Although cycle shops were open during the pandemic and it would have been useful to visit them , I didn't to protect my family . It forced me to service my bikes myself. Since bike shops seem to make more money from servicing than from sales, if lots of people did this, it probably did them no good !
I'm more interested in practicality rather than presentation. Internal factors mentioned at 7:23 should include having secure places to put your bike in. Unless I have to leave my bike at a shop for servicing I would rather ride it there as it would save me putting it in the car which I may have issues parking. I wanted to visit a Decathlon shop but when I looked on google street view they had no store front cycle racks !
We have a local charity that repairs bikes and sells them to the public so I would prefer visiting them ( community aspect ) rather than some of our other local retailers. I would want bike fit and saddle loan services from any shops.
Nice to see Mary back. I wondered if the team had disbanded 😞

Hi Stephen, thanks for sharing your story!🙏 It's totally understandable that you put your family's safety first during the pandemic, even if it meant DIY bike servicing. It's nice to hear how you've been managing things practically.
I hear you on the importance of bike shop conveniences like secure bike parking and riding to the shop instead of driving. And it's great that you support your local charity bike shop-they sound like a great community resource.
As for Mary's appearance in the video, I'm glad you enjoyed her presence as a guest interviewer. While I would love to have her more regularly, financial constraints currently limit my ability to do so. However, I'm optimistic about the channel's growth and hope to feature Mary more frequently soon.
Thanks again for your continuous support!🙂
