We needed a giant chandelier for Triad Stage's production of "39 Steps", so we made one. I have a bit more information over at my blog: www.props.eric-hart.com/how-to...
This was, simply, amazing!! I'm a bit envious of your creative ability to think this up and see the vision through to completion! :D I didn't see any electrical wiring during the process, so I'm guessing that the bulbs were just for show?
Awesome idea and design. May I ask what the material you glued around the rings is called? I'm trying to fine something like it to maybe buy but I can't for the life of me figure out how to search for it. Thanks!
Are you talking about the glue holding the wood to the welded frame, or the glue holding the decorative metal banding to the wood? The glue holding the wood to the frame is Liquid Nails, and I used Weldwood Contact Cement to hold the decorative metal to the wood.
Yeah, it was just some thin stamped tin that came in a roll. It was with the floral ribbon at Hobby Lobby, so I think it's just something decorative that people use when they're making flower arrangements.
A friend is buying a third floor ballroom untouched for about 100 years. She hopes to restore it. The ceilings are 17 feet high. What are the dimensions of your work here? And source of the beads, please? Thank you. Your set designers are lucky to have your talent.
So I found the beads, they are on Amazon one roll is 99 feet and costs 22.80 dollars. Hope this helps (Edit: I have now realized that this comment was made a while ago😢)
Awesome job with the chandelier! You've got mad skills! I've looked everywhere, but cannot find the candelabras that you attached to the chandelier. Where did you get them from.
I am absolutely obsessed with this video. Is there anyway I can see the full video? I am currently working on a chandelier in my head. I get an instant headache trying to put it on paper. My project is due in April😩😩😩😩 pls help. 😊
+Lq Scents There's not really a "full video". I only filmed certain parts, which is what ended up in this video. Each of the individual clips are a bit longer, but only because I edited out the repetitive bits, or the parts where I dropped the camera.
I've built loads of Chandeliers from kits made in Pakistan, i'd like to make some from scratch but cant find anywhere in the UK sells the crystals at a good price :(
Didn't expect to turn out to be this good! Keep it up, literally, haha!
Wow amazing!Looks like the one from Phantom Of The Opera
That’s because the style for both is Empire style. You can tell because it has a tapered top section with a basket underneath
@@wyster14I think this is for a phantom stage play
Awesome!!! You are soooo talented! I loved the design and the size. Just the type I was looking for.
This is stunning!! Great work, plus the accompanying music was perfect!

Hey Eric, amazing chandelier! May I ask where you got the string of beads?
I got them from Save-on-crafts.com. You can buy them in 30-foot rolls and cut them down to the length you need.

The decorative metal was what I was looking for not so much the glue. So is that all it is called decorative metal? Thanks again.

So the lighting is what makes it appears like glass?
Yes. The plastic crystals have a bit of an iridescent coating on them which help them catch and reflect the light.
What is that strip used at 01.13 called?
It's a strip of metal ribbon found in the floral section of a craft store.
what is the chandelier for?
Hello dear...are you a designer too...how can we reach you ?...
I wonder if there's a practical use for a chandelier this big.
