The creek behind my grandparents in rural W.A was a magical place. Now it’s like the river dirty no cascading water weeds everywhere sad really. That place felt special in that era and it’s lost to new generations.

As an indigenous person from America, thank you so much for honoring the original inhabitants of Australia. It was just lovely. I'm originally from Wyoming and the countryside reminded me of how my home state looks when it's had a lot of rain. I'm dying to visit Australia because my great great grandfather came from there in the 1890s. Happy New Year!!

This video brought memories to mind of family camping holidays to the Burdekin River in Queensland 30 years ago. The camping spot we went to is now under water after the building of the Burdekin dam. Still, it was nice to think of that again.

That was lovely. And I related to the part about thinking waterfalls and rivers were magical places. I grew up in rural WA (in a similar era) and I remember climbing off the bridge across the local river to play on the large island in the middle of the river - I thought it was such an exciting place. I also read a lot of Enid Blyton - so yes, there were goddamn pixies and fairies everywhere in my mind.
Aw this was so relaxing. We have such a beautiful country here in Australia I love it and you are so right with all the rain we have been getting in the south east its so nice to see areas I remember through droughts looking so arid, now lush.

Positively stunning. Thank you for inviting us into your family's world, Auntie. I get where you're coming from with the enchantment of the countryside. I live in the American Southwest in the middle of nowhere (population: 1049) and I feel that magical feeling you described every time I see the sun rise and set. The sky gets splashed with vivid oranges and pinks and purples and reds at sunrise and sunset. If you're ever in the region, stay up late and catch a sunrise. You won't regret it.
On a side note......there needs to be a follow up to Priscilla Queen of the Desert. It needs to star you and feature a drive across the American southwest to get to Las Vegas. Somebody needs to write that.
Makes my ❤ ache for home. The Isa is no where as lush and green but the caverns and cascades during the wet are spectacular, and the sunrise, sunsets magical. Australia is truly a lucky country. We need to acknowledge the Kalkadoon tribe as the first peoples of Mount Isa and we really do need to take care of her because we aren't doing so great right now. Awesome job of showing off Meriwa. It's a beautiful place. Congrats

Great video! I spent time growing up in “the upper hunter” too, from 1980.. not the vineyards 😂…. More horse country… Murrurundi!. I remember Merriwa.. as a kid, I went to swimming carnivals at Merriwa and Denman.

Great seeing the NSW countryside. Hoping to get back to your part of the world next March from the UK. Missing the place, was last over before the lockdown in 2020. Have friends in North Sydney and we may be going to stay in a holiday rental in Mudgee.
