I like how Ally was recovering backwards. Stuff like that is the reason players like him are so good - using little wrinkles that other people haven't thought of or used extensively.
None of those things are cheap, and can all be dealt with if you're a good player, if you don't want to get hit while you're recovering, then play a character with fast, high priority aerials, and if you don't want to get hit while your opponent is invincible then camp on the ledge til it goes away, it's that simple.
I didn't say high tier, there are low and mid tier characters that have high priority aerials like Peach, Kirby, DK, Ness, Lucas, Yoshi, Jigglypuff, and Luigi to name a few, and every character can camp on the ledge as long as you're smart about it, in fact I main Luigi and I do pretty well against most high tier characters, the only ones I really struggle against are Olimar, Lucario, and Toon Link, and the first two are just because I'm unfamiliar with the matchups.

you might not be educated into the current meta but even though mk is the best, good players have really become accustomed to fighting him and have pretty good success. only a handful of metaknight players actually make it far in big tournaments these days.
Snake isn't bad, but I think he should be a couple spots lower on the tier list because I feel like Pika beats him and ZSS is pretty even, but if I had to say one of them had a slight advantage, I would definitely give it to ZSS.
If you have a character who's up-b works like that, then you should be smart enough not to let it get you in that situation, for example, with Luigi, I never recover with up-b unless I'm below the stage because I have so many other options to exhaust before that such as down-b, side-b and double jump, and if I use up-b onstage it's as a kill move and if I whiff then I deserve to be punished because I just whiffed the ultimate troll move.
It's definitely more of a read and spacing oriented game. You don't really have true combos, except under 30 percent or so, so there are a lot more individual interactions between the players where their choices decide which player takes damage, and how much. You rarely lose a stock due to one poor prediction, leading into a huge combo. It's not my preferred form of Smash, but I really admire the smarts and the adaptability necessary to play it on the very highest level.

BelugaTheHutt Speed is irrelevant to how many reads you must make, it just means you must react faster. If you pit a Melee player against a Brawl in PM, the melee will undoubtedly win, and have the same amount of reads.
