Hans, this game seems cool and complex but less popular then the easier to understand company of heros. you should do a quick tips video and which key binds are most important as in this game there is a lot! ... just something to help us with our micro!
@@yaka169 idk the budget and scale looks alot smaller. Little details and stuff like damage and the battlefields as well. Doesn’t feel as tactical and in depth with customization
Got to admit this looks pretty sick, Ive always loved Men of War the depth of the actual game but I couldnt get into it fully because the controls were way too complicated.... But this looks like the simplified it... And I have always thought man if this game just had simple more intuitive control scheme its the perfect game... Ive read a lit of articles comparing it as a cross between coh and men of war..... Yes Im excied for this!
MoW2 is a huge step back from GoH: Osftront. I'm not sure what the developers were thinking with this, tbh. The graphics engine is akin to or worse than MoW: AS2, animations are poor - I could go on.
? not sure what you are talking about but from my point of view it´s a step forward, in as2 and gates of hell you only have very few artillery pieces in pvp and like no air force at all in the best caste for special points, that is not the case in men of war 2 here you really have combined arms battles, as2 and gates of hell is like 90% tanks and inf in pvp
In terms of scale, it’s COH < MOW < Steel Division. MOH has the most detail though. In MOW: Assault Squad 2 every gun has an ammo count and soldiers can carry a limited amount of ammo. So soldiers can run out of sub machine gun ammo, switch to pistols, then later pick up a machine gun and ammo from dead bodies.
Not sure if relic rushed out COH3 because they knew this was on the horizon I was still playing assault squad when COH2 was released and then started playing assault squad 2 not long after, maybe they were right to be worried as their playerbase possibly get more from this kind of game with the tactics and its focus on the importance of individual units. Oh and if history repeats itself they will just release addons rather than the stupid unlock system that COH has had since COH2.
I am playing all the historical missions and Artillery is the only way I can win thse missions..tanks and infrantry die quicker than fruit flies on vinegar...some of the missions are exceptionally hard. you are given 4 soldiers to combat an entire Corps, take out tanks and personell carriers...
You can't really compare Men of War with Company of Heroes. CoH is closer to Starcraft and Age of Empires, where the focus is on building up bases, generating resources and teching up to more advanced units. Granted, MoW2 looks like it's going in a more casual friendly direction like CoH, but games like Men of War: Assault Squad 2 and Gates of Hell: Ostfront have their focus entirely on tactics, dynamic gameplay and immersion. There's no squad unit with 6 or 7 men in it that all share the same health pool, so each individual soldier has their own health and even their own inventory and can be controlled directly. So if you're in a dire situation trying to push back the enemy advance and you only have one man left who's out of ammo, you can take direct control of him and take your fallen comrade's ammo or pick up a dead enemy soldier's weapon and ammo and attempt to hold them off until you can get reinforcements to that position. That's only a tiny example of how dynamic those games are and also a good example of why there's no base building mechanic. You don't have time to build a base because you have to pay full attention to the battle and how it's unfolding. It's so satisfying taking control of your tank to take out enemy armor and allow your infantry to push a position. Not to mention the mods that make them even more immersive. If you haven't played them, I highly recommend checking out Assault Squad 2 or Ostfront.
In my opinion, this game tries to combine GoH and CoH in one game but fails in that. Its not complex and realistic enough to compete with GoH and on the other side the gamplay is too slow to challenge CoH. I loved the first MoW and Assault Squad 2, but the new one doesnt meet the standard of the old one.
The game is judged harshly by veterans of the predecessors (Men of War, Men of War: Assault Squad 2, recently Gates from Hell: Ostfront) while it is actually trying to revive the RTS genre by attracting (new and former) players for micromanagement-heavy gameplay. I personally loved Assault Squad 2 and GoH: Ostfront. But I have been a former player! I just don’t have the time anymore to invest hours into a super-realistic game and effectively nothing exciting might happen during that time. 😜 Hyperrealism is wonderful and challenging. If you still want tactical depth while expecting exciting situations in most battles you play and a well-crafted feeling of continuous progression on the map and between game modes, you might like MoW2 a lot. I do.
Love ❤ to watch you playing MoW2! Greetings from Germany

The nice thing IMO about this game is the direct control. That's really micro, but you know, the more micro it is, the more damage towards enemies.
It kinda looks like COHs lite. But yeah coh3 was definitely rushed unfortunately
@@sharebear421 nope it's more than coh. Especially with the line of sight case.

The controls are way more confusing now I’ve played all of them and this one is by far the most strange and confusing

Do you like this better than coh3? The height maps seem different that is for sure. Do you play steel division 2, how does that compare?

How many factions in the game?
3 = Germany,Russia and USA. Maybe more in the future
@@Sepcial2324 Hope they add Brits, Japan, and Panzer Div too like mowas2. Damn the gameplay looks pretty good though.
awful arty, but the guy is a god with grenades LOL
so how do you replenish lost soldiers and armor? do the captured points give you resources / manpower?
Unfortunately you can't, you get a set amount of units per echelon and once they are dead, that's it.
