The 16th to 16th triplets calculation doesn't seem correct. It's always factor 1.5, because with triplets you play 1.5x the number of notes (3 instead of 2, so 3/2 = 1.5). An example: 16th triplets at 120bpm are equal to normal 16th at 180bpm because: 120 * 1.5 = 180 to counter-check, 16th at 180bpm calculated to their corresponding 16th triplet speed: 180 / 1.5 = 120 bpm Regarding your calculation that means: normal 16ths at 250bpm are equal to 16th triplets at roughly 167bpm: 250 / 1.5 = 166.6666.... But yeah.....still bloody fast :D
Ahhhh thanks man. That could be that I was doing it wrong there :D As i have said, if you can proove me wrong and you did! :D I never was shure if this was the right way. Thanks alot man :)
@@justin.hombach Gerne :) Ich brauch die Rechnung immer mal wieder, weil ich schnelle Sachen oft gerne mit Triplets übe, aber wissen will wieviel bpm das in normalen 16tel sind.
I really like your explanations and how you break down and then combine everything again on day 3. Loved the analogy to training for guitar like you do for sports. Your playing and teaching are fantastic! Look forward to more from you!
Ansonsten weiterhin viel Erfolg 💪🏼
The Majora's Mask approach. I like this method too. I think it's also an excellent way to address a pile of new music...like say you were going to an audition and had to learn 6 songs in half as many days. I also think that it's not even worth trying to learn something if it's not glued into your brain already. If you can't hum the guitar parts or you're dealing with a song with a tricky arrangement or lots of time signature variances...you don't even have a shot. Pete Thorn has an excellent video in the "So You Wanna Be A Rockstar* video series about digesting a lot of material...more specifically a setlist in order. It's all about allowing your brain time to catalog all that information.
As always, top work. I wonder if you could take a look at Jason's computer-like arpeggios in the second half of the guest solo he did for Purge of Lilith in the song "Warrior".
I suggest checking out Manolis Chiotis' (a legendary bouzouki playeŕ ) solo in Perasmenes mou agapes (περασμένες μου αγάπες my lost loves). He was also a guitarist and he invented the 4th string bouzouki that is tuned similar to a guitar and changed the whole way of playing make it much more a solo instrument ,creating a whole bunch of virtuosos ..And of course he was a very serious alternate picker. Although I have a very different approach in learning you really gave me some cool directions... You see I love alternate picking too. . Ps. And as far as I know JP is an avid Al di Meola 's fan. ..
@@justin.hombach Check if you didn't already Al di Meola 's song Chasing an Alien on an Arab Desert. Musicaliaty at it's maximum and of course...technique! Thanks for the awesomeness!
That 8:58 lick or the reverse PG 4 note lick with inside picking is near impossible for me. I can do the original lick better (outside picking). But another one that kills me is to play one note on b string and 3 on high e, even with outside picking it’s always hard.
Keep it up!
Ich hab gerade kein spezifisches lick im kopf aber ein video wo du etwas von vitalism lernst wäre super cool. Ed garcia ist meiner meinung nach einer der most underrated guitarists. Trinity ist z.b technically crazy.
Ohhh yeesss... I love the new edu falaschi album and I got the tabs from the songs from Robert, was chatting a little bit with him a few weeks ago. Great guy and extreme player... some day I will try ancestry or land ahoi
The conversion of 16th to 16th triplets is. 66. 132 bpm 16th note triplets is the same as 16th motes at 200. Or... 250bpm 16ths is the sane as 165 16th triplets. Quite fast, and more than that, Jason shows a fair amount of stamina too, which is the tough part.
Hey man, you should really do a lesson on fermented offal discharge by necrophagist, I find your video lessons to be a lot easier to follow along than the tabs, and I can't play the Rhythm for the life of me, only the solo .-.
For you it‘s probably not a difficult lick but I‘ve been trying to learn the fast section from the solo of Barstool Warrior by Dream Theater for some weeks now. I‘ll definitely try to apply your technique to it, especially the one about practicing the segments individually! Thanks a lot for the video(s) :) Cheers from an Austrian! :D
I believe I discovered the reason why you like this guitar so much, it would be because without a headstock you can't hit the wall, right? Great video too!

Just checked out the song, crazy good song. Never been that much into stratovarius, even tho my manager once was the manager of timo. Def. need to listen more to them 👌😄
