I hated my previous insta360 cameras (Go 1, One X, and X3). The image quality was bad. I told myself I wasn't going to buy anymore Insta360 cameras. I ended up seeing a 64gb Go 3 open box for $340. Against my better judgement, I bought it. I'm super surprised by how good it is. It's fun and easy to use. I like it better than my GoPro 11. So much so that I'm going to sell the GoPro.
I am still using my One R and it's excellent.

For a tiny camera this one is a pretty solid choice from I can see, if only it could be a bit more accessible pricewise. Tha case flip screen is a great feature making it a bit more independent from the phone a supplying extra charge. The secure clips for the mounts are very welcome too. Thanks for sharing with us
I am a huge fan of the series myself too. The new generation of mounts is a lot more reliable than what we got with Go2.
As a small camera i think the DJI Action 2 is still the best option. I use it with a lens protection and a plastic or silicone case. I have the model with the power combo, without second screen.
In terms of image quality it is indeed.

Not sure if Go2 is still available to purchase....
I got one a couple months ago,, I'm using it more than my Osmo Action. love the tiny size, and the pod, because I'm not one of those people that have my phone in my hands all the time. Love the fact that I can edit on my phone or upload on my puter for major editing. Recently strapped it on a dogs back and ran around a park and it was AMAZING ! The camera was bouncing all over, but the video was rock steady !
Yeah, stabilization is crazy good.

Indeed disappointing to see no real improvement to the hardware - after all this is a camera and its product is footage, so if the footage is not better the camera is not better.
Would you recommend getting the go2 instead if there some good discounts now when the new model is out?
I would love to have such tiny camera to attach to my cat's collar and spy on him :D

I think that the main upgrade are the accessories. So if the Go2 price is much better - I'd definitely recommend getting it over Go3. Looks like 4K is currently not possible at this scale...
If you don’t have the Go2 is the 3 worth buying or due to price would it be better to get a second hand Go2? Mainly want one to vlog running races.
Get the Go3. It is important the battery to be fresh.
I have been trying to find a camera i can use for shooting sports card videos in my basement, and use as a camera to use if i go out and do something different. I’m between the go3 and action 4. What do you recommend?
Action 4 gives a lot more use cases and has significantly better image quality.

Excellent! Thank you. I have Go 2 and was wondering if I should upgrade... No one actually talks much about cons of this new version compared to GO 2 as you did here. Thanks for it!. I also have an impression thet Go 3 is significantly thicker when sitting inside Action Pod. Could you in some possible future video compare them in that regard (actually I found no one who showed them side by side when camera units are in their docks) Does it even still fit into jeans pocket? Looks like lens is also not protected at all... How do you carry it when not filming?
The Go3 is just a little thicker. But it feels heavier.
You can carry it inside a pocket, no worries about it. The lens is removable and is the same as the one with Go2, so even if it scratches, this will be OK. The camera is good, I just happen to prefer the 2nd generation because of the size and weight.
The accessories for Go3 feel better though.
I upgraded from go 2 to 3 cos of the overheating I am quite happy
I’ve got the insta go 3 but I’m struggling to upload any decent quality to UA-cam. What program are you using to upload ?
I usually edit my videos with Premiere Pro.
The problem is that the price point is unrealistic, for the specs. And when it's in the case, you might just as well have an action camera. It's only $399 for the Osmo Action 4, and that looks like a great camera in reviews, for example. I am still using my Insta360 One R action cam and it offers better resolution and the modular benefits. If they priced it at $249, maybe, but not at $430! You can pick up a used Go2 for about $120-130.
As for the chest mount, I bought a Telesin magnetic medallion chest mount ($10), which I use with the One R, and it's so strong that nothing will dislodge the camera!
Nah, given the size - I think the price is quite reasonable.

Have you tried it? It's not clumsy at all. You can change the mounts super fast and it's super easy to use. It doesn't overheat and the battery lasts a long time. I find the GoPro mounting system and menu to be clumsy if anything.
I tend to agree that the setup is actually easy and accessories are great
