    @TheHolisticTraveller I searched thajiwas glacier on google maps, but not sure if i found the correct place. On maps its near "Himilayan Kashmir Trek" is that the correct place? Would appreciate if you could share starting and end points of the trek.

      @@mistumukherjee7553 So glad to hear this that you will trek! It’s moderate but achievable ♥️ GPS shows more or less the right way. Network ki guarantee paharon pe hoti nahi hai. So, pehle se map offline save karke nikalna. All the best!

    Not sure but it seems like you actually went to a wrong place, In your video at 5:14 timeline, you showed people were walking on a paved path. I think that's the right path . The other you tube videos that I have seen , also seems showed those paved path. Again maybe I'm wrong. Also please keep in mind that glaciers are thousands of years old ice, it doesn't matter if there is any snow in the winter are or not, The glacier wouldn't disappear.

      As you can see in my video, the mountains are absolutely snowcapped even in Autumn which shows that the glacier is intact. But they take you to a Maggi point, where there's lots of ice at the base of the glacier (you'll find them in other videos) that is not visible in October because it melts. So, I avoided going there.

    There is a road actually tht goes till thajjwas park which is closer to thajjwas glacier the locals don’t tell you about it to charge u fr pony….even the road is dismantl d at starting to avoid people from going through it…. It still shows on gmaps if u search thajjwas park

    I am planning to go next week. Do you think trekking is good idea in this time when there should be some snow on roads?
    I have been there last year in the month of june. I took pony ride then.

    • @TheHolisticTraveller
      @TheHolisticTraveller  10 місяців тому

      No. Please don’t trek when there’s snow. It’s not a good idea. You might skid if you don’t have the right gears.

      You can enjoy the view of Sindh all through your travels in and around Sonmarg! ^_^
      Overall time it took was around 4 hours.

    Hi mam , a lot of thanks for this video !
    Me and my parents, around 60 but fit, are travelling next week to sonmarg..
    You told there is an easier route from snow king hotel point .. how far is it from the cab/taxi stop ?
    How would we know if we have reached the glacier?
    And you came down the other side? You knew the route?why not the same route? Is there a possibility of getting lost?
    And zoji la pass is closed in Oct?
    I will be grateful if you can answer.. thankyou mam

    • @TheHolisticTraveller
      @TheHolisticTraveller  3 місяці тому +1

      1. The cab can drop you directly at the snow king hotel point because it's way before the parking lot. 2. I knew we reached because we met people who went on horses and they told how they were cheated because there was no separate layer of ice at the maggi point. You can see the glacier filled with ice from any angle as you climb up via GPS. 3. We came down from the other side through some generous people who educated us about that route based on their hotel staff's guidance. That other route was a bit difficult but definitely shorter one. 4. Yes, high possibility of getting lost so make sure you have the offline copy of the map from Google. 5. Zoji la pass usually remains open in October except Fridays when it requires maintenance. Still, check the weather once before travelling there. Hope it helps!

    We r going to visit Kashmir this week...m interested in trekking.... how to find the easiest road?.. is there any guide available?...nd what to do if I want to do it by myself

    • @TheHolisticTraveller
      @TheHolisticTraveller  Рік тому

      You can take a guide from the base and tell them you’re interested in trekking. But, this week it has snowed in Sonmarg. So, you won’t be able to trek on ice. It’s best you avail the sledge and enjoy the amazing views! If there are green valleys only then you can trek like I did following the horse route. Or, avail a guide who can help you to trek. Hope I answered your question. Have a great trip! And, don’t forget to subscribe. Much love. ❤

    Hey Hi! I wanted to know if the route for trekking and pony ride route the same or different?

    • @TheHolisticTraveller
      @TheHolisticTraveller  Рік тому

      I trekked through the pony ride route as I was fooled by some people. But, there is a different trek route which is less messy and comfortable. You can start your trek from the Snow King Hotel point. It will take much lesser time. Hope it helps! 😊

    • @TheHolisticTraveller

      There are two trips. Either you take the one which we took to Thajiwas Glacier either by trekking, sledges or horses (depends on the ice) or you can go and visit the Zojila pass. You will get cars for that from the Sonmarg Parking lot. Have a great trip!
