Hi, great review and inside look into this lens. First off, I bought my lens last month and the Fisheye"s" error has been corrected ;)) I used to use a Sigma Fisheye lens on a Minolta body long long time ago, and I had great fun with it using it mainly for architectural and city pics, loved the distortion on the buildings and skyscrapers, also used it for the couple of extra more spectacular landscape pics, loved also to play with the distortion on the horizon depending how you were holding the camera. I hope this TT Artisan lens will be able to make me relive those moments.
@@DamianBrown I can imagine by the time they realized the mishap there must have been some stress inside the company's headquarters ;)))) But, on the other hand you might as well consider that you're holding a quite particular and "limited edition" Fisheyes specimen :))) First attempts are looking promising indeed ;).
Thanks for this. As a test, see how easy it is to download firmware from your third party lens you're thinking of buying. I hit a dead wall on my Samsung phone and my Imac downloading Viltrox firmware. Already asking friends to give it a try. Odd.. I would have liked to see closeups with this.
Hi Damian. Out of the X series compatible fisheyes you've covered, which do you prefer? This seems an interesting choice, given the HD filters, but tell me please, are they magnetic or do they screw in? I was a bit concerned they might drop onto the sensor but almost certainly that's not the case? Thanks! Great review as usual!
Honestly, this one was the most fun and the extra potential for the filters I think could be fun. They simply drop in place but not into the sensor no.
@@DamianBrown Good point indeed, I've seen a different review mentioning the lens should actually be a decent astrophotography lens, but it seems it suffers from sharpness in the corners which could hurt the overall image quality. But I personally haven't tried it yet so I always prefer to make my own opinion to have a stable view an something.
I guess this if I had to choose but they are both very fun. This costs more and is bigger but has that extra light, the nd filter(s) and slightly better IQ overall.
Great review which mad eye more up for buying it. I bought an X-T2 a few years back (phenomenal, superb etc) and had the super nice Canon EF S 10-18mm, but just realized that getting an electronic adapter to get it to work on my Fuji would cost me as exactly as much as this lens would where I live. So now I am gonna sell my Canon 10-18 as I will never ever use shitty Canon again, take that money, add some and get this one instead. And do something about that shady lens cap... Great review, but you really chose the shittiest place to try it out man! Some stinking reservoir by a high-way-intersection. Give use some wonky forests or interior of building instead man! ;)
It could be worse, it could say "Fishe yes" Seriously though, the images look good for this kind of lens. The Rokinon/Samyang 8mm 2.8 and this TTartisan appear to be the most usable
Really like the b&w images, seems to highlight the distortion. Tempting!
I agree!
Great video Damian I’ve been considering this lens and I think you might have persuaded me 😊👍🏻
Enjoy!!!
I have the 7Artisans 7.5 f2.8 lens for M4/3 and it is brilliant. I would recommend it for micro 4/3
Good shout Malcolm!

They must have done a fresh run without the printing error 😅
Good to hear about your experience, I think this one will be fun too!

The Best APSC Fisheye. TTArtisan does amazing job lately.
Hopefully they keep it up!
i love it says 'fisheyes' lol great review as always. thank you.
It's the way forward... :D
Thanks Damian - good review. Just added to my amazon wishlist
Thanks!

I've never had a problem updating lenses using my Mac sorry.

Would like a “humaneyes” (rectilinear) lens from these folks… have several TTA lenses, really like them.
Catseyes next :D
@2:57 I think that’s where you can add screw in lens filters. Brilliant.
And the drop ins ua-cam.com/video/Cnhuz6h8pz0/v-deo.html
Can I use this lens to take milky way?
Good question! Anybody?

I watched another review of this lens and I believe they screwed the ND filters into the back of the lens instead of just laying them in the lens.
Interesting, I wonder if they updated it and mine was different as a first run lens
thanks Damian - interesting review. At that price I'm tempted :-)
Thanks!
Fantastic as always. You make me spend way too much money.
:D Don't blame me!
Which one do you recommend: TT of this video or 7 artisans 7.5 fisheyes? Thanks.

Come on man, that reservoir is a gem :D
If only you tested the ND filters, too-if they have any use. You know, the image quality, colour cast, etc.
Good point!
Not a fan of fisheye but the brand is proving to be really reputable.
I agree!
Question - your camera model number is covered up. What have you covered it with and out of interest why did you do this?
I prefer an all black look, more discrete for my tastes that way.
Hey! Is this better then the meike 7.5mm 2.8?
Yes.
It could be worse, it could say "Fishe yes"

Fishy Yes would be good! :D
