    I listen to Ajahn Sumedho every day of my life. Because of him, my life became not so confusing. Anicca Dukkha Anatta. He read the Sutta with the words - 'Open are the doors to the deathless ... its the Pali chant after the Namo Tassa chant to the Buddha, before he gives a Dhamma talk ... it's about the the unborn, uncreated, unformed 🙏🙏🙏 He is so direct that those still 'with a little dust in their eyes' will not see. As the Buddha said, this is a practice that takes a long time.
    Edit - interestingly what I had said above Ajahn Sumedho has just discussed in the latest video today on the Amaravati UA-cam channel of the 40th Anniversary as Amaravati means 'the deathless' - its the 40th Anniversary of Amaravati video 🙏

    interesting discussion from Ajahn. Trying to explain what he was saying defeats the purpose. I find that sometimes, especially his talks I need to listen to them multiple times and they eventually land and I get it. That doesn't mean I can explain it or possibly even practice it, but I do gain an understanding of what I think he means,. Sit down, pay attention and let be without have to do anything else, think anything else or having answers. letting go .

    Consciousness is not the same as the unborn. It's not the end stage, so to speak. Just like everything else consciousness arises and ceases.

      Hello dear Medhini
      Why do you think ajahn talk this way ?
      Is he delusional ,did he lost the path according to your point of view?

    the subtitels are way of. For example, instead of "Pali" the software translated to "Poly," and worse, "Conciousness" is translated to "Content," and there are scores more. For beginners, this could be dangerously misleading. If this great master's dharma talk will be reproduced here the youtube statation owner should ensure correct subtitles. Thanks!

      Yes. The subtitles are automatically generated by UA-cam

    I have a question. The sanskripts were written 400 years after the death of the buddha.
    How can we be sure that is what Sidarta said at the time??

    • @drmindfulness
      @drmindfulness  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi, thank you for the question. The answer is a long story, and perhaps it is a legend. The Buddha's attendant was Anada, who reported having a super memory. The Buddha's talks were given in Pali, the common people's language at the time. Apparently, Anada remembered the talks and recited them to the council, and they were written down.
