- Matt Mattoon and Logan Tyler give you their thoughts on the electric bike from KTM. This was their first time riding an electric bike and both found it to be a fun play bike to have in the paddock, but can it be the only bike in your paddock?

Sweet bike this is the future.
We agree, it is not a replacement for your gas power dirt bike, but it is a fun play bike if you have the money for it. Don't expect long trail rides with it though
@@DirtBikeTest i will hit some triple's on that and do some nick nack paddy wack tricks in the air 😁😆😁
Looking forward to seeing how these bikes come along. Thanks for posting 💪😃👍
I don’t get why it doesn’t come with rear brakes by the peg! Don’t make sense to me I know you can add one but for the price it should be factory!
You can get a rear brake for it. This system more like our mountain bikes
KTM still not offering a rear foot brake option
big big mistake!!
they need to offer it so those of us that have muscle memory/auto pilot dont fly over the handle bars or break an ankle
There is a kit available for sale. Contact @dirtfirstracing on Instagram!
is it like a 250? power wise?
yes , low power yes but it stop at 50mph
Somewhere around a 150 with a very linear pull from the bottom till the 50 mph cap would be a good way to describe it. You can "lug" this much more than a 150 though due to it's torquey bottom and trials tire.
Is there a road legal of that?
surron x
Did you charge it with a generator while you were out or did you have to go back home and charge?
Also, I think for e-bikes they should add a fake clutch lever that attenuates the power. The ergonomics of a clutch release to get over things is better that throttle twisting. Basically the fake lever could reduce the power of the throttle by 100%, then control the release as you let it out.
We had to charge it back at the garage at home. KTM strongly recommends against charging with a generator due to varying frequency. Something we hope they can work on moving forward.
Some bikes like electric motion just have actual clutches on the electric motor, which seems like an even better solution than a fake lever. But maybe the fake levers will exist and surpass them someday.
No need for the clutch.
This is the first of many E-motos to come. Kawasaki has recently introduced a gas/electric hybrid streetbike.
5k USD would be a more fair price.
Entry level bike? Its 12 grand!
This is something we'll touch on our weekly Tech Talk Taco Tuesday podcast tonight at 7 pm pst.
Kid riding .. yes it is too small for adults
