    Very excited to come across your channel Kevin and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming top end video. I just found myself a 1999 KE100 and started to dig into it this week. I've ripped and cleaned the carb this evening though I am unable for some reason to get it to drop into 1st gear. (shift up from neutral is no problem and I understand that this bike is 1-N-2-3-4-5) Any insights you might share on that particular issue? Thanks again for the great series! watching some clutch tear downs now. =)

      not at all unfortunately! tried mid-clutch positions as well but no go.

      neutral just seems to be the lowest "available" gear it would seem.

    in back of the clutch there the linkage i would try there first if not there then might have a bent or broken shift fork

      ah HA! sure enough, I just got the outer casing off that exposes the clutch assembly and what do you know but a broken piece of fork fell out of the bottom. Now the rest of the disassembly continues while I get into the gearing. yay! ;)

      broken fork in back of the clutch or did you pull the transmission apart and find a broken fork

      The broken piece of fork was floating free on the clutch side and came out with the remaining oil when I opened the case up to expose the clutch assembly/kickstart shaft area. It seems like I'm going to have to remove the engine and then split the engine case to get to the transmission, right?

      yes you are. you are at that point going to need a complete gasket and seal kit

      Sounds like a good way to spend the next week. ;) Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to push me in the right direction Kevin! You really saved me a bunch of time. I've been digging in forums and videos for the past week on this thing and even your initial videos were so incredibly specific and helpful for KE100 owners the world over. Forks and seals are ordered and I'll cross the bigger bridges as they come. Let ya know how it all works out when its done! =)

    Hey I am working on a 1999 ke 100. Cylinder is just fine but rings and piston are on there last leg... got a new piston and stuff. Do I HAVE to take the cylinder and piston to a machinist or can I just put the new piston in and be fine?

    • @2strokeguru
      @2strokeguru  4 роки тому

      No because it is nikasl coated new piston and rings just check ring gap

    If I put four stickers on it then will it go twice as fast?

      It will be like a nitrous injection twin turbo super charged bike I personally would stick with the 2 it comes with because honestly who needs a 1000+ hp ke100
