This video spoke directly to several of my life issues and confirmed my own interpretations of my chart. I too have Mars in Cancer in the 12th in a day chart, although I'm two years older than this client. I also had issues with my father and aggression (although it's finally been starting to lessen over the past year). And I also had a mother who passed away from degenerative conditions when I was young: I was 24, and she was 60. My moon is at 29 degrees Libra square Mars, and my dad was hyper-controlling of my body, particularly my weight. My midheaven is in Aries (coincidentally at the exact degree and minute of this client's Mercury). I feel like the driving force behind my life is to overcome the wounds and adversities inflicted upon me by my father. I don't feel like I'll be able to be a functioning and mature adult until I confront those issues. It has been the biggest struggle of my life, but I know that I must do it in order to be who I'm meant to be. I would say that my spiritual yearnings are certainly linked to the themes of my natal Mars. It's beyond the scope of Hellenistic astrology, but just as an aside, I have Chiron in the 12th and Pluto in the 4th. The only person in the world who I have been able to actually access my anger with (to the point of explosive rage) is my father. It doesn't help things that he has a stellium in Aries in his 4th (sun, moon, Mars, and Mercury), but then again he too had major anger issues with his own father. Funnily enough, my sister has a 12th house sun ruling her 4th house, and things were/are also difficult between her and Dad.
I'm a Leo Rising, day chart, with Jupiter in the first house, but it's Rx. I also have Virgo Moon second house, but mine is conjunct Saturn and my North Node. I have the Sun, Mars, and Mercury in my 7th Aquarius. I have a similar journey, but my parents were not religious. I became fundamentally religious on my own, trying to save my family from my abusive husband. I ended up an atheist for years and studied psychology. Grew and changed, left that husband in 2016. I didn't know it at the time, but I was having a nodal return. I found astrology in 2017 and spirituality became a thing in my life at that time.
considering how much of ASTRONOMY (and thus astrology) itself is related to ancient greco-roman religion, it totally makes sense to examine hellenistic astrology. the names of the planets themselves are even derived from greco-roman gods and goddesses! aries, venus, mercury..etc. thanks for putting out this esoteric information :D this is like esoteric of the esoteric. even ppl who study astrology don't know about hellenistic astrology lol
Thank you for this video demonstration of a chart reading. I too am Leo rising with a 2nd house Virgo Moon @ 20 degrees, (and South Node in Cancer) so Neptune is influencing my emotions, personality and habits. How? Well, in the past 18 months I have dived much more into spirituality and meditation, esp. reading and learning from the writings of P. Yogananda. I love reading charts too, esp. my own. My b'day is Nov. 1, 1953 @ 10:57 pm in Rapid City, S.D. And my dad was an alcoholic atheist. My mom, however, was a saint, a devout Irish-Catholic who let me drop the Church at age 18, no questions. We didn't talk about sex , religion or politics in my All-American (Long Island, NY) family growing up in the '60's. We just watched television and ate bad food!
Wow, this was amazing and really helped me out with my daughter’s chart! I saw that her and your client have the same birth year with the Sun in Taurus and Moon in Virgo. My daughter was born May 20th with the Sun on the cusp of Gemini and is Virgo Rising so the houses are moved back by one place. My daughter also had a tyrannical father who was emotionally and verbally abusive though not related to religion and Mercury had gone direct to 5 degrees in 9th house Taurus. However, both her and her father have Mercury in Aries qualities. I found it interesting that she also had to deal with me having 2 chronic illnesses and being mostly bed ridden for a couple years in her early teens, which greatly affected her. Mars in 11th House Cancer at 26 degrees, also Venus at 13 degrees aren’t conjunct but Venus may sometimes represent the mother (?) and the Moon is trine Mercury in Taurus, of course ruled by Venus. Sorry, I only began studying astrology in November. With the Moon at 0 degrees on the 1st house cusp, is it carrying qualities of 12th house also? That’s really my only question as I’m wondering how much having planets on or close to the cusps of signs and houses like she does affects those planets. Only the lot of fortune is in her 4th house, which I know nothing about yet, maybe this is more related to me than her father. Anyways this has provided a great jumping point for me, so thank you and I can’t wait to start your course in June! I also just noticed that my daughter has Sun square Moon, a lot of tension between mom and dad growing up, even continuing after I divorced him- maybe this represents the inner struggles, conflicts and low self worth my daughter has 😢 How much of it I don’t know but she has resentment towards me for my illness and her childhood so as sad as it makes me, I’m grateful for the awareness and hopefully the opportunity for some healing. Much gratitude 🙏
I enjoyed this video, and I'm very much looking forward to this course. I have strong mars, 4th house, and 12th placements whichever way you cut it, whole signs or placidis. I started my journey with whole sign houses then switched to placidis as it resonates so strongly with my moon, which is moves from 1st into 12th with placidis. Switching back to whole signs, my Saturn/NN moves from 11 into 12th though and I'm wondering if that might be part of the 12th house feeling. We will see! My combust Mars is quite strongly 4th house and mercury joins the 4th with whole signs. You saying father and ancestral karma is more strongly focused in the 4th house makes me think a bit. There is definitely heavy father figure wounding in my life. I associate Saturn with father as well and putting father in the 12th house interacting with the fourth makes some sense to me.
Enjoyed this reading with a focus on Mars and the 12th house in a day chart. Thank you! Question : using whole sign houses, how would one consider an out of sign/house based conjunction ?
If it is applying within 3 degrees across a sign boundary it often indicates something that "will happen" but with some specific change of topics involved as the planet crosses into a new sign/house.
I love watching/reading examples of hellenistic astrology because it helps me learn as opposed to just ingesting information. I'm confused about two things though: her 12th and 4th houses are configured by trine, so then why was it still so negative? Also, the ruler of the 12th is in the 2nd, so did that come up in the interpretation?
So powerful. I too am an April 24th Taurus (born in 77 though) and I too had an overwhelming Father figure who was verbally abusive and a pillar of “the Assembly of God “ church... Man. I too took a sabbatical from church, God, source...thinking if “that” was God then get me out of here. I too looked to astrology and for the last 3 years or so have come close to God ...in my way...through astrology...and of course can’t speak of this to my father😅🙃
Interesting but I cast the chart with Placidus houses and our outer planets and found a lot of great interpretations: Pluto conjunct the IC, Neptune conjunct the NN square Mercury, Uranus opp Mars, and the Sun with its Tsq in the house of religion (9th). Not to mention almost all the planets : Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, SN and Pluto all transiting opp her Mars Chiron, And SN. Her recent interest in astrology must be related to Uranus transiting her Sun and freedom from her father's "faith". For me these facts explain a lot more of her journey.
Interesting observations. I dont think the outer planets add anything the ancient view doesn't already give, but they are also just different lenses that often say the same things in different ways!
If that were so then the Mars transit of a natal Sun (every 2 years for a short time) would be the same as the Pluto transit of a natal Sun(exact sometimes 4-6 times over a period of years and never again in your lifetime . Isn't Pluto transiting your sun now?
@@brucemclean9016 false because transits are only one very small part of how we assess when the promise of a natal chart will manifest. You need to study the broader tradition of ancient timing techniques and natal analysis before you will have enough to understand why the outer planets aren't necessary...beautiful and cool, but not "necessary."
Hi ! This was great , specially because I have mercury retrograde in Aries and mars in pieces . I love how you structured your example! My question is what’s the difference of the nodes in Hellenistic astrology versus modern ? Do you have a video about it ? Can’t wait to start the course this June :)

HEY GREAT VIDEO!!!!!! I WOULD LIKE TO ASK U A QUESTION WHAT IF U HAD JUPITER IN THE SIGN aquarius iN MY YOUR NATEL 12 HOUSE AND ASCENDENT IS PIECES I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS FOR ME THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY MIKE
How would you describe south nod in the 5th house Leo 4 degrees in my chart and north node4 degrees Aquarius 11th house along with my sun 13 and mercury 4 . I love that the south node does not have to be a down fall . Curious how this is differently interpreted from modern or placidus
A short q... Do you recomand whole sign HOUSE or inequal houses for solar return chart? Because for this year my sun's return would be in 12 HOUSE in virgo, and the AC in virgo too... In whole sign HOUSE sun would be în 1 HOUSE... Thanks!
Acyuta I'm concerned because my Ascendant Ruler is conjunct the south node in the 9th House. Does this mean I will possibly develop a degenerative condition?
I got here because I learned that there is true sideral astrology which brought me to helenístic astrology… soooo what’s the most accurate? I’m lost lol 😂
Love hearing examples from readings!
Jupiter in the first house, all 7 planets in different houses, good job :) She probably made you feel like the best astrologer in the world!

good analysis for out of sect malefic. Both Jupiter in 1st & Saturn 7th Aquarius look like they provide a balanced outcome.

Moon in 2nd has to "pay rent" to Virgo there, this house is ruled by Mercury tho. Moon has no power there.

What would be the interpretation of Jupiter Rx in Cancer in the 1st House ?
Too much to explain and also need the full chart to contextualize!
Acyuta I'm concerned because my Ascendant Ruler is conjunct the south node in the 9th House. Does this mean I will possibly develop a degenerative condition?
4th house is father???
Yes! In ancient astrology the 4th is the house of the father, the tenth the mother, though sometimes the 4th will be related to parents in general.
