such an amazing channel, never understood proof of circle theromes and was literally fully given up. but my teacher recommended your website and decided to give this video a try. best decision
You may actually be the goat I watched this last night just as an afterthought and Im so glad I watched this video now as circle theorem proofs was the last question, again I can't thank you enough!
thank you soo much, this vid was so helpful, but how would you recommend memorising this, so I can retrieve this information in the exam if it comes up, thanks so much for ur vids, literally saving my life in maths rn, tysm!
This one together with the first video on circle theorems itself is the best I've ever seen about this topic 👍! 🙂👻 P. S. and thanx for the clear and simple speaking. It makes life easier for aliens like me (English is not my first language) 😉
This is so useful but what do we do if the question states not to use any circle theorums in our answer? Do we just do the same steps of working out but not give the reason why (as giving the reason why often involves stating a circle theorum usually) please let me know thanj you
im a month late but i think you still need to write the steps. what they mean by that is the first two proofs didnt need to rely on other circle theorems, just algebra and geometry, but the last few you need to reference other circle theorems in your answer. hope this helped idk if i worded it properly
If we needed to prove one of the theorums in which the proof involves another theorum (e.g angles in the same segment are equal), would we need to prove both theorums?
Does alternate segment theorem still works if x > 90 deg? For example, if A on the proof is on the minor segment on the left side instead, will BCT = BAC?
Good question. Yes. If you think about it the two angles at the tangent add to make 180. If you draw an angle in both segments they must also add to 180 due to cyclic quadrilaterals.
Hi, I just did the proofs that are listed in the specification for GCSE maths. Side note, great username, I remember that book from about 25 years ago!
Many things were proved; and there was yet an alien theorem: in a triangle the sum of the angles = 180 degrees. How can we be absolutelly sure we were never deceived by an unsuspected circular (no pun) reasoning?
Technically there is also the radius bisecting a chord at 90°. You can find this theorem in my circle theorem proofs video though. It is seemingly almost never assessed though. I don't actually recall any exam questions using it at all on this specification. You are expected to know it though but it's quite simple.
Without a proof we wouldn't know it was true. Proof is possibly the most important skill in all of mathematics. It's the very foundation of the entire subject.

Welcome!
Hope ur exam goes well
the explanations help me memorise the proofs by itself which is also needed for the topic circle theorems so thanks a lot.
thanks for informing me about the last theorem not being needed if you do AQA just saved me so much time
i love you
Best channel for gcse maths and further maths, thanks bro
Hope your exam goes well and i hope you get everything you want for christmas
omg, I wish I found this channel sooner!

do you do edexcel or aqa? i don't remember doing a circle theorums proof question and i do edexcel?
@@zowjc9ww It was something about tangents I think
@@zowjc9wwEdexcel had the tangent proof
litch the best channel for gcse maths thanks so much 🙏🙏🙏
Glad you think so!
Dear god these proofs are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
Thank you so much! I needed this for my upcoming exam 😁
thank u for this omgg i struggle on math so much and this helped a lot im so happy to finally understand this!
You are so welcome!
Best youtuber ever
this channel is goated man i subbed

I understood it very well..Thank u I'm from Sri Lanka..
You are taking me 30 years back 😮
Appreciate a lot ! Helpful

New favourite comment! :D
do you think box plots will come up much in the 2024 exams?
Yes
most underrated channe;
Too kind!

thank you so much!
good luck tomorrow everyone
Good luck!
Thank you And I hope you did good in your test

very helpful thanks
thanks a lot, super informative content and was done professionally
Thank you so much, now I can get my 9😁👌
is this mentioned in cambridge
Thank you for the clarification
GREAT SIR ❤❤ Prove the theorem of triangle also. incentive , medium
If we needed to prove one of the theorums in which the proof involves another theorum (e.g angles in the same segment are equal), would we need to prove both theorums?
Yes technically. You may also want to note that it is also theorems with an 'e'. Seen lots of people make that mistake though.
GREAT VIDEOS ....THX
luv bro my mocks are tmr
Honestly it helpful.

@@1stClassMaths Thanks! great video helps a lot
Just perfect
Nice, thanks a lot
Thank you very much for sharing.

Thanks, I found your proofs very clear. A small help to remember, would be to include the name of the theorem written under the main heading?
would they combine circle theorems and ask you to prove it in that way or only single ones like in the video? Thank you!
I'd expect just a single theorem.
this is really helpful overall, but you didn’t mention how to prove that tangents to a point are equal in length?

If you have Trigonometry as well, can you also present it please.
I have done trigonometry, check my playlists.
bro pls make a lvl content next year 🙏🏾🔥
I will try
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
Nice vid thanks
No problem :)
Thx a lot sir, like a lot and btw Jesus loves u, stay blessed 🙂
❤❤❤
Thank you so much sir
Got an exam tomorrow?
Would u have to memorise this
Yes or be able to work it out again yourself. This topic doesn’t seem to come up too often though.
Could this turn up on OCR GCSE Maths?
Yes it could.
Why am i only finding ur channel noww 😭😭
Many things were proved; and there was yet an alien theorem: in a triangle the sum of the angles = 180 degrees. How can we be absolutelly sure we were never deceived by an unsuspected circular (no pun) reasoning?
You are expected to be able to prove that already by this point, as such you can use it in another proof.
I thought there were 8 circle theorems
Are these all the circle theorems for Edexcel?
Technically there is also the radius bisecting a chord at 90°. You can find this theorem in my circle theorem proofs video though. It is seemingly almost never assessed though. I don't actually recall any exam questions using it at all on this specification. You are expected to know it though but it's quite simple.
What is the practicle application ......
the last proof, is it meant for ocr?
Wow
Next month I exam
Minor, major angles….why not acute and obtuse angles?….sorry, old GCE student here.
Either is fine really.
why do we have to prove something that they know is true seems kinda pointless to me
Without a proof we wouldn't know it was true. Proof is possibly the most important skill in all of mathematics. It's the very foundation of the entire subject.
10q
In india these theorems are in the 9th grade with proofs.
