I like that even though it is clear throughout the movie that Emmet find's Elle to be cute and amusing, that this doesn't cause him to write her off or think less of her as a person. Instead of patronizing her, he respects her - while also finding her to be adorable.
Fae-Adventures Your right, he's one of the only people that doesn't write Elle off because she's girly and wears a lot of pink.
Isn't that an amazing feeling?! Having someone who will call you cute literally every half an hour, feed you food but still listen to your opinions intently, and hold looooong, intellectual arguments with you? 😍
@@aparna2701 that's what my husband do. He's sooo amazingly talented in politics and now he's a politics partner with one of the biggest politician in our country. In the other hand, I'm an advocate from a non-profit law firm and a lot of the time I against his point of view about policy. Yet, he always said that I'm cute and amusing when I argue with him😂😂
@@emilian7421 awww, beautiful distinction between profession and personal, I love it!
He also told her that Callahan likes ‘opinionated people.’
Emmet is so cute when Elle said "happy people just don't shoot their husbands." He looks so amused.
agree
I think he's facinated by her way of deducing the point.....too cute
His smile is so cute
He knows Elle is on to something and she's brilliant which only interested him further
He is always amused by Elle, I’m sure every time she talks he is always thinking he how adorable she is.
I mean she's right. They just don't.
@@stevekaczynski3793 they should excrise instead
Doll face Exact! I think simply, when people are truly, deeply happy and honest with themselves, they don't give time, to hurt another human being, simple as that :)
and in any case why should she kill her husband? They knew she was rich on her own through her fitness empire, she could easily get a good lawyer and a divorce is hardly enough to damage her reputation. I mean the evidence about her being covered with the blood is circumstantial at best
😂
@@agenttheater5 Brooke was covered in his blood because she was holding his dead body in shock and grief, like any loving wife would do to a Husband she found suddenly dead of a gunshot wound.
The way she adds 'They just don't' on the end makes me laugh
omg right!!? :D
Even though they technically don't have a ton of screentime together (in this movie OR the sequel, really), I still find something incredibly sweet and romantic about Emmet and Elle's relationship. ♥
The musical that you can find full on UA-cam has a lot more scenes with them toghter and i love it for that.
Ive always loved their relationship and Luke Wilson seems so sensitive and kind in his role of Emmett. Never judging her or making her feel less than
@@morganirvine2327 Yes, but at the same time it changes Elle and Emmett's relationship a bit. In the musical, Emmett judges and lightly mocks her like everyone else. I love the musical but wish it had not been changed
Everybody glosses over the fact that the wife had her own fortune.
She really didn't have any motive to shoot her husband.
Callahan also had a point: the 34 year age gap. The jurors will automatically assume she didn’t really love him and since the prosecution was saying she had an affair with the pool boy they were possibly establishing her motive was to kill her husband to avoid him finding out and divorcing her.
And then they wrote off Chutney just because she had a trust fund
Chutney really didn't have a motive to kill her father though. It was an accident.@@morbidsearch
@willchurch8376
Because it was an accident, however she was also afraid of jail, and what else could be better than framing the one person you hate which would be your mother in law who's the same age as you?
Yeah, none of that is going to occur to the police. She has no motive to kill her father, ergo, she isn't likely the killer.@@jugemujugemugokonosurikire4735
I just took up exercise and I'm feeling very Ellen Wood-like. Now I'm sure I'm never gonna shoot my husband.
I still be a little fearful of being your husband.
😂😂😂
Reading this comment after 9 years when big fat bums are in fashion right now
@@jimmylives yeah, true
wait till he chews and pops gum leading you to send 2 warning shots into his head and perform in lingerie for a musical number about shooting your husband
I never realized it before, but Elle is kind of a cinnamon roll
Aww! Totally ✨
Is it a coincidence that I just ate a cinnamon roll today and didn't like it?😂 Yeah, but since it was so sweet she definitely is a cinnamon roll.
And not a snickerdoodle?
She's definitely a cinnamon roll.
I really can't think of anyone more suited to play Elle than Reese. She really brought life to the role.
Reese Witherspoon is a great Actress and can convincingly play both Sweet Protagonists (Elle Woods) and Nasty Villains(Tracy Flick). You're a good Actor or Actress when you can convincingly play both Sweet Protagonists and Nasty Villains. 😀
reese is a classly lady
Is it just me or does Vivian smile and look kind of impressed when elle is talking about how Brooke helped her loose weight??
It’s not just you, I thought so too
I would too if you tell me about someone able to help me loose three pounds in one class
It was more of a smirk
No it was a rolling her eyes smirk like “why does this idiot think she has what it takes to be a lawyer”
@@leerogish7223 Yep, definitely a mocking smirk. But if my eyes do not deceive me, it looks like Vivian is smirking at first, and in the very last couple second(s)it looks like a genuine smile like,"Wait. That's actually impressive." 🤔
Every time Emmet walks in I think Callahan is gonna say "You've probably seen him around campus doing bullshit " I don't know why, but I imagine it with, that serious face, every time!!! XD
I love how happy Elle looks when Emmet walks in, because she already knows him.
yes, her eyes light up when a real man, not a frat manboy walks into the room, emmet is that man, not waner
because Emmett was always sweet and kind to her. I also think Elle likes Emmett at the moment, but she doesn't know it yet
Well it's true. Like a good shower, exercise makes everything seem better. Not to mention, she could've gotten a divorce easily if she'd wanted one
A divorce would hurt her financially. The prosecutor seemed to be painting the picture she was seeing the pool boy and killed her husband to avoid him divorcing her and losing money.
@@leerogish7223 during the murder trial, might not have done so un a divorce case. Might not have had the same lawyer anyhow.
So we ever find out why the pool boy lied about the affair? Did he do it as a publicity stunt, did the prosecutor make him lie or did the first wife pay him to do so? Remember she was the one who mentioned the pool boy in the first place
@@agenttheater5 I take it you didn’t watch the movie. During a break he comments on Elle’s shoes and she suspects he is gay and on cross examination he is tricked into admitting he has a boyfriend.
@@agenttheater5 I imagine chutney bribed him.
@@leerogish7223 I know that. I know what tipped Elle off was when he cut in front of her in the line for the drinking fountain, she tapped her foot at him and he turned around and said "Don't stomp your little last season Prada shoes at me honey" and she said "They're not last season" before gasping, that when she asked Warner what kinds of shoes she was wearing Warner said "Uh....black ones" and that Brooke later said "You know he did leave a Cher cd in the pool house once".
What I don't know is why he lied under oath and told the prosecutor and the defence he was having an affair with Brooke in the first place.
Soooo true happy people don't shoot nobody
Happy people just don‘t shoot their husbands
Lol my tummy hurts from laughting
I love her innocence.
This is basically my response whenever someone asks "why do you exercise?"
its makes you happy
😂😂😂😂😂🫵🏽🙄👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
well she has a valid reason why they dont.
Exactly, if she is happy with you. Most importantly, as a husband you must always keep your wife happy and vice versa.
I like your wording ! KEEP happy, and not MAKE happy. I like that !!! I'll take this in my pocket.
Elle is my fave. I love her she's hilarious!
Emmet is so god damn handsome:-) and his smile is so gorgeous
yes
Elle’s comment is so adorable. And I suppose she is right.
That made me laugh and love Elle even more, her facial expressions and delivery are everything
Thank you for posting this. I was applying for an IT position for some fitness club and I needed 1 more reason for the benefits of exercising. I was waaaaaaayyy too broad with my other 4 that I just didn't want to feel like I'm repeating myself.
LOVE HER she is right happy people don't shoot there husbands
Lol she’s definitely true at the end, I’ve yet to hear about a happy person killing their partner 😂😂
Very true. If you're happy and you know it clap your hands.
If your happy and you know it you just don't shoot your husband.
I just had a ap test and this scene helped me answer a question thanks Elle woods
they just don’t.
I love how Emmett looks at her. So sweet
someone please find me a guy like him. :"(
I bet he's also thinking, "She's cute... and probably has a point."
@@antithoughtpolice7497 Some of the other Lawyers' heads simultaneously go up and look at Elle SERIOUSLY when Elle says,"I just don't think Brooke could have done this." Like they are thinking,"Wait. Is Elle right? Could we be defending an INNOCENT Client?" 🤔
@@pinkprincess7120 You gotta be Elle to do that
@@riverjordan2725 Oh my gosh!
She makes a good point.
Elle is an 'out of the box' thinker
yah why would happy people shoot someone right? hahahaha excellent point
She is so right... they don't.
exersice release endorphins and happy people just dont shoot their husbands.I have to say legally blonde was one of my favorite movies when I was kid.The blonde marlin monroe look like a Barbie Doll,I love playing with Barbie Dolls, house, and I also had a babie doll with a stroller. Memories.
10 years later this is in my recommended
I don't have a husband to shoot in the first place and you are not my husband. Nobody who is the RIGHT MIND will insult or make the person whom we love as a target.
Emmet's behavior is typical Angel male. I like him also.
When i first saw Emmet and Elle(Reese Witherspoon)i knew it's gonna be something between them, and if you saw Legally Blonde2 ,it's the proof that i was right with this thought.
this is honestly my motivation to exercise
Moi Moi's Delilah raves on since i got here 17.02 about his Law degree, offensives etc. Cant wait to hear it all
She said it like it was a matter of fact.
i find victor garber is the type of man who needs a very young woman in his life
Why did Brook need an alibi if she was already at the house standing over her husband's body?
Toni Brightman she could proved that she wasn't there because she was somewhere else
But she *was* there and everyone knows that she was there. She admitted she was there.
They needed a proper timing to give reasonable doubt that maybe she stumbled upon her husbands body when he was already dead, since the gun is missing and no fingerprints can pin a suspect, she's being tried on the testimony of a pool boy and the stepdaughter that hates her guts and his her same age, so there's still a change to plead maybe she was framed or just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time@@tbrghtmn
I'm like 2 years late lmao.
But when Brook found the body, her husband had been dead for 30 minutes.
They needed Brook's alibi to prove that she wasn't home at the time of death (aka 30 minutes before the daughter and the pool boy saw her), and thus making it impossible for the opposition to say that Brook killed her husband.
@@Nightlady0228 A Critic pointed out that Brooke shouldn't have been the sole suspect. Enrique and Chutney should have also been suspects since they also admitted to being on the property when Hayworth Windham died. Good point. 🤔
1:20 *swoon*
Yaas Luke Wilson is so handsome
I do, mostly myself to stop the pain.
Short clip of this movie is not enough where is the full movie...
Luke Wilson is just so handsome. 😍
I love♡ Emmett:)
They made the movie into a musical on broadway a long time ago
I agree, happy people dont shoot their husbands.
this should turn into a show! similar to ny med to nylaw the series!
Cut off best part: Emmett’s response
Our government is apparently not happy with us, as we all need to get a shot.
LMAO! 🤣 It seems so long ago that Covid was a huge deal and now it's being treated as normal as the Flu or the common cold. 🤣
@@riverjordan2725 Maybe for you but many Chinese are still troubled by the controlling effects today. Unvaccinated are not allowed to leave the USA, so they can also not to enter the USA and the costs are for sure not gone; those can be paid back later by the youngsters. Very funny, you have a weird sense of humour.
@@tamarahagenbeek Hmm. I was talking about the United States, I was insensitive to not think about the other Countries. I didn't know other Countries were still completely serious about Covid because in The United States, Covid is being treated like The Flu or a Common Cold.
@@riverjordan2725 If that would be true I would be able to visit my brother in Detroit (Michigan), the United States, while being Dutch and unvaccinated.
@@tamarahagenbeek I was talking about only in The United States. For example, in The United States, we no longer have to Social Distance or wear masks. Lockdowns and Shutdowns are over and curfews are over too and we can go to crowded events again. In The United States, we're basically living like it's 2019 again. The United States has it REALLY good, but other Countries might still be living like it's early 2020. 🤔
How is standing over his body grounds to prove her guilt?
I guess anyone found at the scene of the crime is considered a suspect.
@@chelseabaker1994 And Churney and Enrique were supposed to have found her at the crime scene (when Enrique only discovered the body, and Chutney killed her father by accident).
@@cleverhardy5230 yeah but that doesn't prove guilt. They said they saw her covered in his blood, her standing over him with his blood on him sounds circumstantial at best, nothing to prove that her story that she saw him, felt his heart and screamed was false.
Happy people don't spend years using friends and family to test , emotional blackmail, project their trauma and insecurities on to other people
is Warner also Alaric in the vampire diaries?
Bonita Tribe yess
Nathalia Nicole, thanks! I never made that connection before, but I just started to re-watch vampire diaries and just thought of it.
Bonita Tribe IKR! He seems to never get old
Exactly! But on the other hand that means he'll be acting for a long time. Good for him.
I quit tvd after the whole originals plotline
jajaaaaaaaaa sooooo good
I have to agree with Elle.
BY WHOM ?
Well shes not wrong...
She was totally right. Exercise does make you happy and why would happy people shoot others ?😂
Their wife neither.
Relevant character evidence?? Maybe admissible in a criminal defendant's case to prove that she acted in conformity with said character. Sorry, studying for bar exam and trying to relate lessons to things that have been ingrained in my memory. lol.
i didnt get any of this what did she say?????
Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, happy people just don't shoot their husbands. They just don't.
thank you xxxx
You're welcome :) x
why does it sound like she's saying exorcist
Wait while I liked Elle she’s wrong. Anyone can snap and shoot their spouse! And some people aren’t what or who they seem. However she was innocent but anything’s possible
I also found Elle's reasoning to be overly optimistic and innocent (Endorphins make you happy so you wouldn't shoot anyone seems kind of childlike) Maybe Elle would have sounded better if she said something like,"All Delta Nu Sorority Sisters take psych evaluations and Brooke passed hers with flying colors."
Yes, Oscar Pistorious exercised a lot 😬
They probably could have used this as a defense.
No, no she's got a point.
this made me laugh.. lol
happy people just dont shoot there husbands, they just dont. rotflmho. i'm not saying it's not true, but still.
Professor callahan is so very sexy as victor garber is
It’s not great logic about exercise makes you happy - happy people don’t shoot their husbands. What about Oscar Pistorious?
They can of they’re a psycho. :P
Of course they don't
@advocaatlaura
Did you want to kill him bef - wait, I don't wanna know.
Ok this is why zuc has no case threats coercion harassment

hahahahahahahaha
Meet our brand new client, Brooke
You can laugh, but she's made tons
Off her DVDs and book
"Whip Your Way to Tighter Buns"
Happily married, so she swears
To her sixty-year-old stud
Til stepdaughter came downstairs
And found Brooke all covered in his blood
If Brooke took a plea
I'd have her out in 3 to 4
But she claims she did not kill him
Did she? Let's watch some more
My geometry teacher showed the class this when we were learning about logic
@2ne1blackjack27 lol
Tell that to football star and athlete OJ Simpson lolol
But, OJ Simpson didn't SHOOT anyone. He stabbed and strangled I believe.
I don't think so. LOL I guess skinny people in their twenties get endorphines. All I seem to get is muscle aches the next morning after excercise. So I might as well make a game out of it and have fun doing the physical activity cuz plain jumping jacks and stuff is boring and I get no charge out of it. I'd rather chase and play.
And that's BULL. Drunks work out too. A guy loved doing reps on weights just to get plenty of muscle to beat me when he drank.
6 years ago but, not in this case, wood is a fitness trainer, she probably loves her job
Happy people don't use air control, roleplayer and live fake lives and takes shortcuts, test etc MOFO out everyone
