Great video, thanks Captain! It's been awhile since I've been to the Montgomery Mall since I've moved out of state. But, I have such fond memories of this mall back in the 80's, visiting with my grandma. All good things must come to an end I guess, just kinda sad....but, it will always live on in my memories 💗 Merry Christmas to you, Mrs Captain, the family, Rick the puppy and Happy Birthday to Stewie!
Retail has always been hard. You are at the mercy of...well...the whims of shoppers. E commerce has made it even harder...obviously. Gen-Zs don't care about these places. They probably think they're stupid.
great video capt. im 35 now grew up w this and willow grove about 45 mins away. sad to see it like this soo many great memories. i heard they were gonna bullldoze and make toll brother style homes eventually
The claw game allows the owner to adjust the claw tines by bending them. That way they don’t have as good a grip on the toys and the toys, called “plush” for these soft ones, to fall off when you lift them. Also, you normally stack the good stuff along the walls out of reach of the crane. In NJ these are considered gambling devices and are regulated and licensed by the state. Ones where you play until you win like candy cranes are considered vending machines and are not regulated. I had a candy crane , filled with toys, not candy, in my waiting room.
Shopping has changed. Few want to drive to a specific place...to shop. It's easier to just buy things online. 😮 The pandemic made it worse depending on your pov. So these places are done. It is sad. I agree with that.
Yea its nice but meh; its a bygone era; with the advent of online shopping to your door and convenience. And over saturation of too many same stores, lot of which are eating themselves like vultures; they build up and slowly lower in quality and sellout/equity firm vultures, no one wants, like every big chain. Malls were like once in a while type visits for people, in which they don't really survive that well with. These greedy business ideas of rapid expansion, were a very bad idea; its why they are all toppling over like dominoes.
I have vague memories of a stand alone Antie Anne's store on Rt 30 as you head into Lancaster, but looking at google maps I don't see it so I guess it's not there anymore.
Sad fact-Dick's is moving down the road into a strip mall. If that Macy's is one of the locations closing after Christmas, that mall is officially dead.
Its a shame, I remember the book store with the hole in front for kids to crawl thru think it was Walden books on second floor. The marble floor is nice. Where the water tower is was the Montgomery mart.
How does Montgomery Mall compared to Willow Grove and Oxford Valley Mall since it's a 20-25 minutes of a drive from Willow Grove Mall and it's a 2-Story just like Oxford Valley Mall
Quakertown Farmers Market has an Auntie Ann's. Montgomery Mall, Oxford Valley Mall, and the Lehigh Valley Mall have the same lay out. I do not like these malls, always preferred the Neshaminy Mall and the smaller Bucks County Mall in Feasterville.
Speaking of finding bongs inside a mall. I was in a mall somewhere in Indiana (not going to tell where because weed is still illegal here), I found a head shop inside this mall. Not only it had bongs and pipes along with concert t-shirts and I was there looking for a rush concert t-shirt, they also had katanas. Not real ones though the blades where made of a cheap type of steel, they where only wall hangers but I wish they where real but then again the price range would've been in the $1000.00 + range. They did have knives, throwing stars and brass knuckles. I decided to buy a pair of nickel plated brass knuckles that has four metal tabs in the knuckles with one letter each spelling out the word hate. I thought it was cool.
Thanks for walking this one! That mall, Plymouth Meeting, and Willow Grove were my childhood.
Another great mall video at Christmas time

I’ve enjoyed these Mall videos greatly, Hog Island gets the stuff out pretty quick. Extremely comfortable shirts!
Awww! This was my mall when I lived briefly in Central Bucks. So sad. This was a really nice mall back in the day.
baseball fan always had NL & AL team I’m rooting for. You? You and onslaught comedy dual definitely need more of! MC! Cap
Based on watching his channel for the past two years…. I think his NL team is the Braves and Mets… AL is the Bluejays.
Depressing how devoid of life these malls are. I
Have
My memories I guess 🎉

Happy birthday Stewie the Chiwawa..Great video Philly Captain at the Montgomery Mall Pa..North Wales, Pa..Enjoy your day..
They have auntie Ann's soft pretzels inside a lot of super Walmart locations along with subways
We lived near this mall for many years, moved out of the area over nine years ago. Wow, has Montgomery Mall changed! Yikes.

Good video philly Captain🔥🔥
Very nicely decorated mall. Sad to see so many empty stores.

Yo ma! The Mannequin is coming alive, like the movie

I grew up near the water tower and rode my bike to the mall as a young teen. It was way better 30 years ago
Annie Annes is on the boardwalk. sometimes it's inside a walmart mixed w/ the subway
Love your videos! You should do a video at the q mart in quakertown!
Make sure you hit 👍🏻 and subscribe
I saw Annie's in pretzels in Wildwood New Jersey
Montgomery Mall isn't even 30 minutes outside Philly. 309 dumps out on Ogontz Ave

Willow groove is the better out of the three. Oxford Valley is better than montgomery, but neither by much
Hey Captain you should take Kevin to country junction before Christmas he would love the animals.. Leighton,pa
There is an Auntie Anne's in the Franklin Mills Walmart.
back in the day, a week before xmas, we all know the malls were totally nuts, not sure how they stay in business now days
The Landmark Committee will soon be filling the parking lot with junk cars parts and trash
There’s an auntie Anne’s in my local Walmart
@2:10 RIP eastern mountain sports
You look just right for 48 Captain
Malls are looking really sad these days.
Quakertown mart, put it on your list

All the empty stores in Malls that vacant with a nice cover. Owners of Malls should have to pay for it.
Don’t think you went go to The Willow Grove Mall.
Not far from Montgomery Mall
My God are you from Philly or what ?
In Texas auntie Ann's is a outside strip store
🇺🇦🎗🌹🇮🇱
That arcade is pretty pathetic compared to 80’s and 90’s arcades when malls were king.
You Do Not Put Money In to Anything During Your Videos Ever ! lol
