Shane Battier was SUCH an underrated player! His BB IQ was off the charts! That comeback vs the cavs at Cleveland where Bron hits the pull up 3 to tie and does the “Silencer” celebration while the whole crowd boing/cheering is PEAK VILLAIN LEBRON 💯
LeBron James in 2013 was in his peak form. Not only was his athleticism at his best, but he also improve his rebounding, passing, and defense, but he was also shooting 40% from 3, which was a career high for him. To put the last stat in context, the best way for teams to defend him back then would be to sag off, so that he can only attempt to shoot instead of driving to the rim, where he would have gotten a layup or a foul. Oh yeah, and he was shooting 56% from the FG, which is even for impressive because he was a small forward who made his buckets by either driving to the basket or shooting. Dude finished second in the running for Defensive Player of the Year, made an All-Defensive First Team, and he was also one vote away from becoming the first unanimous MVP before Steph Curry. That one vote went to Carmelo Anthony, who had a pretty great year for himself in 2013.
Best season of all time. 60% inside the arc 40% from 3. All-NBA, first team defense, MVP, FMVP, 2nd DPOTY, 27 win streak. You can’t convince me there’s another basketball player better than that all time
Y'all also forget that they cheated him out of that Defensive Player of The Year award. He was the best defensive player in the league all season and could legitimately guard 1 through 5. They gave it to Marc Gasol, who was second-team All-NBA Defense. Please. They just didn't want LeBron to win every single award that year.
@@kobe2kalldayhe is. The question will be asked to Lebron when he retires and who knows better than the man himself and I guarantee you he will say 2018. It has nothing to do with athleticism and all that other specific statistics it’s about the experience and basketball IQ he had at that point. You take the 2013 version of Lebron and put him on that 2018 cavs team then they would’ve been eliminated in the first round against the pacers. It was pure basketball IQ game sense mastery that allowed him to overcome all of those series with a sub par roster.
@@jakeman0252018 Lebron was a decline from the previous era where he was much slimmer and much better on defense. 2018 was offensively one of his best (the post season was insane), but his peak was definitely during the Heat era where he could focus more on defense and was still an absolute demon on offense. His overall clutch ability in 2018 was crazy as fuck though, genuinely insane how he just carried his team multiple times and came up on top over and over until the warriors ended it all.

It really annoys me when people claim that LeBron, Wade, and Bosh started superteams. That is factually false. Superteams have always existed, but they just were not acknowledged as such back then. They teamed up together to beat the Big 3 Celtics, who were actually the first modern superteam. Also, they didn't tell other (super)stars to start teaming up with each other. They chose to.
