Working with video studio is frustrating. Everything I want to do ends in giving up. The Software seems to be out of the 1980s.
Why did it take until 2018 to add this feature?

There is no the split screen template Icon and 3D text Icon in my videostudio pro 2022? How do I do?
It is complicated, somehow I always lose the third photo, instead appears some transitions which has nothing to do with this template, I desist

I've tried this and unless you've already cut and rendered pieces from a longer video track, I can't get it to work correctly. VERY Frustrating!!
Yes, for example I do the multi trim tool but it won't drag in so I have to generate a new video file and use all of the right settings, and I presume each time I do this I'll lose some image quality.

Seems easy, but when I try to split in 2 it F's up, a horrible transition appears which I DID NOT ASK FOR, and if I delete it the splitting option disappears... why??? I try to Split and delete other templates "splits" so I can have my own -modified- and nope... videos overlay and can't see anything.
This program is far from user friendly and I usually take a few minutes to get something and understand it, no matter what.

Hi ! I had the same unwanted transition problem for almost a year.... Ater watching this video I realized it says "Holding"Ctrl" button while you release mouse button". (not very obvious or user friendly... how should we guess this ???) but... It SEEMS TO WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I have experienced that also.
It's not the fault of the software.
Really.
It takes a little practice and learning.
Especially when you remove the placeholders.
Keep playing and practicing you will get it learn by your mistakes and don't repeat them.
!It does not work like video! VERY Frustrating!!

Hello Corel! I bought the newest version of VideoStudio, the Ultimate 2018. It seems that there are some bugs in the Split Screen Creator. If I draw four lines, I see only the numbers 3 and 4 on the screen. 1 and 2 desappears. When I select the squares 2, 3 and 4 bellow the screen, nothing happens.

Downloaded the trial version but so far it only stays open for a few minutes before crashing....
Hello, sorry to hear this. The trial is not full featured and may be conflicting with an existing codec on your system, although uncommon. Please try uninstalling and re-installing the trial.
Corel VideoStudio have done this but the problem persists. If the trial doesn't work it doesn't really inspire you to buy the full version - quite a few reviews online suggest this is a common issue... Disappointing as I love the UX
I have been using Corel Video Studio for home use alongside my business editor Vegas Pro. This year I am dropping Vegas Pro in favour of Video Studio. I had a few hiccups but checked I removed all old video editors and free programs. I strongly suggest you ask Corel customer Support to herlp.They can log intro your computer (with your permission) and access the Registry and edit files there.NOT recommened to do it yourself unless you are highly experienced in that area. I am but preferred Corel staff to fix .It was fast professional and no problems of innappropriate access. I am now using Video Studio 2018 Ultimate for my business.
This software is not very friendly user and I have yet to watch a video tutorial and go into the software and actually get it to work according to the video. There is no real customer support, so if you have an issue, yes you can call and talk to someone but that someone knows zero about the software and can only set up an email ticket for you and then no one gets back to you via email. Yes there is a support forum but that is so convoluted with the multiple products you can hardly find the right place to be using the search box. All in all , just a joke!Specifically, with the split screen, you are inserting photos or videos in the designated areas and if you don't proxy the videos after they are inserted on the timeline your preview rendering is in choppy,slow motion, and if you make any changes, for example, inserting text, or changing anything on the timeline then you have to proxy all of your videos again even though you have gone into the preferences and set up proxy before hand.The interface layout is just a lot of wasted space with controls all over the place and tabs where tabs are not needed.I could go on and on but I really don't think it will make a difference...….
I agree, and the documentation sucks and there aren't many users posting how-to videos on UA-cam.
There are tons of people posting how-to videos for Adobe Premier Elements or PowerDirector 16.

Another useless adver.... tutorial from Corel. I upgraded to Ultimate specifically to create split screen effects. Apparently you can't just pop a screen split anywhere into the video, or create a template that does it. I have a three second video I want to pop into a longer video at a certain time, & there is absolutely no way to do it in Corel. Using this Split Screen function doesn't work at all; the program tells me the clip is too short. I can't move the split where I need it. I can't create a custom template longer than ten seconds or begin playback anywhere except the beginning of the video. This program is a colossal waste of money.
