    Hi! I’m excited to be here in your channel and I’m interested in learning more about investing and saving up for my retirement but am a little confused about the whole process. Any advice or tips to get me started up would be greatly appreciated.

      Most people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however. I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-lots of years. Or just use a professional analyst and speed up wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter

      You're absolutely right about the power of compound interest and the long-term potential of investing in index funds like the S&P 500. For many, passive investing in broadly diversified funds can be a reliable strategy over time.

      Employing a professional financial analyst or advisor can certainly add value by offering tailored advice, portfolio diversification, risk management, and timely insights. Their expertise can potentially speed up wealth creation and navigate market complexities, but it's important to choose someone reputable and consider their fees, as they can impact your overall returns.

      I agree with you. I started out with investing on my own, but I lost a lot of money. I was able to pull out about $200k after the 2020 crash I invested the money using an analyst, and in seven months, I raked in almost $673,000

      We have now owned the car for 3 years and our experience has been extremely positive. My husband always says how happy he is that we invested in an older, well-built vehicle. Maybe we got lucky, but we have only had minor issues with the car that you would expect with a 20 year old vehicle. I hope this helps, let me know if you have anymore questions :)

    I'm assuming that at least one (or both) of you is a Swiss citizen or resident, right? Any chance it would be that easy for a non-citizen/non-resident?

    • @TheNomadNextdoor
      @TheNomadNextdoor  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, my husband is a citizen and I am a resident. I am not sure what the situation would be if you are not a resident. However I have heard of a few smaller garages that rent cars for longer term. That might even be a better option than buying one if you are not living here or planning to keep it long term.

    • @marc2812
      @marc2812 3 роки тому

      Ok, yeah. Bummer. I agree that renting seems to be the only viable option for most Americans like me. And I've had some GREAT rental deals on cars in the past, especially renting in Amsterdam (e.g., $20/day for two weeks). But I want a niche vehicle like a campervan that I can drive around the continent for 2-3 months, and I've never found a reasonably-priced campervan rental other than relocation deals, which are infrequent at best. And even then, the relocation deals require too much driving in too short a time, which is why I would prefer to buy something and then re-sell it. Just haven't figured out how, yet.
      For people who don't mind traveling fast and who are flexible on destination, campervan relocations are great, and very common in Aus/NZ. There are a lot fewer sights per mile down under, so it makes more sense (to me, anyway) to use a relocation deal down there. I've driven a brand new, plastic-still-on-the-seats Sprinter campervan from Melbourne to Perth for $5/day. And then a slightly shabby pickup with a popup camper from Perth to Darwin for $1/day and they even reimbursed me $200 for fuel. Found these deals on imoova, which almost always has deals in Australia, and usually in NZ too. USA/Canada deals exist right now, but seem to be pretty seasonal.

      Even if you are not a resident, you can buy and license a car for one year in Switzerland. You have to have a green card (Insurance) for one year. The number plate is slightly different from the normal cantonal number plate (It used to look similar to the customs number-plates except that it lacks the letter "Z" (for Zoll) in it. Just go to the Vehicle Licensing Authority in the Canton where you want to license or buy the vehicle and ask them.

    That car belongs in a junkyard. One repair will cost easily more than the value of the car. 20 year old Benz. What a nightmare to maintain. Even in Switzerland 5,000 chf is highway robbery for that car

      Thanks for your opinion and for spreading your negative vibes across the internet 🤙🏼 Just about every decision in life involves an element of risk. While a 20 year old Mercedes isn’t the most secure option or “safe bet”, we’d rather take the ride and see what happens ✌🏼

    • @LisaCulton

      @@TheNomadNextdoor I clicked because the car in your thumbnail looks nearly exactly like my boss' old car that he replaced in 2019 and he did so because he said that repairs were costing more and more. In the same year I sold my 11 year-old Mercedes C 300 because it was being subject to more and more recalls (deadly airbags, etc.) and also needing more frequent and costly maintenance. The last repair I did on it was a brake job that cost 1000 CHF (cash special price) at a non-Mercedes shop, just to give you an idea - not to be negative. We sold the C class to an apparent wholesaler for 3500 CHF. The reason why I sold my 2002 Mercedes ML 430 when it was 8 years old was because it had developed leaky gaskets (leaking oil) and it was becoming difficult to pass inspection in Germany and the repair would have cost about what the vehicle was worth at the time.
      Anyway, another good place to shop for cars is autoscout24. Oh, and you should also get TCS membership for roadside help and other benefits.

    • @cesandlin
      @cesandlin 3 роки тому +1

      THAT IS JUST RUBBISH. A Mercedes with 120,000 km (roughly 78,000 miles) has a life, except for consumables,. of about 200,000 miles. The Swiss Government inspection will tell you when it is time to get a new car!

      He is not being negative; he's being realistic, unfortunately 😕
      My friend has an MB A200 that cost him 2.500fr.
      Tell u what...in 2 years he'd spent over 3k in maintaining 😔
      And now he just wants to throw his car off the alps 😔
