Good review, I was about to buy these because a protective toe shoe from Nike is the most wanted thing by us workers who are required to wear safety shoes. But why they wouldn't protect over the toe box is a big fail. Thank you for actually pressing down over the toe box and making it clear that it does not protect from heavy drops on top of the toes. Very informative review!
Why didn't they just do two different versions smh I was so hyped cuz I thought I could flex these at Amazon 😭 whatever I'm from Illinois so at least I got something for winter
They're not even advertised as such lmao. Why would a regular sneaker have steel toes, it ain't no steel toe boot
@@K9V1 i believe he isn't talking about them being steel toed. The composite part of the toe is only in the front, it doesn't cover the top of the toes like a boot would which makes them not useful for factory work

@@Dubyahh Yeah I know but what I'm saying still applies. The shoes aren't advertised as being made for factory work or having any other "special" protection.
Nike never claimed them to be waterproof or something, you would've think that with the cordura fabric logo on it tho. Keep in mind that it is still just a sneaker and not some survival army boots
Yeah that's what made me think it was because of the Cordura fabric and they pretty much marketed this as a winter sneaker. The Gore-Tex/ACG sneakers have been pretty good in terms of waterproofing, so a bit weird they never went there with this.
Just give them a good coating of nikwax fabric and leather proof, it'll make water run off the shoe before it soakes in and won't effect the breathability . Goretex in a shoe that low is good until you get water in it, then it just traps the water in.

I recommend everyone half size up. The toe box fee just a half size too tight. This seems to be a common issue, just half size it up!

I'm glad you did the waterproof test, but it's the gap between the tounge and shoe that let most of the water in.... Which would be pretty easy to fix in design

Great review mate, honest and helpfull. Never had any Air Maxes before and always been a big fan of the line. I"m size 13 at least, always have a problem (struglle) with getting shoes I like, in my size. I'm crazy about these snickers, love from the first sight! But in Poland they are so f... expensive and I"m not sure about the size. But... ;) And please exuse me any mistakes, but English not a my native language. Peace!
Would it be possible if you could do the test again but just pour water over the toebox and not over the tongue? It would be really useful cus I'm considering the shoe.
He should have done the water test with the trainer on his foot. I'd like to see if having your foot pressing up on the back of the tongue stops the water getting in....
Just got the desert camo ones, very nice I think, nicer than the black, but I've got them coming as well so ill compare.

Hey Broski. In Nike Mexico the description did not say anything about waterproof. It does say about mud proof "anti mud". So that makes sense on the toe box material that seems tough. I just received today and yes the little box will be a plus on those days at musci festivals....you knowwwww. Big hug from Mexico.
Yesss Broski! Nike haven't claimed for them to be waterproof, but Cordura fabric is known for its waterproof material 🙌🏼

Yo broski hope you are well. I supposed to received this shoe (same CW) today but DPD decided to let me down. Anyway, learning from your review this shoe is not 100% waterproof is a bit of a let down. But I'll decide for myself whether this shoe will be a buy or a bye :) take care broski.
These are defo worth a look, maybe not on the level of a Gore-Tex/ACG Nike sneaker, but something different 🔥

Talking about the waterproof ability cordura as a fabric is mainly used for its strength and rugged aspects over its water repellency,it’s seen in military fabrics and harnesses because it can carry shit tones of weight and not break or tear.Just spray it with a waterproofing spray and keep layering it you should be fine wish the protective cap covered the toe box more so it would appeal to people working with heavy machinery,if they had done that I would’ve copped them but if you weight lift these wouldn’t be a bad option if you are scared of dropping weights on your feet aswell as having the trainer like flexibility.Grest video man keep it up 👍🏾

@@TheLifeOfABroski They were manufactured between April, and July 2020. I was wondering if nike had some of the older shape sat around from last year, and just added some pull tabs and a few details to get rid of them 😂

Copped these! They’re banging on foot but are seriously hard compared to normal air max 90s. Sole is hella stiff and require so much walking in. Bit of a snug fit compared to normal air max 90s too and feel like safety boots a bit but still a good trainer 💪🏼

I think the water proof is mostly near the bottom for walking in snow
Finally copped, got a small discount so had to! Went up .5 as I read a few accounts of them being tight.. hopefully no issues. Hopefully a spray of crep protect will do the job for waterproofing 🤯

@@stillbaked3880 Have over 10 pairs of 90’s, in either 8.5 or 9 UK makes no noticeable difference usually. 8.5 being my preferred for the perfect fit, including these. EVER so slightly smaller on length, .5 up is beneficial not quite TTS compared to every other 90.

Yeah I wish I'd gone up .5 mine felt a little tight at first but they seem to have relaxed now, I just have to make sure the laces don't end up inside as with the enforced toe cap they're not massively flexible. They do feel durable though ay?

The other 2 cws are the better of the pack imo with the little hits of colour around the toe box...the desert sand 1st, I kinda get off white vibes from that particular shoe as its not all one shade it just breaks it up abit also... I would throw some orange laces in em...Khaki 2nd...this 3rd, just im not a massive fan of all black shoes id defo have to put infra red laces in to rock em. Great review again though bro.🙏🏽✌🏽👊🏽
