EEEPPP, OUR 2023 PATIO MAKEOVER! We are so in love with this new space! It feels so clean and completely refreshed! I still cant believe how the new tables and accents changed the entire look of our patio furniture and I cant wait to hear all your thoughts down below! 💕 If you followed the saga, this video was the biggest labor of love and truly tested my patience (and my wallet because I had to buy a new computer) but in the end it was SO worth it! I hope you enjoy, thank you so much for watching! ily all so so so much!!!
Katie and Brian the patio make over is stunning!! You guys did a great job!! I am sure your landlord is also please with how well you guys take care of this house. I know you said you might only be there a year or two more. You have add a lot of value to this house. Love all the live plants too! Katie at Lowe’s or Home Depot with have a gauge that will tell you when your plants need water. That way you don’t over water them. You just stick it in each pot or close to each plant and it will tell you if the plant is wet or dry. I have found it very helpful so I don’t overwater!! Love all your pretty green accents also!! Again great job guys. ❤
thank you so much Carla! I absolutely need this gauge and I’m going to go get one ASAP!!! Thank you so much for your kind words and thank you for watching ❤️❤️❤️
I love how it turned out Katie! For the monstera, and other plants that have roots that took shape of their previous pot, you should loosen their roots (you can just do this with your hand!) before repotting so they can grow into their new, bigger pot! This is completely normal, and is a sign that they are ready to grow in a bigger pot! Thank you for always making such great content! I love your videos ❤️
Oh, Katie, what a super job, for you and Bryan. Beautiful team work, and great decor. Excellent, and comfortable space. Thanks for sharing. 🙏😘👍❤️🌟🌷👏☘️🌺✝️
I love that you are trying out live plants. I myself am a plant enthusiast and love having green in my space. You have some really great beginners plants. Best advice I can provide is using your finger to measure the moisture in the plants soil. When your plants are starting to become dry, you will want to water them. Once a month I like to add a bit of liquid fertilizer to keep them happy and blooming! The roots on your monstera deliciosa are called aerial roots. Those are perfectly fine and allow the plant to breathe. Remember to allow yourself grace when learning to care for your new plant friends. I know I’ve killed a few in learning to keep mine alive! So excited for you! Also the patio looks amazing!!! You’ve inspired me to keep working at ours. ❤
I use Osmacote in my plants it’s a slow release fertilizer. It works well. Also in realt big pots I cut up pool noodles and put them in the bottom of the pots. They take up space so you don’t need as much soil and are good for drainage.
I use Oscomote too--super easy. Works great. I dont have time to be measuring liquids for fertilizing every big and small plant in my garden. Oscomote is way easier for fertilization. Thanks for the tip on using pool noodles to fill bottom of large planters. I'm going to try it for sure!
I absolutely love your decorating , especially Brynn s room!!! So beautiful ,all of your decorations go so well together. Again Katie, love your style . Looks eastery ( if thats a word) without over doing it!! Thanks for showing us. BEAUTIFUL 😊🐰🐣⚘️🪻
Soooo nice! Great space for your family and guests. Such a rewarding project and video. I loved the beginning of the video, where Brian was hogging the power washer! LOL!!!
Looks great Katie!! My tips on herbs is they are pretty much like weeds….. they are pretty easy to grow!! They don’t need a lot of water, but they do like sun. The mint will take over everything especially if you plant it in the ground. It is impossible to get rid of, comes up all into your grass. So a separate pot is a good idea. You, Brian and your precious baby and pups will enjoy your porch this summer!! ☀️☀️☀️
Both of you did a great job on refreshing and cleaning your patio. It is so relaxing to run the pressure washer and I can be the one who runs with it and does not give a turn to my husband. So glad you could keep the couch and chairs. I think they are beautiful and hopefully last a very long time. The new tables and television are a great addition! I am a gardener and have been ever since I can remember. I enjoy the plants you have on your patio to enjoy. The one thing I would like for you to consider is to add a drainage hole to each container. I noticed that some pots did not have one. If the water does not drain, you will rot the root and your lovely plant will die. You have fantastic lighting for each one of them. So happy you shared your video with us. *Debbie*
It all looks great! I happen to think the faux wall hanging plants really sets it up. I love the fan and the tables. They look like well, they were meant to be together. You two rocked it 👍♥️
Hi guys! I love the pops of green, such a great color. The TV is nice & the plant stand is lovely. I'm not gonna lie...the faux hanging plants look great! Awesome job you two! I ♡ Brynn's sweet plant with delicate pink flowers, so precious 💕🪴 Oh! I forgot to add the fan! Love the look & idea. Especially in Florida on those hot days 🌞
Katie you and Brian did an awesome job on the patio refresh- love it! Your pups looked like they were overseeing everything you did- so cute! TYFS and have a great day!
The stems on your monstera are called aerial roots - they help the plant gather more nutrients and moisture as well as anchoring the plant- you can cut them or leave them be. It's perfectly normal you have a very happy and healthy plant.
They say if you take those aerial roots and pull one out and put a tiny little shot glass or so with water in it in the soil and put that root in the water it will TAKE OFF
Hi Katie great makeover! All the plants are a wonderful addition to your outdoor space. The only advise I can add is plants need good drainage. Pots should have a hole in the bottom for water to drain out. You run the risk of a plant drowning if the water can not drain out. Only use pots without holes as decorative plant holders. Enjoy your patio.
Everything looks amazing!! Pressure washing is a must down here at least once a year the mold and dirt from the humidity creates the perfect environment for that!! Looks so good after the cleaning!! All the new pillows and tables are so nice!! I like the faux hanging plants! The ceiling fan also a huge win!! Hope all of your plants do well especially the sweet pink one! I love plants too…try to get the planters with the drain holes and if not use rocks at the bottom so it creates a drainage when watering so you don’t get root rot. I don’t have a perfect green thumb but there are a lot of YT creators who are and I like watching the actual visual of how to take care of the plants by people who do it for a living 😊I also use miracle grow liquid to feed the plants every other month! Your plants will be so beautiful the ones have had look great!! The herb garden and markers are so pretty! Rosemary chicken Basil on anything Italian my favorite is tomato mozzarella and basil with balsamic vinaigrette yummy! So happy for this video I know you worked so hard and it’s amazing!! Hope you can now enjoy a great movie night out on the patio!!
I LOVE POWER WASHING TOO! Hi Katie, Brian and Brynn! GREAT video and TFS xoxo. In Florida, as you know, most people have tvs outside!! I love your dogs. I hate the concrete in these houses lol. I won't tell you about the curtain rod I yanked out of the wall, along with alllllll of the metal stuff above the window. OOOOPS! Ok, one more thing, ALL of my plants are fake lmao. Gardening is not my jam lmao. They look great though.
I got the yellow target mug with daisies all over it in celebration 🎊 and I’ll use it when watching future videos of yours and again I am super impressed by how great it looks!
Great patio transformation! It looks like a cozy place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather! I had an herb garden several years ago! I had so much extra, I froze it to enjoy later!
Glad you finally were able to get it posted with all the trouble you had with this video going up. I know you must be exhausted at this point working on it . Glad your new computer is working out for you. Can’t wait to watch it.
LOVE IT! ❤great job Katie .... and I think it was great incorporating the faux plants too, they look adorable in those hanging baskets .... enjoy your new space 😎🥰
Hi Katie, your patio looks great! Love the addition of the TV! You know, on that small bit of black cord still showing, you can easily paint it your wall color to camouflage it as well, and even paint the outlet box! I have your same couch and chairs and love it. On my deck, I place my area rug on a diagonal which gives a little flare to the look. You may like it too😉. I am loving all your different plants. We love to take thick, bone in pork chops, and brine them, using rosemary stems, soooo good and very easy. Just google Webber rosemary brined pork chops. This recipe is a keeper and it impresses your guests, too.😘. Love ya girl!
Love your patio transformation! So cozy and inviting!! Also enjoy watching you and Brian work together-you are such a lovely couple and sweet parents to that adorable little girl!! ❤
Katie, WOW! That room looks absolutely amazing! What a transformation! You two have done such a great job! It's so warm and inviting! I love all the plants! You didn't need new furniture! Just cleaning it made it look brand new! Everything looks perfect! It all looks so cohesive! 👍❤️🤗
Your patio turned out gorgeous!! For the herbs, if you have excess, chop them up and put about a Tablespoon of each into an ice cube tray, add enough water to cover, then freeze. Once frozen, pop them in a Ziploc bag and store in the freezer. That way you've got pre-measured "fresh" herbs to put in sauces, soups, etc. Or, you could hang them upside down to dry out then crush & put in jars. I'm excited to see how they do, it's so much fun growing & using your own stuff 😊😊
New viewer here. Love your video! I'm trying to get motivated for my patio makeover or revamp. Love the faux plants on the wall. They really look good. Plant advice is to make sure there is good drainage in pots and soil and not to over water. The space looks great! Girl, it is not lame to put outside. ❤ it.
I love this makeover ! I like how you show what you can do to refresh what you have already . Love the herb garden . I had one but like how you did yours better ! Also like the placement of furniture . It is a cozy conversation space now . Beautiful !
Totally worth the wait. What a cozy place to spend your nice Florida days and evenings together. I love the idea of the fan and tv. Everything looks so fresh and new! Enjoy!!
I knew that little container was going to hold remotes when you said the fan had a remote. Hahaha, love how it turned out guys!! That's a nice little space!
Katie, it looks great- really like the transformation! You are right about the mint, but the plant that you said had the veins are actually the roots. What you should of done to better the plants health is loosen up the roots so they don’t continue to rap around the pot. Good Luck!
I put mint in my flower bed 15 yrs ago not knowing how invasive it is. I still have to pull so much of it out every yr. Definitely in a pot. I use the mint I pull in a tomato and cucumber salad with some basil and mozzerella. Delicious!
Love it! Your cushions came out like new..the art of the power washer! The pops of black give it the Katie vibe! I wish I had a green thumb. The few flowers I tried out on our deck last year didn’t make it. I love an outdoor tv as well. The cord cover is way better than leaving it exposed. Good job
It turned out great! Love it! My patio furniture is on our large deck with a roof, and I discovered last year there we’re zippers on all the cushions, so I can take them off and put them in the washer!
Wow, wow, wow! Katie you guys did an Amazing job with the transformation! It is absolutely gorgeous! I love your green accents, the green pillow😍, pops of black, the hanging greenery on wall (I mix real and faux together and you can't tell!), the new tables, rug.....well everything! It turned out so warm and inviting! A perfect place to relax with family and friends! The fan will be so useful and how fun to have a TV! I hope you create many beautiful, fun and happy moments in your new patio!💖 I love how the power wash really makes everything sparkle! Sooo fun to watch! Have a great Sunday! You deserve some R & R☺️ love and hugs💜🪻
Omg I think this is the first time I’ve seen your doggie it looks like a PITBULL ♥️♥️♥️ if so they are the best breed ever ♥️♥️🥰🥰 show more of the doggies ♥️♥️
Hi Katie! The patio refresh turned out great! Love that you added in real plants and I think what you need is a small water feature as well. That would really make the space feel very zen. Especially when doing yoga. 😉
Love the new look Katie 👍. You & Brian did an excellent job and details. Love the TV out there along with plants & herbs. I’m sure you will enjoy spending relaxing time out their with your added bonuses. BTW love the faux hanging baskets with plants. I have one in my bathroom as well and think it looks awesome. Kudos to you both for execution👍. Very nicely done. PS love the satisfaction after power washing, it’s a game changer👏👏👏. Wishing you, Brian & Bryann many memories enjoying your improved bonus area.
Katie!!! This looks awesome!! I love all the plants out there!!! Even the faux plants on the wall! The fan is an awesome touch too!!! You guys will definitely enjoy that space so much!!! We are touching up our back porch right now with new pillows, a new rug, and potted plants as well! Love this time of year! Great video!! Thx for sharing!
Love this space Katie! The previous owner of our last house planted mint against the side of the house & we could NEVER get rid of it! I will only plant it in a pot. We live in Texas and have a regular TV on our back porch & it is not screened in. (It is covered) We bought a cover also for it & that works for us. Enjoy your new space!
Your patio looks good! Who cares what others think about you having a TV in your outdoor space. It's not my jam, but it's not my house either. If it works for you family, that's what matters. I like that you painted your cord hider to match your exterior wall color. Plants are easier than you'll think. My mom has a great green thumb and I learned a lot from her. Two general rule of thumb, terracotta or some other form of pottery pots are better for plants than plastic. Plastic pots can encourage root rot because it's not a breathable material. Secondly, if you're unsure when to water your plants, just finger check them once a week and if the soil feels dry, water that plant. I have a combination of indoor and outdoor, direct and indirect light plants on my porch and inside my house. I have a small herb garden on my porch, along with a potted lemon tree I started growing from seed 3 years ago, some scallions and mixed leaf lettuce, all of which are thriving. Some of my edible porch garden was started from seed, others were started from a small baby plant. Indoors I have a pothos vine, monstera, and a couple other tropical plants (in not far from you in Southeast Louisiana, and tropical plants love it down here as you know), and I also have some faux plants. I have a combination of real and faux because I have two cats, one of which likes to occasionally "taste test" new plants I bring home. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ so I have to keep him guessing. 😂 but also, some plants aren't let friendly, so the plants I like that are toxic to pets I purchase in faux form, except for my monstera such is a real plant. That one is mildly harmful, just causes a little stinging like eating supper sour lemons. The cats avoid that plant, so it's fine for me. No shame in combing real and faux plants, do your thing Katie!
I love it! I also love the conversation about learning to care for your plants!❤️ biggest tip is to make sure that you have drainage holes in everything you plant into. Your monstera is healthy, and the Ariel roots are part of a normal, healthy plant! You can chop them, or feed them into the soil. Monstera are beastly, tough plants! ❤️🪴
A Katie power washing video!! I love the rug cleaning and power washing videos too. So relaxing to watch. The space looks great. I could definitely see myself stretched out on the couch watching the tv. Hope you can get some rest today!
Beautiful video, my favorite part of the video is the herb garden 🌿 and all the live plants 🌵🍃☘️🍀🌱🌺 plus I was amazed at how great that power wash did such an amazing job. 👍 We will be purchasing one of those real soon, now that it's warming up in our area. 😊 Brian is a keeper for sure, what a great job he does on everything. I also really liked the ceiling fan too. You two work so well as a team together, GREAT JOB!!! ♥️♥️♥️
I just found your channel and love it. I love power washing as well and you’re right, it is very satisfying. Everything turned out nicely. Just a little tip about planting….when you plant in something that doesn’t have drainage holes (your herb garden). Line the bottom with rocks so that the water can drain away from the soil and the roots. Loved the completed porch.
Wow Katie! You guys did an amazing job! And I so agree with you about power washing.. its gross but SO SATISFYING 😂😂 your patio looks so cozy and beautiful for you and your adorable furbabies to enjoy! Thank you so much for sharing it with us, it was well worth the wait! And thank you for all your hard work and everything that you do! Your awesome! 🥰🥰
Katie, take it from me...the herb plants should be in large individual pots.....they will take off like a rocket....You'll see what happens in just a few short weeks. Very pretty and enjoy with friends.
Katie, you have a Celciest (sp) plant the red one. If it grows well, it will come back next year as hosta and my favorite hydrangeas. This was well worth the wait. Tell Brian I have 2 Parsons chairs smd a cabinet for him to put together for me - the King of putting things together. I love the patio and plants. I think hanging Spider plants would look great too. You are using the correct soil miracle grow and I only water my plants once a week. Good luck with your herbs. To save money on miracle grow, I use dollar tree pull noodles in the bottom of the pots. Love your videos, Donna xoxo
Great makeover and very welcoming! Love that you're adding live plants. I couldn't tell if your new pots had drainage holes in them. I usually drill hole in pots so that water can drain so I don't need to worry about the plants getting root rot. Just be careful not to overwater if there are not drainage holes in the pots. 🙂
EEEPPP, OUR 2023 PATIO MAKEOVER! We are so in love with this new space! It feels so clean and completely refreshed! I still cant believe how the new tables and accents changed the entire look of our patio furniture and I cant wait to hear all your thoughts down below! 💕

🤔💭 I'm so confused, so is this the backyard or side of the house 🏡
Hey Katie, it's true there are some plants that are intrusive and mint, is one of them! 🌿🌱🌿🌱🌿🌱🌻🙏🏻👍🏻💜🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🕊️🌻
The one thing I would add is a privacy screen, there are times I don't want people walking by looking at me!
It looks great! You've inspired me to get to work on my own patio!!
Looks good - Change sofa pillows needs a pop of color!!!
I'm with you on the power washing!! That's one chore I claim as mine....YES, super satisfying.
Thank you so much Regina!!
Lol Brian is cool, u 2 do a GREAT job together! GREAT JOB! Looks fabulous! Thank u for sharing! Great video! 😊❤️🎁💕⭐️

Have u ever used vermiculite when u were transplanting in2 larger pots? I used 2 do that all the time
@@MamaCarola1 I have not but I do like to use my own mix with perlite and orchid bark depending on the type of plant :)
You are a WEALTH of knowledge!!! Thank you so much for your comment!!

Oscomote is way easier for fertilization. Thanks for the tip on using pool noodles to fill bottom of large planters. I'm going to try it for sure!
Amazing! 👏
Thank you Morgan !!!
Looks fabulous Katie I to tend to overwater real plants so I am not ashamed to use faux plants outside😍😁
Hahahahaha I’m trying not too but it’s so easy!!
Oh my gosh, I love everything! The green accents are striking! I cannot keep plants alive, but I love all of my faux ones, lol!
Thank you so much!!! We’re doing our best to keep our new plant babies alive!!
So cute to see you and your husband working together ❤️ he is so funny 😁

This is my favorite patio refresh ever!!!
Thank you so much Mary!!

This is such an amazing tip thank you so much!!!!! 💚💚💚
Worth the wait. Love the patio, particularly the herb planter.
Thank you Karen 💚
Great job guys!! It turned out Beautifully!!!🥰
Thank you Ann!!!❤️❤️
New viewer here. Love your video! I'm trying to get motivated for my patio makeover or revamp. Love the faux plants on the wall. They really look good. Plant advice is to make sure there is good drainage in pots and soil and not to over water. The space looks great! Girl, it is not lame to put outside. ❤ it.
Thank you so much!!!!! ❤️ best of luck with your revamp!!!
So cute. Clean and comfy l. LOVE the TV and fan!!!!!! Nice!!!!
Thank you so much Ann!!!
I love this makeover ! I like how you show what you can do to refresh what you have already . Love the herb garden . I had one but like how you did yours better ! Also like the placement of furniture . It is a cozy conversation space now . Beautiful !
Thank you so much Andrea ❤️❤️
Totally worth the wait. What a cozy place to spend your nice Florida days and evenings together. I love the idea of the fan and tv. Everything looks so fresh and new! Enjoy!!
Thank you so much Amy ❤️
A power wash hog 😂. It’s sooo satisfying!!! Everything looks so pretty. I love the ceiling fan and pops of green. Your pups are adorable ❤
Thank you so much! ❤️
I love it!! It came out great. Our snow has finally all melted and I’m itching to get out my patio furniture.
Thank you so much Sarah!!! So exciting that spring is here!
Great video Katie! I agree about power washing- so satisfying! Your space is fantastic ❤️
Thank you Christine!!!
Aww Katie it is outside. You guys work very hard at what you do and everything looks fab!
Thank you!!!
It looks outstanding and so fresh! I love all the greenery!! 🌱🌿🍃
Thank you Ann!!!
I knew that little container was going to hold remotes when you said the fan had a remote. Hahaha, love how it turned out guys!! That's a nice little space!
Babahahaha oh Brittany you know all my tricks!!!🥹
Katie, it looks great- really like the transformation! You are right about the mint, but the plant that you said had the veins are actually the roots. What you should of done to better the plants health is loosen up the roots so they don’t continue to rap around the pot. Good Luck!
Thank you such I’m going to loosen them for sure!
I put mint in my flower bed 15 yrs ago not knowing how invasive it is. I still have to pull so much of it out every yr. Definitely in a pot. I use the mint I pull in a tomato and cucumber salad with some basil and mozzerella. Delicious!
Omg what a headache!!!
You and Brian did a great job on your patio.
Thank you so much Brenda ❤️
Yes mint spreads. Your patio looks beautiful. Great job 👍
Thanks so much! 😊
Love it! Your cushions came out like new..the art of the power washer! The pops of black give it the Katie vibe! I wish I had a green thumb. The few flowers I tried out on our deck last year didn’t make it. I love an outdoor tv as well. The cord cover is way better than leaving it exposed. Good job
Thank you so much Angelica!! ❤️
It turned out great! Love it! My patio furniture is on our large deck with a roof, and I discovered last year there we’re zippers on all the cushions, so I can take them off and put them in the washer!
That’s so amazing!!! That’s the only thing ours is missing!!!
Thank you so much Michelle!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg I think this is the first time I’ve seen your doggie it looks like a PITBULL ♥️♥️♥️ if so they are the best breed ever ♥️♥️🥰🥰 show more of the doggies ♥️♥️
Yes! He’s just the best ever ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Katie! The patio refresh turned out great! Love that you added in real plants and I think what you need is a small water feature as well. That would really make the space feel very zen. Especially when doing yoga. 😉
Omg yes!! Brian literally said this yesterday!!! Great minds think alike!
It's so stinkin pretty!!! Love all the green pops!!
Thank you so much 🌿💚
Wow!! What a beautiful transformation! You are going to enjoy that space so much!! Great job, guys! I love it all! ❤
Thank you so much Mary Ann ❤️❤️
Love the new look Katie 👍. You & Brian did an excellent job and details. Love the TV out there along with plants & herbs. I’m sure you will enjoy spending relaxing time out their with your added bonuses. BTW love the faux hanging baskets with plants. I have one in my bathroom as well and think it looks awesome. Kudos to you both for execution👍. Very nicely done. PS love the satisfaction after power washing, it’s a game changer👏👏👏. Wishing you, Brian & Bryann many memories enjoying your improved bonus area.
Thank you so much Susan!! We have already enjoyed it so much more! Twins in the faux hanging basket, it’s so cute!!! Thanks for being here ❤️❤️
Thank you so much!!! Best of luck with your refresh!!! 🌿☀️
Thank you so much!!!💚
Your patio looks good!
Please excuse any typos. My phone auto corrected a couple words.
Thank you so much!!! 💚💚
A Katie power washing video!! I love the rug cleaning and power washing videos too. So relaxing to watch. The space looks great. I could definitely see myself stretched out on the couch watching the tv. Hope you can get some rest today!
Thank our so much mark ❤️❤️ we are definitely resting a lot today and getting ready for a great week!
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you Rosa 💚🌿
Beautiful patio Thanks for sharing.
Everything thing looks great! Nice job guy's. Love to sit there and enjoy . Thanks
Thank you Audrey!!!
Thank you SO much for being here and welcome to the family ❤️
Wow Katie! You guys did an amazing job! And I so agree with you about power washing.. its gross but SO SATISFYING 😂😂 your patio looks so cozy and beautiful for you and your adorable furbabies to enjoy! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Katie very nice your patio and I love all the plant and herbs you put, thank you for the ideas
Thank you so much Ruth! I’m so glad you enjoyed and found some inspiration 💚🌿
Katie, take it from me...the herb plants should be in large individual pots.....they will take off like a rocket....You'll see what happens in just a few short weeks. Very pretty and enjoy with friends.
Oh wow!!!! Maybe we will move some to the bottom layer!!!
Your patio looks great 🎉👏🏻👏🏻🤗love the green 🪴🌱🪴
Thank you!!!
It looks so comfy and cozy! Love it!
Thank you so much Jamie!!!💚
Loved this transformation. It was very satisfying.
Thank you Carrie 💚
These tips are so amazing! Thank you so much for leaving this comment!💚🌿
Thank you so much Karen! Some did and some did not so we will be drilling holes!!
I like how your chairs sway and those tables accent it perfect!!!!~ Looks great! Can't wait to see what you do for all the holidays 😇👍
Thank you so much Christine!!!
