Guys, you're missing the reason why MetLife was chosen over Jerryworld and SoFi: NY is closer, in many aspects, to Europe. Let's not forget that Europe is still the focus when broadcasting the World Cup. Remember how the final in Brazil 2014 was on the afternoon, not at night, just to set it in Europe's primetime. A final in LA would have meant it would be played at noon, while an East Coast stadium (like NY) lets them schedule it on the afternoon. From there, NY and Atlanta have the best aviation connectivity (especially to Europe). And from there, NY has a bigger multiculturality than Atlanta (and a better chance for a favorable weather). What makes me laugh a lot is that Jerry Jones spent a lot of money to get the final in Dallas. He had the media of the 3 countries singing his song, making it appear like it was all but officially confirmed that Dallas would host the final... only to watch NY getting it. 😁
Jerryworld also has 0 mass transportation to the stadium. Arlington Texas is the biggest city in the country by population that does not have its own mass transportation system or is part of a regional transportation system. While this ok for Dallas Cowboys games as people will drive to the stadium and are used to it.
