- Clonfert, Co. Galway, is the resting place of one of the most adventurous of Irish monks: St Brendan the Navigator. Stories of his seafaring inspired not only his contemporaries in Ireland, but later generations across medieval Europe too. Even in our time his story was a major influence on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.
Acknowledgments: We are grateful to Rev Olive Henderson for granting permission to film in Clonfert Cathedral.

Thank you for recounting the tale so well. I'm a member of St Brendan the Navigator parish on the coast of Maine, USA. Both my husband & son are sailors, so I'm quite fond of St Brendan.
Hello neighbor! My wife and I are also members of the parish.

Go forth, heal and convert; young monk. Before you get slayed with sword. Or get old and corrupted. Amen.

We are all on a Spiritual journey from the day we were born, what road we take is up to us, what signpost along the way we can follow, we are all given a free choice. The journey will have rough places and big hills to climb, but We need to look for the signpost, that leads us to PARADISE, THE KINGDOM OF OUR LORD AND CHRIST. Winifred Thompson . Northern Ireland.
May the Irish return to the holy Faith of Jesus Christ. May the bishops lead and the Faithful support them. Trying not to offend the world does not gain its respect or its conversion. From, Australia
