Thanks, Dan. I learned a lot from other articles and videos, but this trick actually worked for me. (Others tell you to press one button for seconds or minutes, but only Dan recommends pressing every button.) When you press buttons, make sure they come back up and don't get stuck in the depressed position or you'll be depressed with the result.

I'm stunned!. It worked on my RM Series replacement for a panasonic remote control. I saw this videos and casually pushed all the buttons, put in the batteries and guess what? It didnt work! SO I followed the instructions explicitly holding down each button for at least 3 seconds. Sure enough the remote control started working. I actually did get this to work. I think if you tinker with this process, it probably can work. However, cleaning probably works as well. Personally I left for like an hour or two, and then it worked.
I also bought a remote from Target, and the instructions were so confusing I never got it to work, so I'm glad mine started working again.

It worked for me too and the remote in question was kept out of respect because the TV and remote were left to me by my grandparents although it was a spare it was bugging me as it was totally non functional .. it does seem rather like it could be a prank but of course a few of us seem to be proved wrong. The tip I will-give is to make sure you always start off with the power button which is not always on the top left so it's not always a consecutive order thing.

Omg this actually worked! I had put in brand new batteries, reset my TV, turned it on and off a few times. None of that worked. I was about to throw away my remote and replace it with a new one when I came across this tutorial! And the remote is now working fine! Hooray!!!🎉🎉🎉

Dan you are a GENIUS! In going about your instructions, by the time I got to button #12, I discover it would not push and found that the edge of the button was stuck (jammed) underneath the lip of the case. I free'd the button and wholla! It worked again! I almost went out and bought another remote. LMAO! Thank you sir. I never would of found it if I didn't run into your video.

+Hugo Barranco This really works! First, take the batteries out. Start at the top and press EVERY single button down for 3 seconds, then release it. Press one button at a time, and don't skip ANY buttons. Put the batteries back in. Somehow this restores the settings.

Thanks Dan, this worked for my Bauhn tv. Tried changing batteries and thought something that was rattling inside was the cause. Tried the reset by pressing all the buttons for 3 secs and it now works again. Champion!!

My remote died and I was planning on buying a new one but decided to look on the internet to see if there was a fix. Yours is the second video I tried. The first video I tried actually got my remote to turn on the TV but then it stopped again. Saw you video next and tried it. First round of 3 seconds (I may have pressed too fast and pressed two buttons at the same time) didn't work but the second round of counting to 3 on each button did! Thank you!
