- "The Streets of Dublin," from the 2002 off-Broadway musical "A Man of No Importance," with Steven Pasquale and leading man Roger Rees. Score by Ahrens and Flaherty, book by Terrence McNally, directed by Joe Mantello.
i literally went from mildly enjoying this song to completely obsessing over it after I had watched this. His performance is absolutely incredible
This is the only piece of live footage from the original cast I can find, but this has been my favorite musical for over a year. Thanks for posting this, I love Steven Pasquales voice.
3:44 man that backing harmony combined with Pasquale's belt, hearing that live must've been an ear-melting moment
Can you imagine....its exciting just listening to him here, but in person, in that moment...wow!!
Pasquale can SING. He's so exponentially better than those NASAL boy singers who sound just alike.
He can portray so much sensuality and playfulness simultaneously
Non mi piacce
He is an actor who sings. His vocal prowess is exceptional but l never once think he wants to "sound good", he wants to tell the story. My kind of performer!! When you connect with the story you sound great..
Baby Pasquale. Always great voice.
I can't believe this was almost 20 years ago. Craaaazy! And he's only gotten better. I'm so fortunate that I had that voice in my face 8 shows a week at one point in my short career...
I just wonder all the art Pasquale would have made on the musical stage had he not done a television show for a decade of his life. He's truly a one of a kind performer.
I think Matt Morrison has the career he has because of it!!!!!
Lovely, just superb. Considering that Rees has left us, it is historic. Let's try to find other film of the songs of this production...great cast. Of course Pasquale's voice resonates with such power. But Rees is a great actor...so expressive. A loss...
I'm so glad you posted this, our school just put put on a production of this show and it's so great to see it with the original cast. Any chance of posting more clips from this show?
stephen was still so young but already so eargasmic good!!
Its the fact that his vibrato on "know" and "glow" sounds so effortless for me.
Probably my favorite vowel to sing on, something about that "oh" placement is so satisfying to sing with vibrato
Thank god this is exactly what I was waiting for.
Great to hear, thank you.
Roger Rees .... may his memory continue to be for a blessing.
It just does NOT get better.
Oh Aurora, that made me cry. I would give anything to be able to see the entire show. It will never be produced here in Oz. Thank you, it was beautifully sung and staged.
Advocate for some theater group to do it. It's a wonderful show, and has had a decent number of regional productions in the USA. Especially if you have someone really strong for the role of Alfie, it can be thrilling. A very satisfying show.
There's a production being done in Melbourne mid next year
I'm going to see it at Williamstown Little Theatre tonight, so it did get done in Australia, in Melbourne, in late June 2019.
@@PetaGehrmann there was a production of it in Perth at the end of 2015. I don't know why the show isn't produced more often. It's a GEM.
Anyone else here because their school is doing this show? Also damn he’s incredible
BlockedArtist210 I wish my school would do this show! It’s my favorite musical and no one seems to know it.
NateRocks9 It’s so underrated but it’s soooooo good!!! One of our seniors got the role of Robbie and he definitely threw himself into that role- I played Carson/mate 1/and policeman lol who’s your fave character sorry for the long rant
I saw this at the Newhouse. Of course I didn't know Pasquale. Same thing with Chenowith when I saw A New Brain there.
Oh Roger Rees.
Decent looking fella this Pasquale fellow. Decent voice, too.
What do you know? It's Firefighter Sean Garrity from "Rescue Me" singing his ASS off!
lol i came from an old show at bush gardens I'm different
i absolutely saw that same show and remember them singing this hahaha
@@mackelliotschaefer it was so long ago even though it doesn't feel like it
God this is so good. Irish accents make me swoon, and he just sings so beautifully 🥰
The one and only SP. One of the GOATs,
Thank you for posting this! I appreciate this song so much more after understanding the context of the story
Incredible.
Firefighter Sean Garrity from "Rescue Me" can SING.
once again; thank you for sharing your wonderful video clips!!
You are very welcome. Hope you keep on enjoying.
Don't miss Steven Pasquale's "Billy Bigalow" CAROUSEL footage with Laura Osnes. THEY should be doing the 2018
B'way revival!
This song means SO MUCH to me! THANK YOU!!!
The Sheriff of Rottingham!
Yes it is! I was wondering if someone was EVER gonna point that out. 😆
Wow
Happy St. Patrick's Day 2022
*sighs* Roger Rees tho.
Chills everytime. ❤
This doesn't need autotune like most of the modern singers. It's that good!
Musical theatre actors don't need autotune.
Thank you so much for posting this. Such a treat!
Very glad you found this and liked it.
I don't think I have heard this one before. Love it!
Glad to hear you enjoyed.
Definitely worth getting the cast recording.
I've just purchased the CD and would love the dvd if available or to at least see the show. I'm in New Zealand so doubt there'd ever be a stage production made, especially during Covid.
