. Women just don’t understand it and write it off. Men look at openness and ability to find the good in their partners and try new things. It is traits of humbleness and body language. The way they talk freely shows what type they are. How they act when insecure or how they act when too sure of themselves. Both are important because men know women will leave them if someone better comes along. The fat one on the left, insecure about herself because of her weight, men look at it this way. That if she gets thinner she will feel confident and would leave them. So for her, there are 2 reasons she is last. Men are very romantic and believe in love and loyalty. That’s why the asian is first. Her body language and how she acted. Check body language and how they try to hide who they really are. Each of them are afraid to say where they think they belong. So both when it comes to looking at as LT but ST it’s on looks only. In this case it’s LT.

However, some guys would convince themselves that a girl is attractive because they pity her, and feel guilty about not finding her attractive, or maybe some guys do like sad girls.

Yes preach! I'm 38, I've seen the evil in women towards other women my whole life. Most of our insecurities come from other women. Most women try to impress other women so those women don't try to manipulate the whole room against them. Hard to explain, but It's very toxic. I believe men are more honest because they haven’t been fed the “everyone is a winner” rhetoric. They know not everyone can win from an early age.
A guy will accept that he’s not good looking for example, so he’ll play on his other strengths - money and/or his gift of the gab. The guy with money knows his material goods will attract the women he likes, the guy with looks knows women will gravitate towards him with minimum effort and the guy with a banging personality knows he has to put in more chat to attract and keep women around. I don’t feel women can accept a social hierarchy like this - we have been told for so long that we are all beautiful in our own way by other women, that when men say “well no, actually you’re not.” they seem like the evil, dishonest ones.

This doesn't work.
First, when similar social experiments has been done in better terms, the people involved has to wear the same outfit. Normally they wear fit one pieces with the same color, and even a hair cap. Because clothes and hair can communicate personality and are modifiable attributes and can cause bias. If we want to just focus on facial attributes they should all have wore a inflatable sumo costume and hair cap.
Secondly, guys should have valued the scale individually. By doing it as a group, it's biased. One of the guys is likely to take the lead and impose his opinion. Also if a guy is shy, less confident or too lazy to discuss is less likely to show disagreement and is going to conform to other people's opinion.

I mean, my personal opinion is that women being judged by looks all their life and compared to other women can make it hard to view yourself “objectively” in the looks department. Also, during certain cycles of the month when progesterone is high, it can have a huge negative impact on how we see ourselves in the mirror.
Lastly, I do think that there has to be a cut part of this episode where they get a chance to speak to one another for a bit since a few people mentioned judging by personality. Maybe they just leave that part out to make it seem a certain way? If that’s true, then I guess judging people on attractiveness can be about personality somewhat. I don’t think that was the main focus point for the men (maybe not the women either) but maybe it mattered somewhat?

I think another reason why girls are like "we're all beautiful in our own way" is because from a young age our appearance is made out to be so important and being pretty and being told you're pretty is like THE goal to most of us girls
Decent physical attractiveness is important (for both sexes) and you can't change your face that much, only your weight, fitness and presentation (hair, make-up, clothes). If anything the problem is these fake standards that often have very little to do with what people actually find attractive. Then people start pushing "anti-standards" that seek to deliberately subvert fake standards. It's mostly nonsense. Perhaps more traditional upbringings and environments wouldn't incentivise this unhealthy behavior.
Appearance os also the first thing women look at. They also compare themselves in makeup to men without makeup and will consider themselves too good looking for a guy who is actually objectively better looking than them.
It’s both praised and shamed for girls. We are made to feel like our value greatly depends on how pretty we are but then told we are spoiled and undeserving of things because we only get good treatment because we are pretty. 😑

I don't find myself attractive, but growing up my own family (mom and brother) constantly told me how ugly my face and body were and it followed me into highschool and a few girls told me I was ugly and "fat" I was 5'7 160 something being judged by a girl who was 5'1-2 200lbs and she resembled Mr. Jeremy Fisher off peter rabbit. The ugliest bitches seemed to always judge me. Today, I still hate my body and face and tell my bf if the opportunity for plastic surgery miraculously was on the table I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I almost get annoyed when my girl friends tell me I looked good when I was heavier. Like damn you’re basically telling my I lost weight for nothing. They mean well but its just an example how girls lie to each other. My husband on the other hand tells me he didn’t realize how big I was until he sees old photos. Theory 1: They evaluated what the women said they do as a big part of their ranking.
Theory 2: The more attractive of these 5 were a little more comfortable letting themselves be placed lower because they actually believe they are the more attractive among the group so aren't as sensitive about taking the bottom spots to spare the others feelings and to try to not appear conceited.

Idk I feel like a lot of dudes will agree with me, but obesity isn't attractive. In today's day and age, food is easy to access, AND in excess, it communicates low self-esteem and low self-respect to not be losing that weight. It's all subconscious, though, or at least most of it is. Guys just don't like the grotesque effect rolls and excess fat and cellulite have on a woman's body, even though she may have naturally good facial features.

I, and most people would agree that extra pounds are perfectly fine, while morbid obesity isn't. I was and still am overweight, but I've been losing weight. It is very difficult to uproot your habits that have overtaken you before, and to address a lot of internal issues that led you to that. Being fit and keeping your weight in check are grooming habits that people have, and a lack of it does show things . Also I want to make it known that the same goes for obese men. Through my own personal experience and through observing people close to me, it is showing self-disrespect by not upkeeping your body and making your body and mind suffer because of it. I wasn't particularly kind with my words because I looked back on how I felt when I was at my worst, people have told me that they feel very similarly. If you are overweight, underweight, or obese, and you feel truly happy with yourself, that's fine. But let's not kid ourselves to say that natural things aren't grotesque, there are many things in our bodies and on our bodies that aren't good. But you shouldn't think less of yourself as a person for having any of it, but show your body some love by upkeeping it and being at your best.

I don't get the "he MUST be over 6ft or I won't date him" mentality. I've only dated shorter men and I think women who put that restriction on men they date miss a lot of great men. But then again, everyone has some type of restriction when it comes to dating but maybe if they'd relax that restriction they'd find someone who may not fit their ideal, but ends up being perfect for them.
I think it's funny that what gals find attractive in each other is not the same as what guys think.
