Interesting, though the terminology used where LPTB/TfL taking over a previous BR line as "Opened" is a bit misleading. You stated that TfL took over the Trams, for example but you describe the transfer of the Liverpool Street line to Shenfield from Greater Anglia to MTL operating as TfL Rail as "opening". Odd.
You NEED to do an updated version in a few months with TFL Rail turning purple and becoming Crossrail/the Elizabeth Line. It would have a rather nice symmetry to it, considering how the video begins with a new purple line under central London that goes east-west to Paddington. But either way, this is an absolute masterpiece!!! Geoff will have no trouble admitting it puts his version to shame.
@@transportationuk7656 The real question is when the three sections will join up. - When the new section opens, it will initially only be Paddington to Abbey Wood - you'll have to change trains at Paddington to go to Heathrow or Reading, or at Liverpool Street to go to Shenfield.

It's nice to know about all the other stuff but really that "tube" map is completely out of control now.
I've seen similar vids showing the expansion of subways in Chinese cities, usually from their beginnings in the 1990s or 2000s. Very impressive indeed - until you notice that almost 8 minutes of _this_ video's jaw-dropping growth happened during the reign of Queen Victoria!! No Tunnel Boring Machines, only shovels. Just WOW.

Great stuff. A few quibbles... Sometimes it's hard to spot a section or station opening (eg. at 14:58 or 43:02) because you don't include the information in the corner. Inverted commas aren't needed around the station names. And "served" is a better word than "serviced". bw
Awesome. What I'd like to add is distinction between building a new infrastructure vs taking over from railways. Also not everything is shown here. There were District line trains to Southend, and the Bakerloo tunnel was used by some trains of more distant destinations.
Great job!! The level of detail is just amazing.
Thanks :)

One of the coolest things I have ever seen. Phenomenal amount of work. BUT it started getting ridiculous towards the end, I mean at some point I was expecting it to extend all the way up to bloody Scotland! It's nice to know about all the other stuff but really that "tube" map is completely out of control now.
it's a shame that met line trains don't run as far as they used to. railways in disuse are building up in london
the overground is a gamechanger for the npcs of london
I've seen similar vids showing the expansion of subways in Chinese cities, usually from their beginnings in the 1990s or 2000s. Very impressive indeed - until you notice that almost 8 minutes of _this_ video's jaw-dropping growth happened during the reign of Queen Victoria!! No Tunnel Boring Machines, only shovels. Just WOW.
Can you make Shenzhen Metro?I love it!
The Best TfL Video I’ve ever seen so far, keep up the good work 👍
Such an amazing video! I would like it if you update the history after the Elizabeth Line opening between Reading and Abbey Wood [Includes Southall, Paddington, Hanwell, Ealing, Maidenhead, Slough, etc.] The level of detail is absolutely fantastic! Keep up the good work MetroCucumber!
Imagine a through, all stations service from Verney Junction to New Cross! That would drive you mad…
It’s called LONDON Underground, not England Underground. I don’t understand why TfL would want to waste money on extending the Metropolitan line out of London.
Outstanding video and incredibly informative. Well done 👏
An amazing and comprehensive piece of work.
It sucks that the Metropolitan Line doesn't have connections with the district line anymore :(
Sydney pls?
Wow! absolutely amazing!

London transport: We’re taking the W&C line.
NSE: April fools joke, right?
London transport: Nope.
Nah big up to you bro/sis. The effort, the detail, the time it probably took to make that is crazy. Had to watch the whole 47 minutes and 8 seconds 🙌💯
This is incredible. Thank you!
i wonder what the tube map would look like if stations never closed

Jakie wcześniej były błędy (przykładowe) ?
This is honestly very long
Hello can you please do future of London Underground
I think overground euston watford junction shoulf be closed and bakerloo should have an extension to euston and bakerloo would go watford junction and i think bakerloo shouldent just stop at euston it shall carry on by euston caledonian road upper holloway archway turnpike lane opening of a new stations around st anns road called west green seven sisters st james street wanstead and ilford and i think bakerloo shoufent go elephant and castle anymore a new line can take there place by naming it Oxring line baker street to bckenham junction and hyes bakerloo should go to ilford bc it would have a better connection with yhe gictoria line even though it doesent meet dlr and tram it meets elizabeth witch victoria line doesent but is usefull
I would prefer the picture did not move around so you can more easily absorb the changes.
So much detail! Well presented too.
How did you make this animation
Time flies by so fast, yet even the slowest thing in the world can speed time up
Great stuff. A few quibbles... Sometimes it's hard to spot a section or station opening (eg. at 14:58 or 43:02) because you don't include the information in the corner. Inverted commas aren't needed around the station names. And "served" is a better word than "serviced". bw
It's amazing that Japan has had subways since the Edo period.Japan's first subway opened a little over 60 years after Britain.
Not the most detail. I would have shown the trams before the TfL takeover and every individual stop.
Do helsinki metro next its my home metro system
Next will be SaintP tram system,
As a tube myself, I found this video fascinating
By the way please make a shortened video of this maybe 10 to 20 minutes anyways i love your vids keep it up!
Can someone tell me which software is used to generate these amazing route map animations??? My client has similar expectations !!
Adobe After Effects
Awesome. What I'd like to add is distinction between building a new infrastructure vs taking over from railways. Also not everything is shown here. There were District line trains to Southend, and the Bakerloo tunnel was used by some trains of more distant destinations.
