I have this tool and it will take off 150lbs lug nuts
Recommendation:
- Remove remove all those extension and use a good impact socket and you will then see different results.
I have the 901 and have to agree, use a good 1/2" impact socket, it removes my Ford Superduty P/U 165 Lbft lug nuts in 2 seconds
I've removed some very tough nuts/bolts with the 901. Don't let the size or the 12V fool you. In fact, DeWalt is releasing essentially the exact same gun except on the 20V platform.
I use the 12v Dewalt every day for lug removal as a technician. I absolutely love it. Standard lug nuts it has no problem. Spline drive and odd lugs that require a key after the socket is certainly torque loss. Nice video man. Keep it up.
do you use the 1 with variable speed like in this video? or the big monster dcf109?
I bought the Milwaukee m12 fuel impact wrench and it too worked about as well as that Dewalt. Took a few seconds but it did loosen the lugs.
The 12volt Dewalt XTreme 1/2" took off my truck lugs that were set to 130 ft/lbs no problem. Having two adapters on there robs your power though.
Yeah robs alot of power, With wheel locks im always going to be at a deficit. The dcf109 is a huge upgrade!
I got the mid torque 20 volt dewalt 1/2 and use it on my lugs on my f150 love that thing. ..also dewalt is coming out with a 20 volt rachet and I can't wait
Bro great job! Love the vids!
Thanks ! I drive alooooot and always getting flats I keep a fullsize spare in my car and swap it out quick the impact gets plenty of use !
I've seen that 3/8 break loose 200 ft lbs, barely after 10-15 seconds. I think ur losing a lot of torque with all those extensions and adapters.
so your saying a full 10 to 15 seconds to hold the trigger ? thats a loooong time! I agree i'm loosing some on the adapters but even 8 seconds is a long time. I typed this in about 20
@@toolsandtactics yea it is a very long time. But it did it. That's where DeWalt gets their # from. If I have a bolt/nut on a car that won't come off I'm gonna let it hammer as long as it takes. That being said I have a Makita 18v xwt14 impact wrench 430ft lbs of torque that has removed everything no problem within 3-5 seconds max
@@theperfectpaintertoolreview Nice
I now have a 12v 1/2 impact video up. I ended getting rid of the 3/8,the new gen is wayyy better
It is 24v numb nuts. Shocker a 12v has less power than a 24v tool😒 try the DCF921 for a comparison to that chinese companies tool.
FYI that is a 12v impact wrench not drill
did you want a comparison or not? it wasn't tool vs tool title says vs lug nuts dont waste my time smfH u dont even get punctuation not worth my time
i will highlight your comment tho censorchip is a problem all points of view are good but urs was garabggegeegeeeeeeele llol, olololololololo
100ft lbs is not a task for either of these. The flex spins at a much fast rpm because its intended to be a driver.
This guy using speed at low torque to compare the 2, which is like racing a sprinter against a long distance runner in a long distance competition that ends in 100 yards.
I think you missed the point obviously Wrench for wrenching and the Driver will be for driving coarser threads
Not everybody wants a separate impact Wrench and would like to know if their impact can bust lug nuts
The dcf901 will stomp on ANY impact driver, mostly because it has half in anvil.
Sorry man but torque test channel clearly shows the dcf901 is stronger than a flex impact driver.

Flex 205 on TTC dyno.

DeWalt dcf901 259 on TTC dyno.
That’s a 20 percent difference bro not even close.
I think where the big flaw in this video is is the fact that you’re using an extension on the dewalt. Get a half inch socket set.
That lug nut tool is meant to be used with either torque sticks, or impact wrenches with extended anvils.
I somewhat agree.. at what task tho? flex has 4000 rpm at a regular task torque becomes irrelevant on everyday task still fastest drill on market! and for the first gen( with lifetime warranty) they hit a home run ! unlike many tool brands.
At torque breaking tasks, which is the point of an impact wrench.
To hit harder albeit sometimes at slightly slower rpms.
Great video man I have one of these and you think that’s impressive check out the DCF923 atomic series
You lose a lot of power with those adapters to make it more accurate you should have gotten the half-inch
Just got mine for half that price for the tool, and the battery and charger for $80
@@myballsitchsomethingfierce6319 yea, got it off ebay. Didnt bid though. Also I have seen amazon having the same deal but they sold out.
@@myballsitchsomethingfierce6319 You can still find it on ebay for $70-$80 for the tool and the DEWALT DCB135C battery kit for around $85+, which are still great deals
The size and weight of the motor kind defeat going 12v. What Dewalt needs is a 12v angle impact or ratchet.
Na it's pretty compact it's the huge 20 volt batteries they are getting away from with the 12 volt
You shouldn't use your impact driver to drive in big lags like that get a impact wrench your going to ruin your impact driver and use a big impact wrench for lags that size
Great insight ! I agree just once or twice for a video! Needing a lag that big, you should rethink your design and use carriage bolts and nuts. Drill a hole through the structural member and sandwich with structured brackets .
@@toolsandtactics what the heck are you talking about? You are 100% clueless
driver was made for speed and wrench is for torque, dik what youre trying to compare.
Man this test was a waste of time, that impact is way better than that driver. You should of just took off the lug nuts from the beginning, why start with the driver. Drivers are not made for lug nuts.
So after watching the video... you came to the conclusion that: 1 this was a test on tool vs tool ,2 every 1 else watching didn't care to see a comparison ,3 the impact drivers aren't made for lug nuts..
just checking ..( yo know.. for a friend )
Thanks for the input, I will just make a video on 1 tool, tell you its good based on my opinion (only) with no other contrast to compare it to
next time ;) drink the yellow or red or teal kool-aid and say its new so it must be better.
@@toolsandtactics you flatter yourself thinking I watched the whole video, you lost me when you just didn't break the lug nuts with the new impact wrench. Making the video about one tool would have made much more sense and been interesting than what you did.
I can talk as much trash as any1 else.. don't forget I worked in the field from 17 years to now
u will get your feeling hurt
however, I will apply the criticism and make a better video thx for the comment of showing 1 tool ect. best wishes
I have to say from the clogs to the complete lack of knowledge about cars and tools , it’s astonishing anyone subbed.
yo! Just saw your comment! Unless you got something constructive to say eat a d*ck 😲😲😲😲😲😲 also my content is getting better, just takes time. you should sub😁
🤦🏾♂️ driver vs impact
Dodge charger SRT
hah can't argue tho those chargers are FAST
my mustang is a 4 cyl 2.3 310hp 31 mpg tho;)
I recently bought on of these to keep in my Ford Transit Connect work van.
It removes the 100 ft. lbs. torqued lug nuts with ease.
I only use the 5ah batteries so I cannot vouch for lover ah batteries.
I also timed how long I had to hold down on the trigger to reach 100 ft. lbs. on my vehicle and it was 2 full seconds (one mississippi, two mississippi).
I did compare it to the HERCULES 20V Brushless Cordless 1/2 in. Compact, 4-Mode Impact Wrench, but the Hercules did removed the lug nuts but it had very harsh vibrations that make your wrist hurt like hell whereas the DeWalt was nice and smooth. The DeWalt resides under the drivers seat with (2) 5ah batteries and 2 Impact sockets in case one of any of those items fail me.....I like to have backup.
