I never owned one and I don't think I've ever come across one IRL but every time I see videos like these showcasing the Terror Drome, I'm always blown away. Awesome looking playset and it looks great stacked with figures with all the bells and whistles attached. Great video, Ken 🎉

This was the one playset I really wanted but never got . I had the flagg but no cobra base of operations in my attic display so the cardboard boxes had to suffice. Now I'm out of the scale but can appreciate the engineering and sheer toyeticness of this playset. Good review Ken
Cardboard boxes were my go-to at times as well.
The Terrordrome is an amazing play set and holds a special place in my heart. It was the centerpiece to many fun play sessions I had with one of very best friends who is no longer with us. Wonderful review Ken. It was so much fun taking this trip down memory lane with your video.

Ahhhhhhhhh you put Sarge in the jail 😮😮😂😂😅. Really like how you included the snippet about how the CLAW could be displayed on the doors. Sold gold!!!!!
Oh yeah the CLAW detail i didnt know for years. As for Sarge, figured he would bust out on his own. Haha

I remember my friend getting the gi joe air craft carrier one year for Christmas and i was so jealous then i think maybe following Christmas i got the terror drome and one upped him he was so mad at me his parents couldn't find the drome for him for some reason it was really hard to find in our area which was weird cuz we could always find every other gi joe or transformer we wanted but this thing was rare around here and i actually still had this in very good condition up until about 5 years ago when i moved and sold my old house it had been in the attic untouched for 20+ years along with a few more gi joe items and a ton of the m.a.s.k. vehicles and figures and few g1 transformers which i gave all of them away to kids in our family only thing i kept was 2 transformers the g1 autobot jet fire which was always my favorite all time transformer and a g1 with box and all parts decepticon soundwave nut ended up losing both of those when i had a storage unit broken into
This was one of the few vintage playsets released between 1978 - 1990 that my brother and I didn't get -- and we both wanted this one. We had to settle just for getting a Flagg in 1986. I still have not gotten over this. lol.

I got mine on Xmas in 1987. Best toy I ever owned. Pretty pricey nowadays & if I had the money I would definitely buy it all over again.
They are definitely going up in price. I only got this 4 years ago at the start of the price hike. Sounds like you got some good memories with this toy.
@@ToyKennections The Joe Movie in '87 is wa made me luv the playset. It looked so colossal in it especially with the beginning & seeing several of those Flight Pods coming out from the doom. I miss it tbh. Heavy metal & girls made me giv it away to my younger cousins for free as a teen.

I had this when I was a kid but I never liked how the top was completely open. I always thought it should've been like the Millennium Falcon. Should've been able to take off a roof panel to get inside to play. Then leave the roof on for display when you weren't playing with it.
I always imagined birds shitting in it or what if it rained? lol

This is such awesome toy I remember playing with one Of these growing up. Anyway been trying find decent fire bat these days as price gone up ridiculously here but I get it one of these days. Anyway ken thanks for sharing I enjoyed watching it
Ah a Firebat is hard to find in nice shape now, yeah. Actually one of the chin guns on mine has a busted tab.

This is a beast of a playset, but VERY COOL! The only downside is that it really didn't spin like the commercial, but very well done toy nonethless...

i wouldn't be surprised that the terror drome was originally a death star prototype, but didn't have money for tooling, so another toy team for the joes picked it up instead after or if anything a person who was working on the death star toy changed toy design teams and just re-formated their toy for Joes rather than star wars. i'm sure not possible, but just a fantasy because i would have seen a kid pretend that the terror drome was a stand in for the death star with their starwars toys or played a little bit of cross universe playing of Joes entering the star wars world. Cause i would have imagined the empire became allies with cobras if they were willing to help the cobras defeat the joes to take of the world and have earth join under the empire in loyalty. cause i know i'd always do the same with Joes and metal gear mixing universes.
That would be interesting, though it would mean the designer switched from Kenner to Hasbro

No. Scales pretty much only with the old 3.75" oring figures.
