    Thank you so much of taking the time to do this video. Minor criticism: Maybe instead of setting both units to 55% volume, you should measure the SPL at the microphone. When I measure the SPL from my speakers playing this video, the Level is consistently louder, and psychoacoustics say louder sounds better. Personally, I prefer the punchy bass extension of the BS2. The Level has great highs, mid-range and high bass, but is missing the low bass (not so unlike the older BeoLab column speakers 1, 6000, 8000s). However, the fact it can hang so close to a much more expensive speaker, is portable and can play in a variety of positions is quite remarkable.

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  3 роки тому +2

      I know, they are levelled as best I can irl and then in post, but most of the difference you still hear is dynamics and directionality. I'd say most of the comments say they still prefer the BS2 so it seems louder isn't always better (anymore) :p What you're hearing is roughly accurate so your speakers/headphones aren't lying to you :D

    Thanks for putting them to the test. It would be great to see these two and the Balance side by side :). But this is a tough one. Using my E8 Sport which were conveniently next to me, I felt that the BS2 had a more pleasing, well balanced soundscape, which especially came through with Henrik’s track, especially with regards to its bass. By comparison, the Level sounded a bit boxy and boomy to me. I think it might really come down to the type of music you listen to. However! I do need to give this a second listen with my H95s, or really just drop by a B&O dealer. I won’t make my conclusion yet based on the E8s :). Also, my own test tracks would be the real test. The Level is definitely on my shortlist, and owning a Beosound 1 I doubt I’d go for the Beosound 2. At the end of the day, I’ll hold on until Beolink becomes available for the Level, with a cover possibly in smoked oak or walnut. It does look sweet next to the rest of the older speakers you had in there :).

      I agree that the BS2 sounds more open, but lacking the punch of the Level . I’m thinking the ‘level’ would become a tiring listen over long periods ...... the upper base seems over powering for the body it’s in . Though, I agree you need to personally test in person with your own music tracks 🎶

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  3 роки тому +3

      Yes the level very much holds it's own against a Beosound 2. To my ears it's better in some places and not so much in others, then again the level sits below the price point of a Beosound 1 so this should not have been a fair comparison really and yet it is :p

      @@Mikipedia That may well be the case :). I do think the Level sounds excellent, despite my comment of it perhaps being boxy and boomy. I simply meant it comparing to the BS2. Of course the BS2 has got the acoustic lens. While thecLevel has got different tech altogether. Anyway, as with B&O they are both incredible, and the price was definitely a driving force behind the comparison. I think the comparison is spot-on! It is pretty close between the BS1-2, Level and Balance. For me anyway. They are all different and very attractive in their own way. For me personally, it is a hard call. But I do need Beolink.

    Ik heb je kanaal onlangs ontdekt en kijk nu al de hele vakantie naar je filmpjes 😄 Erg leuk om te zien en horen. Ik heb een vraag. Ik heb op dit moment Sonos speakers, nadat ik af ben gestapt van een 5.1 opstelling. Ik heb 2x een Play1 in de vensterbank voor het luisteren naar muziek en een Arc + sub voor de TV. Ik vind het geluid van de play1 niet heel goed en denk erover om alle Sonos spullen te verkopen. Een Stage is dan natuurlijk een optie, maar wat zou in de plaats kunnen komen voor de 2 Play1’s? Een A9, Beosound 2, of een Level of Balance. Of moet ik gewoon mijn oude Century weer ophangen een een Core aanschaffen? 😄Wat denk jij?

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  2 роки тому +2

      Dank je Rob!
      Een Beosound A9 en Balance zullen beide véél krachtiger en ronder in geluid zijn dan play1's. Dat is echt een mega wereld van verschil. Een Level is ook heel leuk, maar wel een stapje lager, nogsteeds meet dan play1's maar toch. Ik zou aanraden om een B&O dealer bij je in de buurt op te zoeken en gewoon te vragen of je je een beetje mag oriënteren door ze in de winkel te gebruiken. Dat is heel normaal in B&O winkels namelijk. Persoonlijk heeft de A9 mijn voorkeur ook voor de looks, maar er zijn niet echt slechte keuzes hier :D

      @@Mikipedia very well noted.. let us not mislead fellow music lovers by promoting products that don't sound good. that's all I'm saying. I know you have B&O interests at heart but being honest really goes a long way without sugar coating anything..

      @@Beoliving What?! The Level sounds amazing, it's very close to a BS2 and that's why it's surprising, at half the price nearly. I love B&O but in the end I am just a customer with a YT channel. If something is shit, I say it. I find the insinuation of dishonesty somewhat offensive. If you don't like it that's totally fine, you're the first one out of many hundreds to say to me they didn't like the sound. Have you actually heard it in person?!
