    Sorry for the re-upload. We had a few key mistranslations pointed out to us, which have been fixed. As a very small team trying to cover multiple countries and languages, we take subtitles very seriously and pride ourselves in being able to convey the context, nuances and messages that our interviewees intend, rather than literal translations better than any other media outlets. We will continue to improve our subtitle quality going forward. Thanks everybody!

      Nice job!👍 I pointed out there were some mistakes in the last video yesterday, then they immediately took it down. I wasn't sure if it was because of me, but they really take things seriously.
      A tiny lapse can lead to a huge mistake. Translation is really important no matter which field you're in, really happy you guys corrected it, thx
      Keep up the good work, again, nice job!

      I think China could use more soft power if it wants to be popular around the world. For example, what South Korea is doing with its partly government supported entertainment industry which helps popularized Korean culture via K-POP, movies, variety shows

    • @FF-ky3mp
      @FF-ky3mp 6 років тому +58

      That softpower is blocked by American nukes, soft power only comes after hard power. If Russia nuked American tomorrow back to the stone ages America's soft power would've been a waste of a century and trillions spent in Hollywood and Mass Media.

      第一点我同意你的说法。
      第二点我觉得没差啊。一般上英语母语者都不会说 'under/following (政治人物的) lead'。如果硬要加入名词的话只能用 'under his rule' 代表这个意思,没有太大的贬义。但是我觉得最准确的翻译应该是 'Under President Xi'.

      He’s right about the whole one world alliance thing. We should all come together so that we can all be great and run a perfect planet. We should be waving a flag of earth and not flags of different countries! We need to realize protecting the place we live on is more important, we should be discovering space and the world beneath us but all we do is care about war.

    • @saint8257
      @saint8257 3 роки тому +1

      @@neverthatserious8870 That's a whole lot of idealism that won't be accomplished. Since China has formed it has assimilated many ethnics and cultures, not the reverse. You think America, Russia, China are willing to assimilate? To be ruled by one another? Or all 3 merged for the govt/representatives of each country to rule over the world's '1 country'? Impossible.
      The first obvious flaw is that'd be so inefficient. The US's Democracy has a similar system, and look how long it takes for decisions to make. Just by having 2 sides of *the same country* (Republican and Democrats), decisions to implement policies can be delayed for months, even years while they argue and try to oust one another while letting the public suffer.
      Imagine that on the scale of 3 countries - and I'm not even talking about the whole word yet, just US, Russia, and China - all 3 of these countries have vastly different cultures, and vastly different governance views. Especially US and China, and the way they do things are also different. The same scenario will happen, with even much more variables.
      But the 2nd flaw is obviously neither side will accept one another. That is why they rule their nations differently.
      In my honest opinion, that one country on the entire Earth under one rule is impossible to realize in the foreseeable future.
      The amount of propaganda America and its Western allies is spewing these recent years smells more like it's slowly cooking up to another conflict with China more like.

Many Americans feel that China's belt and road iniative is a threat in the way that China could replace a lot of American culture around the world with Chinese culture. However this has been(likely intentionally) misinterpreted in China to make people believe Marx's theory is just an re-invention of the ancient Chinese ideology "Great Unity". This channel is fantastic.
    As an American, it's difficult to engage with the Chinese people. The language barrier and distance make it incredibly difficult.
    In the interest of bettering relations between two different peoples, it's vital that we can see each other and hear each other. Obviously the US and China have many disagreements, but we also agree with quite a bit. I've walked away from this video with a more positive outlook on the Chinese people.

      Hi, just saw your comment 3 years later. I am not sure where you live, but if you are indeed interested, you should be able to find quite some Chinese students in the largest few universities in almost every state. And no doubt they all speak decent enough English. And I will be more than happy to make friends with people who are interested in China, too.

      All creatures seek advantages and avoid disadvantages, or they will be eliminated. Everyone, every group and every country is considering their own interests. But who can benefit the world better when they can benefit themselves??? Who affects the fair development of other countries when they can benefit themselves??? (this fairness is not the starting point of their own interests).Each person, group and country has different judgments on value, which affects their views on "fairness".This is the root of every conflict

      The American Dream is about how poor immigrants to America can hopefully strike it rich one day, and move up the social ladder to a higher rung. That's why they allow virtually any immigrant into the country.
      The Chinese Dream is the eventual rejuvenation of our nation, and for that, China needs what's called "human capital", such as scientists, researchers, businessmen, entrepreneurs, and people who actually contribute back to China. That's why our immigration laws tend to be stricter.

      More like China is the most racist county on gods green earth. and just claim cultural ignorance anytime the subject comes up but that society is the most homogeneous society in the world and thats why super power status will never be achieved, there is no conflicting view points allowing room for innovation. Right now our European brothers and sisters are willing to test out this view point only because they dont know any better but once they start stealing enough of there intellectual property that one belt one road crap is going out the window. China is just thieving peoples ideas without wanting to assimilate them into they're society and that's the bottom line.
