I nearly cried at the end of the program. He is such an amazing figure skater, like an artist on the ice. He is such good at that, he can make people cry just with a music at backround and himself. He has the soul. He is an art skater.

This was a joke!! The judges were so ignorant!!Johnny won this by a landslide. His heart is real that’s why he is still around!! Love u Johnny u are the best! There will never be another one like you. Adam Rippon was a rip off of you!!
I never really thought about Adam and Johnny having similar personalities, other than them both being extremely effeminate (not a slam, it's just who they are). Johnny is all about expressing himself visually while Adam is more of a verbal type person. As far as winning...I love Johnny's skating but he seemed to be skating a lot slower than usual, focusing on the jumps rather than his usually breathtaking choreography. If I were judging, knowing how he normally skates, I would reward him for the clean, impressive technique here but he just didn't have near the choreography he usually does...that's disappointing, artistically speaking, and so I'd probably dock him a few points on the component scores/artistic mark because that really did take away from the enjoyment of the program for me.
In my opinion, that's the focus on the jumps. It takes away from the artistry of the sport, something Johnny excels at. I really wish the focus was back on the artistry rather than the jumps.

However, I got the impression here that Johnny and his coach decided to take 2008 to focus almost solely on the jumps since other guys were developing and competing their quads and he needed to catch up. So this to me felt like a "test skate" to isolate jumping as much as possible, then they would be able to see how his technical merit fared on its own. Everyone there knew he had the artistry down!

Ended up with the exact same total score as Lysacek, however Weir placed second in the Free so was awarded the silver.

No real program or choreography here besides a decent last 1 minute in the program.
