Amazing result. Now, the kids need to learn how to de-clutter. I love Kirstie's idea of putting everything in the garden and seeing what you would save if it rained. Thanks for the video.
Hoarding behavior needs lots of psychological support and unless this addressed staying or moving will just end up being a big expense either way. Hopefully this family will get the help they need
The outside is a tip and its no different inside. They need to sort it themselves or the kids will carry on the same when they get older. New house new tip
Phil always makes the same face after he says "...or list it?" He pulls his lower lip up as if to say "maybe I shouldn't ask" or "darned if they don't give me the answer I want". So adorable.
This for me was a nightmare, it was zapping the very life out of you with mess, and to be honest the furniture they chose was too dark I just hated the end result as much as the beginning.
Kirstie's very good at just dealing with what's presented to her - but the obvious point should have been made, that whatever happened - Stay or Move, the CLUTTER had to GO 1ST! There's no way you'd pay to move all that junk!! The 1st house in Chatteris would have been ideal for them, it's not far to Cambridge and has some soul to the place.
Children/teens don't need a separate study, a desk and a couple of shelves in their room is more than enough... that's what most of us worked with, and everything went well.
No, they got rid of loads. With three children it will never be minimal, but the floor to ceiling storage is an improvement for the low unit they previously had. Kirstie saved them 33K. 😊
There wasn't much thinking here that made sense. Why on earth would anyone consider moving so their teenagers would be closer to "action"? Why would people leave their stuff in heaps both in the house and the yard and the existing shed? Buying a much larger couch did not make their house have more space. WHY would anyone have wasted so much money on mugs? You know exactly what this will look like in a few years. Odd how no one mentioned the clear signs of water and mold in the corner of what became the master bedroom. Most of all why would these people have agreed to be shown on this show?
@@nancyn347 A hundred? Very unlikely. None of them appeared to have "World's best teacher" on them, and any mugs given in school would almost certainly have been kept in the teachers' common room at school, not taken taken home to join all the other junk. They clearly don't need any excuse 😂
@@John-G You're right, but being a retired teacher myself, after a while you have to take the mugs that the students give you home, because the cupboards in the teachers' common room are full!
Being judged as disgusting is not helpful to people struggling with chronic illness or trauma. Educate yourself as to how trauma affects a person's ability to cope with everyday issues, especially if isolated and poor. Cancer doesn't often look like Kate Middleton.
@ In spite of of any trauma, isolation or low income, unless you have a mental health condition with hoarding, which didn’t seem to be the case with this family, it is disgusting. Cancer does look like Princess Katherine, in spite of your judgmental comment, which isn’t helpful to people struggling with cancer. Cancer knows no bounds. Educate yourself on how Cancer affects people .
@@kalayne6713 who said there was trauma? Unfortunately, I've known a few families who are just like this family, and it's really just a matter of being too busy, and too lazy to keep a house clean and tidy.
"Through the double doors" in the show house at 28:47 and he has to duck his head to go through and he's not particularly tall - who designs these places?
A "master bedroom" where you have to go through the hall, through the living room into the dining room, then into the utility room and finally into a tiny bathroom, with no usable hand basin, to clean your teeth or go to the toilet? "Babe we need to clean up - let's get someone from the telly to do it"
😂
😂😂😂
Spot on!
LOL
You can follow the couple on the next episode of "Majestic HOARDERS". As for their choice, I think laziness was the decision maker :)

I hate to say it but the girls rooms have not changed. Teaching them to tidy up will serve them well when they are adults.
How long will it stay like that ?
They need to clean their house. Once sorted they'll have it messed up again in 6
months...
They don’t really want to love but are too lazy to move….

I agree, but then they would have just cluttered that house up too.
There have been many US programs about the issue of accumulating an unmanageable amount of stuff. Wasn’t expecting this to be the focus.
Children/teens don't need a separate study, a desk and a couple of shelves in their room is more than enough... that's what most of us worked with, and everything went well.
That shed will full of junk in one day, just thrown in

Notice at 18:15 that the door opens before he touches it.
Some people are just so lazy.
2020, nice results. I was sure the first house was it! Who wouldn't want to walk to work? Or maybe the students would be too close?😂
One of the most realistic familes

Why would they agree to be on the show? MONEY.
Many of the mugs were probably teacher gifts from students.

@nancyn347 You were probably a teacher for rather longer then them!
Does anyone ever move in this series?
The settee is far to big for that room, and the table squashed behind it
I would be so embarrassed to show my house like that on TV. Disgusting. How can people live like that.

And if they have a new house they will sadly just junk it up like the one they already have.

it said 2020 in the end credits

Haven't u heard strike the iron while it's hot---missed opportunity
They're being realistic. In a few years things will change and will the girls out of the house, they'll reevalute their status once more.
almost hoarding.............
the house still looks cluttered and too small..................
